  1. 1.  If he obtains a re entry permit he enters on that and stays until the date on it (original entry time).

    2.  If no re entry permit he obtains a 30 day stamp if eligible.

As you might have guessed, the query isn't quite hypothetical. My wife, in Thailand on an "O", retirement category, with a single entry visa, needed to make a quick trip home to visit her ailing mother, not realizing that it might be problemmatical, just bought a ticket and left. She doesn't need to do her 90 day check-in until June 17 (if that's relevent) and just wants to return to Chiang Mai in a couple weeks. What should she do? Thanks for any help.

  2. Absolutely correct information, although I would recommend to visit the immigration office rather than obtining the re-entry at the airport.

At the airport you must apply AFTER check-in with you boarding pass in hand.

It can be a long way from Terminal 2 over to 1 and back. If your flight is at off-times you might have to locate the person in charge etc.

Out of curiousity, what happens if someone with a single entry "O" leaves & tries to come back?

  3. I live in Tanaboon. Some posters clearly haven't even been there. The first thing that anyone needs to know is "what is your budget?". For 10 million baht, there are a lot of places nicer than Tanaboon. And yes, it is on the CNX flight path. The community is about 60-70% Thai, but includes americans, English, Swedes, XCanadians, Belgians, Dutch, Scots, Singaporeans, etc., and perhaps a half dozen thai/farang couples. It's rather small compared to most moobaans, maybe 70 homes. It has a great sense of community, construction standards are very high, and they will build you whatever you want (i.e., there are a couple swimming pools and I don't think any two homes are identical, unlike most moobaans). Give me a email @ [email protected] if you wish anything further. R. Walker

  4. Has anyone heard of the Tanaboon housng estate? According to the map on their website, it seems to be somewhere not far past the airport. I have only been once to CM and really liked it. I will be back on March 12th and spend a couple of weeks to take a better look.

Are there any other housing estates similar to Tanaboo anyone could recommend to look at and consider for possible permanent residency?

    thanks in advance,

    eddie
