How many times can someone enter Thailand on a tourist visa, leave the country within the allotted days (30 or 60 - or 90 on an extension), and re-enter again? Is this something that can be done perpetually? Or do the border patrol eventually say, Sorry?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Certainly not the authoritative source on business formal wear, Lonely Planet suggests that most Thai businessmen wear off-the-rack 100% polyester suits. How accurate is this assessment?
I am moving to Bangkok from Chicago in October on business, and the majority of my suits are 100% cotton or wool. From a practical standpoint, these will obviously be a bit "warm."
My question is this: Is my best bet to bring all of my suits from the US, or should I plan to buy lighter-material suits once I get to Thailand? What should I expect to spend on a decent-quality suit there?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hello,
I have read several posts but still have a few fairly straightforwad questions:
** Am I able to obtain a non-immigrant visa without already having secured employment in Thailand? Or is a letter of sponsorship from a Thai company required beforehand?
To give a brief background on my situation: In October 2005, I am planning to move to Bangkok and spend 12-24 months working there. I am a young and educated professional seeking a "sabbatical" of sorts, and I would ideally like to arrange my visas here, and my employment when I get to Bangkok.
Any direction you can give me on the logistics of the visa process would be greatly appreciated. As I understand the process, one needs to first get the Non-Immigrant 'B' Visa in his/her home country and then, once in Thailand, apply for a work permit. Is this correct?
** Also, is a one-way plane ticket an acceptable/advisable move (assuming I am able to get the visa)?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I am moving to Bangkok and will be working on Soi Asoke (Soi 21). Does anyone have specific apartment recommendations (web links would be great)?
Are there any cool areas around Lumphini Park that are easily accessible to the Skytrain? I am young (26) and primarily interested in location - proximity to fun restaurants and other young people, but preferably not tourists - and safety. I will sacrifice size and cost for these other two factors. My target price range is around 20,000THB/month. Is this reasonable?
It seems that with Chulalongkorn University nearby, this area would be vibrant. Is this assessment accurate? Where do young expats typically settle?
Where would you recommend to someone in my shoes?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
