A bullet proof vest and helmet are "Defensive" not "Offensive".

I wouldn't like to take this off road. It appears that it is fitted with Forklift wheels and tyres. The same you see loading containers at the docks.

In the picture to the left isn't that the Bamboo Bridge that collapsed the other day ? An unfortunate choice of symbolism. Perhaps it is a warning of the impending collapse of the Thai banking system.

About three years ago I had a conversation with a French pilot who had been working for Thai Airways as an instructor but had been forced to resign as he was failing pilots on their yearly (or whatever time scale it is) checks. He would test a pilot in a simulator and fail him, this pilot should then have had some retraining and a retest. The Thai pilot would then complain and be tested by a Thai instructor and passed.

I think it may be a good idea if the Thais published a multi lingual Highway Code and had short public information broadcasts onThai TV on how to drive more skillfully. How to give way, overtake, etc at the moment they seem to make everything up as they go along.

I would like to improve my driving in Thailand. Where do I obtain a copy of the Thai Highway code? or any other relevant publications in English?

Check the pilots log books and recent check flights, then see who signed them off. I have been led to believe it is like the Thai School system where nobody fails.

If Tony and Emma convince the Government about Human Rights it will be good for farangs married to Thais as we will be ENTITLED to family life on par with indigenous Thais?

"Quantitative easing is an unconventional monetary policy used by the US’s central bank to stimulate its economy when the standard monetary policy has become ineffective."
Quantitative easing is another word for devaluation. If you have sold goods to the USA and hold US Dollars in a Thai bank account the value of those dollars has (over the last 5 years ) reduced by 27 % . It is a fraudulent way to reduce debt. It causes inflation.

North’s seasonal haze problem back despite ban on burning
in Thailand News
Posted
From what I have observed during my 12 year stay in Northern Thailand it is not the farmers burning rice stubble that is the main problem. In fact the stubble seems to be ploughed back into the ground after each crop.
The problem is caused by the people who manage the vast Teak plantations who burn the leaves each year. This is done in the evenings and night time. From where I live in Chiang Mai I can see long lines of fire across many kilometres of mountainside.
Find out who owns the Teak and start from there. It will never change.
