She's just had a go at me now, somebody just delivered something and I answered the door as she was asleep as usual, apparently I was rude to her 'guests' as she knew the kids in tow. Silly me should have invited them in for a nosh up. Not loving her family is a favorite along with forgetting to wai the one she calls her mother (she's adopted) Then there is a permanent list of faults including you have no friends (did have before) you cannot make baby (bit of luck there then) and the good old if you don't like Thailand go back home. She used to like to go out now just wants to stay in all the time and watch Korean soaps, eating and phone, that's about it. Not really as much fun as it used to be.
Thais always right, Farangs always wrong (and skinflint). Usual <deleted> from Thai women for 99.999% of them.
Divorced after 18 years and one child with my ex. Happy life since, taking care of my child 90% of the time.
Celibacy in Thailand or short-term relationship (1 to 2 hours) is the solution.
Different cultures or interracial cannot mix together (see the global situation today in all countries) or you are playing poker with your life and taking big risks for your future children.

Not at all the same !! Thai police makes the difference between the two.
Newspapers should writte "Algerian with french passport".

Lyme disease : what to do if you get this disease
If you are sure to have Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi), COLLOIDAL SILVER is a very good natural & inexpensive treatment.
Colloidal Silver is used to treat MANY other diseases as well.
Link :
Make your own Colloidal Silver at home
email of a french specialist in Thailand for Lyme disease :
gerard.lalande at ceo-health.com (replace "at" by @, no spaces)
" A person might feel a lot better after taking large daily amounts of colloidal silver, because the silver, in killing or suppressing the activity of the pathogen, is able to halt the progression of the infection. But it's not repairing the damage already done to multiple bodily systems.
When silver nanoparticles merge with curcumin, an extract of turmeric, biofilm destruction is significantly potentiated.
Anyone can get bit by a spider, lice, mites and mosquito and can get Borrelia because these guys carry the transmission of Lyme disease, as well.
Supplements to take : Vitamin D, anti-inflammatory curcumin (found in turmeric), magnesium, omega 3-rich foods.
Many of the virulent bacteria, such as Borrelia burgdorferi, produce endotoxins and biotoxins that further damage joints, tissues, and organs, often causing pain and inflammation. Recent research by Lambadi et al. confirms not only the biofilm control but the removal of endotoxins by silver nanoparticles, illustrating further advantage of silver nanoparticles as a promising treatment for chronic Lyme disease and its associated infections. "----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other more invasive drug treatments for Lyme :
" The diagnosis is confirmed by serology tests that identify antibodies to the Borrelia bacterium (B. burgdorferi).
The main challenge of Lyme disease is to recognise it when this is no rash or when complications start, usually several months or years after suffering from the tick bite. Undiagnosed, the patient may be treated inadequately for chronic arthritis or neurological illnesses over a long period. In such a case, the late diagnosis exposes the patient to serious morbidity with very poor quality of life.
Treatment should be started as soon as possible and is quite effective at the early stages of the infection. Antibiotics, especially doxycyclin and amoxicillin, are used in oral form for 2 weeks in early Lyme disease and in intravenous infusion for up to four weeks
when complications have appeared.
The first-line standard of care treatment for adults with Lyme disease is DOXYCYCLINE, a tetracycline antibiotic. Other antibiotics that have activity against borrelia include the penicillin-like antibiotic AMOXICILLIN and the cephalosporin Ceftin.Drink plenty of fluids while using these medications .
AMOXICILLIN can cause delayed allergic reactions even after you’ve stopped taking them.
Diarrhea is a common side effect of amoxicillin. To help prevent it, take your doses with a meal. Avoid foods that could upset your stomach, like dairy or high-fiber foods.
Amoxicillin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is a penicillin-type antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Amoxicillin is also used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H. pylori and to prevent the ulcers from returning. "WARNING : antibiotics (as you may already know) have MANY SIDE-EFFECTS.
Try the colloidal silver before any antibiotic treatment.
Hope this help

Hi everyone,
I must warn those who want to purchase a second-hand CRF250L (mine !) Pity for me to say this but ... DON'T BUY IT !!!
Since I bought this bike in May 2017 the engine was vibrating (rattling) and noisy more than an ordinary 250cc 4 strokes engine.
I must say before I never used my bike for racing, off-road, high RPM, ... but just for touring and I took good care of it (never fallen down, no scratches, properly serviced, hand-washed, ...). I love this bike but ...
At the beginning, small vibrations coud be felt from 4000RPM until 6000RPM, nothing alarming yet.
As it was my first CRF250L, I thought it was normal for this new bike (I owned 14 japanese bikes, 7 Honda bikes, some of them I bought new) and I was very careful during the break-in process (never had any kind of engine problem in 42 years).
For this one, I ordered some expensive Motul double-esther oil which helped to reduce a little the vibrations.
At 2000kms I went to my Honda shop to tell them about this problem. They tightened a few bolts but without success.
Day after day, vibrations increased slowly until I have tingling sensations in my hands.
Also, an oil leak appeared in front of the engine (center gasket) resulting from the vibrations.
I tried some other CRF250L, even a new one, but none of them had this problem of vibrations or oil leak.
My bike was sent to BGKK but they could not find the source of these vibrations. They just changed the center gasket but nothing improved apart from the oil leak. Big job for nothing !
Also, during the transportation to/from Bangkok, my bike was slightly damaged (plastics, paint). By precaution I took a lot of detailled photos before letting them load my bike on the truck, having the same issue with one transporter in the past.
I reported this to my shop and I asked them to change the plastics and repair the paint as my bike was under warranty. My shop agreed with this with a forced smile.
I also spotted some paint chips on the frame around the engine, both sides. The paint has been damaged by the engineers in BGKK during the removal and reinstallation of the engine. Photos taken. My shop also agreed to repair the paint when I showed them the photos taken before loading the bike. Prevention is always better than cure, especially after 20 years in Thailand !! You know what I mean.
One month ago (at last !), two guys from Honda Bangkok came to check the bike and confirmed the engine was faulty from factory. They offered me to give me a new bike in exchange as Honda Thailand cannot replace a defective engine by a new one (not in their policy). BTW Honda CRF250L engine is guaranteed 3 years and 30.000 kms.
As my story angered my shop (even if it is not their fault), they decided to take back my bike (under waranty), refund my money and sell it back to someone else without fixing the engine (as Bangkok cannot repair a faulty engine from factory !). No one can fix it, in fact, neither Mr Jet or Mr Kong as they told me themselves : too big job (and cost) to find the faulty part.
Before I give them the green book they promised to send me back home by bike or car. When the book was changed to their name they told me to take a tuk-tuk. Big liars as most of the Thais !
Soon, my bike will be visible and for sale at my Honda shop for a while .

Road going South to Da Vinci/Night Bazar. On the right, you go to the big Clock Tower (200m).
My advice : if you want to buy a second-hand CRF, don't buy this bike !!!
External signs :
Pity !!!!!!
Conclusion :
- Honda Thailand is slow but efficient
- Honda engineers and transporters are not careful enough. Take a lot of detailled photos before letting anyone touch your bike.
- Honda bikes Made in Thailand are not the same quality than those made in Japan. Cheaper but ...
- DON'T BUY FROM THIS SHOP !! Unfriendly staff, greedy but smiling manager only when you give her your money, grumpy old father and mother, low qualified engineers, .... AVOID THIS SHOP !!!
I hope my sad story will avoid hassle to others.
IF YOU WANT TO BUY A NEW CRF250L :
- Go to SINTHANEE (just before Big C, same side)
- Discount : 131.000 bahts (instead of 132.500 at my previous shop)
- FREE full face Index helmet with amovible UV screen (not a salad bowl as my previous shop gave me)
- FREE Sinthanee jacket (farang size)
- FREE 200 bahts coupon to buy parts
- 15% discount on all parts
- FREE Sinthanee lottery tickets (x2) : cars, bikes, helmets, ... many things to win
- FREE DELIVERY of your bike by special amenaged truck (not like the "cattle truck" I saw at my previous shop)

All (most of) our problems come from MONEY (politics, religions, unemployment, social, education, thieves, drugs, ...).
Instead to have "physical money" just reform it by having only one account by name then digitize it and make it transparent in case of complain then all problems will be solved. Each city manage its citizens' accounts.
A security payment (like Paypal which offers 45 days refund) will be a good idea.
Each ou us will have a digital tablet (around 8 inches long) that can be connected to another one to do any transaction between 2 people or businesses (goods, services). Can be used on internet too.
Optimum tracability and possibility by autorities to "freeze" any suspicious activity.
Double security code and fingerprint for security purpose.and ... big penalty (like 20 years in jail) for those wanting to "crack the code" !!

Funny stuff. Well it seems that Russia and China have
governmental ideology that is closer to the current
government in Thailand, so I guess it makes sense
on one level.......
Yep, more dictature(s) than democracy.
Internet is more censured in thailand than in china (see iternet about censured countries). Thailand is No 1 !!! Must use TOR to access foreign news. Bravo No1 !!

Too many deaths for a "developping but civilized country" like thailand, at the expenses of the tourists (farangs but also thais).
Rule nr 1 here : don't trust anyone, don't trust anything.
Still alive after 17 years in the "land of smiles" applying this rule on a daily basis (no smile on the faces of these 2 girls and many others who have enjoyed the local high standards of safety) !

This and the similar raids in Pattaya lately arresting people for not carrying passports....
The military government just deciding to flex its muscles, or, a response to the reports of some kind of IS terrorist threat inside Thailand?
When you know that terrorist come from western country, some of them are native and converted and carry french or belgian passeport
They have french or belgium passport but are french or belgium only by birth on their adminstrative papers, they are not considered as REAL french or belgium by thai autorities as I have seen in Phuket and Ranong during "stamping" process for visa.
The thai police showed a different attitude between these north-africans holding a "french passport" and me : nice attitude for me, suspicious look to them. Just to mention it.

Thanks for all this useful information.
We will land in Chiang Rai on 25th of March and my worries are getting bigger.
Since 15 years we are mostly concerned by clean good air and healthy life (we are retired diving instructors)
and it looks like maybe we did a wrong choice with Chiang Rai to build a farm and to have healthier life.
After Phuket and its overcrowded population+pollution+heat+++..., here we are, welcome in the northern smoke !!
So I resume : rice fields, corn fields, road sides, litter on the forest floor, ...
It looks like fire is for "purification purpose" everywhere to start over for a happy new year of prosperous cultures
with enriched soil....
I am running to the mask shop right now !!!
-
Thanks for the pictures.
Impressive this smoke !! Even scary I can say !! I think I will invest in these particle masks.
It seems the smoke is mainly coming from rice fields after harvesting, is it ?
So the best is to live away from this king of beautiful landscape.
I have heard there is quite a lot of milk farms producing fresh cow milk.
Can anyone tell me where ?
Thanks to all.

Hi everyone,
at the end of March I am moving with my family (Thai wife and our 9 years old daughter) to Chiang Rai after 15 years in Phuket (now too many cars/pollution/tourists/dust/heat/.......) and following the comments I can read about smoke in Chiang Rai I am planning to buy 3 particle masks from 3M, available here.
These masks are costly (800 to 1000 B each) but regarding health hazard there, maybe worth to have ?
We are planning to set up our farm around Chiang Rai city but where is the less "smoky" place to live around Chiang Rai city ?
The south part maybe ?
Thanks for your help.

Thailand.
Almost #1 for murder percapita
Almost #1 for road deaths percapita
Come one Thailand, you can do it!
I agree. Even Russians are warning Thailand about their next boycott if they don't improve safety by all means (+ ... buses crashes/boat injuries/road accidents/outdoor activities/drug/alcool/AIDS/dengue/airplane crashes/ even ...Tsunami .....long list in Thailand !!!!!!!).

Why to be so susceptible ?
By all means people with HIV should be more concerned to don't spread their virus to the non-infected people around them.
Instead they should take all precautions to protect the others.
When you have kids (like me), everyday you like to come back home "clean" to don't contaminate them (shower at the working place) if you work in unhealthy environment. Right ?
I don't have HIV and I will not use their ustensils, even washed, to eat in a cafeteria. It is common sense, nothing else, and nothing about discrimination.
The paranoia of exclusion starting to spread even in Thailand ? Or another extravaganza from gays ?

In reply to RigPig
"....... as Thai women can't generally be trusted and want too much. "
I can definively answer YES to this short comment, as I am married for 14 years and can fully agree with this.
If we didn't have one daughter together, I would already fill for divorce (better alone than in bad company).
I have being cheated almost everyday, and with a (now internationaly famous) smile, as many other farangs friends around me since 14 years.
We all cannot mary with rich family heiress, this is the problem with this unbalance. We, farangs, have usually more money available than our thai counterpart. The farang inside the couple (can be man but also woman like one here in Phuket) has to pay to his thai counterpart, this is a tradition (e.g. : like we must financially help the thai family). Am I wrong ?
So, when they cannot have more, they often just take.
-
very simple. because hey have been told from birth that white skin is more beautiful and dark skin is ugly.
I think because WHITE SKIN for Thais means working in office with air-cond (so rich and doing "clean" job), DARK SKIN means working in the street or rice field (so poor and having dirty job).
To be honest it is what thai ladies often told me. Snobbism spreading everywhere here.
-
I am also married with a thai lady for 14 years, we have one daughter of almost 9 years, and actually we are in my country during cold winter since 7 months.
I can just tell you a few things I have learned from Thais (my wife and her friends) since we are together
(so 14 years in thailand) :
- it is very difficult for thais to live far from other thais, they must have friends/relationships to speak thai and feel good.
- they don't get used to cold countries very well. Must stay warm place or get sick easily (20 degrees celcius less than thailand)
- lifestyle in europa faster than in thailand. Must adapt to higher speed (think/speak/act/work/.......).
- must learn proper local language, thais are used to have communication problems (always nod but understand little) between them (12 local languages with different slangs).
- food : most of them must live close to a chinese supplier (noodles/spices/soya sauce/fish sauce/...). Foreign food sometimes difficult (depending the foreign country).
Hope this can help.

Coming back from Phuket (9 to 23 july).
Nai Harn has a few people, mostly local farangs or those stranded in Thailand (with relatives/parents sending them money). Swimming there is Ok as soon as you stay between yellow flags (Life Guards on duty). Big waves, rip current in the middle.
Phuket town always busy (99.9999 % thais), a few traffic jams (but much less without tourists).
I enjoyed Phuket when it is not invaded by mass tourism.
Traveled with VietJetAir, 10.000 bahts for 2, round trip.
I used Chai taxi to go to the airport. The cheapest of all (minivan, 800 bahts from Nai Harn to airport instead of 1200 bahts average).
Hope this helps.
