I have recently returned from Bangkok for a sourcing trip for my clothing company. I collected a lot of different items as i am in the sampling faze.
A lot of the items i brought are one size.
I am looking for a manufacturing company that i could send the items that i love to. I would like them to reproduce/copy it into many different sizes XS,S,M,L,XL (Australian).

Thanks for all the great advise everyone=]
Australia and Thailand have great importing/exporting laws so sticking with them for now.
I have experience with shopping in the markets in Changmai and Phuket so i have experience with the markets and bartering.
I will be heading to Pratunam market, Bobae Market, Platinum Mall and Chutchuck Market. Any advise on these markets would be greatly appreciated.
And yes i will have a Thai personal shopper with me to help with communication =]

Hi there,
would love some advise on shopping at Pratunam Market. I will be traveling to Bangkok on the 4th May and will be sourcing out clothing to bring back to Australia.
I am aware that if you get deep into the markets you can find actual suppliers selling clothing at stalls. To cut out the middle man would be great.
Finding these people is a different thing!
Any advise on how i should approach the sellers in the markets would be a lot of help!
Kind Regards

Hi there everyone,
I am in the process of booking my trip to Bangkok and getting different quotes from travel agents.
I am wanting to be near Platinum Mall but this travel agent keeps telling me that Platinum Mall is the same mall as MBK, same place different name..
Thats not what i thought?
Platinum mall , MBK , Bobae Market and Chutuchuck Market. I believed these are all completely different mall/markets in Bangkok.
Am i wrong??
Help!

Hi everyone,
I am asking anyone who as brought from Plantinum Mall, Bobae market and Chutuchuck Market. I am coming to Bangkok soon and will be buying clothing for my business back in Australia. To be able to send the clothing items back they need to customs requiremnts with regards to the labeling laws.
-Fabric content e.g. 100% rayon
-Country item was made
-Care instructions
Do the majority of the clothing at these places have this on the tags??

Thanks for all the tips everyone! i will take a look at each of them and hopefully one will stand out to me.
As requested:
Budget: I would say $60 per night would be cheap and $150 would be a nice hotel.
I am needing to be close to Platinum Mall.
Something with a resort feel would be amazing, that was the type of accommodation i stayed in during my travels to Phuket. Bangkok is the City though so unsure if u can get a similar resort feel.
Thanks Samantha

Great, thanks.
I will be keeping them bellow 1000AUD to avoid hassel as i am only a small company starting out.
I have emailed the Australian Customs so hopefully they can clarify on what i can and cant do.
thanks

I was planning on just doing the 30 day tourist visa that you automatically get but i am afraid i could get in some trouble with customs when i return home.
Is this very common for people doing similar things to me to just get a tourist visa?

Hi there,
I am traveling to Thailand (Bangkok) soon and would love some advise on which visa to get.
I live in Australia and this will be a business trip.
I will be sourcing clothing for my clothing business, some coming back in my bag but will be sending back packages of it.
I have herd of the immigration white card, will i need one?
I will only be in the country for a week or so and my partner will be coming too.
Thanks
Samantha

Thank you so much 'happy go lucky'.
It would be handy to be close to restaurants but i think it would be smarter to stay near the mall, as you say.
A company has contacted me yesterday so they are gonna work in with me and assist in the shopping and shipping process which is great! been searching for the right company and they seem great.
I am learning more towards the Novotel as i have stayed there Back in New Zealand... about 80AUD a night would be ideal, so around 2,500THB at a guess.
I can always look online at reviews, but it is always great to hear what people recommend or what the recommend to stay clear of. This site has been so handy! great people on here.
When you say meter for the taxis, do they all not have meters??
Thanks
Samantha

Great, thanks for all the recommendations and tips! I will most likely book through booking.com, love that site.

Would love any recommendations for great but affordable accommodation in Bangkok near Pratunam mall and markets.
Ones to avoid would be great to.
I have never traveled to Bangkok before so any places or districts to avoid would be great.
Thanks

where did she purchase her clothing in Thailand?
I will be buying at the wholesale markets in Bangkok, do you know it she brought there to? That would be annoying if they just stopped lines..
Defiantly something i will ask when buying from the wholesalers.
Thanks CharlieH, i will tread lightly with the word 'samples' didn't think of it in the aspect from a customs point of view. thank you=]

Great, thanks for that!

Hi there,
I Am traveling to Bangkok in May to source out clothing samples for my small clothing business i have recently started. I am looking for someone to assist in the shipping process during our time in Bangkok and also over see the process when we return back to Australia (Brisbane, Queensland).
I am only going to be buying SAMPLES so i will be buying clothing lots of 10-15 items of clothing per clothing type most likely. I cant imagine i will be buying more then 100-150 pieces of clothing items in total.

Thank you everyone for the helpful information =]
Good to know most shop keepers can speak a bit of English! that is handy.
I am a bit worried the wholesalers will choose to ignore me when i return back to Australia... Having that trust with them will be difficult

Hi there,
I will be traveling to Bangkok in a month or so and i am searching for a personal shopper to help me during me short stay there.
I will be sourcing clothing for my new business and communicating with wholesalers.
I have been emailing Personal-Shopper-Bangkok.com and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them?
I can find any reviews online and as its Thailand... i am trying to be safe and not be taken advantage of.
There website and services seem honest but would love any reviews people have with them.
Kind Regards

Hi there,
I have started up a small clothing business and am now in the process of sourcing my clothing. Rather then do it online i am going to come to Bangkok and pick out my first lot of clothing in person.
I am looking for someone to help me with finding the hot spots and helping me communicate with the wholesalers.
I will originally be getting small quantities on my visit but when i return to Australia i will be ordering regularly, large shipments from the wholesalers.
Is there anyone out there that can help me??
The only thing online that i can find is Personal-Shopper-Bangkok.com and they are proving to be very difficult to deal with through email.
We are looking to come over in a month or so and are looking to stay for a week to get everything sorted, pick out my clothing and find reliable wholesalers to keep in touch with back in Australia.
Please if someone has any one the can point me towards or they can help, please give me an email!
Kind Regards
Samantha
EDIT: Personal email removed, please make contact via PM if you can help.
