70-80% of that 26000 are motorcycle deaths which is no big surprise . The amazing truth is that usually (in developed countries) public transport is safer than travelling in your own vehicle,In Thailand its the opposite.A terrible thing. 19 is a lot of lives, but still no more than the daily average which is almost 30... http://asiancorrespondent.com/111079/thailands-road-carnage-continues/
Unfortunately the reporter was not up-to-date. Road deaths confirmed by a senior Thai government official is averaging 26,000 a year, that's 71 a day.

its nothing to do with "money"for"inspectors" or "public servants" There are plenty of them to dothe job .Its the will to "enforce regulations" for travellers safety and ultimately their lives, but as has been pointed out many times.Money and profit linked to corruption comes before ANYTHING
How so?
where to start but what NONSENSEGentlemen and ladies...you are in a less developed country than that from which you came. Many of you came for the freedom which comes from that. Some came because of the less expensive lifestyle. There us a price to be paid unfortunately. If you want first world regulation and standards be prepared to pay the price. Machinery inspectors do not come cheaply nor do the myriads of public servants who create and enforce regulations. Be careful what you wish for.

. Good articles if it only highlights the obvious .I love it that Chinese officials are laying it out plain and simple as,in my experience they usually do,tell the Thai "If you dont start taking action we will issue advise not to travel to Thailand" And China being the state it is it could stop its citizens travelling to the country.Does it comes as any surprise - money before lives? This article didn't hold back on it's criticism Uncovering the Dangers of Tour Buses in Thailand
-
Nobody seems to have highlighted that it was deemed far more important the buses have GPS tracking to trace them in the "inevitable" accident than improving safety and enforcing regulations.Twas ever thus in LOS

In a "normal" civilized, country where people are held accountable for why these events happen and how to prevent it again there would be a thprough investigation into all aspects of this tragedy,if only out of respect to the families of the 19 dead.Furthermore this would be all over the media ,the victims families would be getting publicity and demanding law changes with regard safety and enforcement and public pressure would great enough to ensure that. Will this happen in Thailand?I know, silly question.

if only,k sara saraWe have sorted the court out about asking for money. We did a deal with the judge (exact details withheld). I sent my lawyer, and we borrowed two lawyers from my wife's boss (he is a Thai Chinese businessman and has two lawyers permanently on his payroll). So three lawyers ganged up against him. Funny how things are done here; in the UK law is based on test cases; over here its much more about doing deals and signing contracts so its water tight.
I would advise anyone who gets into legal wrangles here not to trust anyone and get everything signed for and in writing. Often I don't even trust my lawyer so we also use my wifes bosses lawyers to double check (they have no interest in my case). As usual, look out for the shinangans and playing games with you. Apparently the court holds over 80 parcels of papers concerning my case so you can see the amount of going back and forth there has been!
Money is due to paid out by the end of August; if the court don't release the money they have to give me double what is owed. Either way I win. Its interesting to note that in terms of Thai law, everyone is equal, including foreigners. So for those who say foreigners cannot win cases in Thailand, I disagree.
Because of confidentiality and the name and shaming laws, I have not shared any details about the case or named anyone.

Watched it wall to wall on website livenewschat ,so need no lectures from the "not guilty" brigade. Zimmerkiller was guilty as hell but with an all white female jury, and hearing the incredible comments of juror B37 after the verdict. He was never going to be found guilty by them.
-
really ? Where's your proof of Zimmer being attacked? Just more rhetoric from the gun totting ,racists.Fact is a young black boy was pursued by a man with a gun and then shot in the chest and is dead and the killer wasn't held responsible and can keep his gun and do it again .So go and give to zimmerkillers legal fund because he's going to need it in the months and year to come.I am a bit shocked your being so irrational and refuse to review the facts and testimony. I thought you were level headed and reasonable. If you can cite countervailing evidence (not you conclusory statements), I would respect that.
Don't be shocked. Just read whatever is being said on the far-left blogs and it will be the same exact rhetoric regurgitated by some posters here. There is very little original thinking when it comes to bashing George Zimmerman for defending himself from being attacked for no good reason.

George zimmerman will have to have either a face job, relocate, new identity, wear stab and bullet proof vest or maybe all of them

. Makes you happy then? A killer and profiler getting away with it?cheers some folks up after their failed prediction of the defeat of the President last NovemberHe will make a ton of money and justifiably so. He was wronged by both a dishonest media and a corrupt justice system. A malicious prosecution case is pretty much assured as the prosecution purposely withheld evidence about Trayvon's criminal activities. Any civil case against him will have very little chance of winning because he can invoke the stand your ground law in defense which gives him lots of protection. He deserves some good luck for a change and things are looking up.

So buddism/religion/ hypocrisy with politics in Thailand is up for discussion now here?We can have a"field day"

And a guy weighing more than the"kid" ,and with MMA training, lied enough times for a lifetime to cover up the fact he shot an unarmed kid through the chest and then turned him over.As Trayvon told his friend at the time ,"this creepy ass cracker". is following me. This is another example of Floridas screwed up laws and state, They haven,t really got it right back as far not being able to count votes in 2000.

I watched 90 % of this trial and the incredible way the defense spun the trial was sickening .Zimmer profiled and killed a 17 year old kid and them told around 40 lies after the event.Goes on tv and says it was "gods plan" . Florida justice has failed a dead person.

I have said for along time that it's about time foreign countries started warning its citizens about the REAL dangers in Thailand. The Fact that taxi drivers often carrying weapons, usually handguns or knives, we can add SWORDS to the list

Cant find a thread on this.
Looking for help. I want to transfer around 40,000 GB sterling to my Bangkok Bank account from a UK bank account, I cannot seem to get an email address for information/contact on the Bangkok bank website. Has anyone had experience of transferring and the procedure?
I want to use this money for purchasing a condo in Thailand. I also have been told that to do this a buyer has to show the money has come from a foreign country account(Siam Legal told me this in an email) . Would appreciate help on these matters,
