    Wow... really?

i first came to Thailand with my wife... then later relocated here with her... not everybody reverts to their basest instincts, just because they visit exotic Thailand.

take yourself outside and give yourself a good slapping, son

Wow? Does it surprise you the country is a temptation,  I never once said everyone would revert to temptation,  what is fact mate regardless if you agree or not a skin full of drink and claddly dressed women are a temptation to a high percentage to red blooded males, my post was not written to create a pointless argument,  it was my thoughts on taking your partner to a country that could throw up temptations and possible problems as I have witnessed bar girls coming onto couples, by the sound of things and your pointless response,  I guess your misses allows you to post as long as she can moderate your account,  as to be fair , your input makes no sense , not even a rip to the poor girl the topic is about, straight on an attack on a point that was not aimed at you or everybody, just my personal thoughts on the temptations of exotic Thailand as you put it, I will not swoop to your levels and return the attack on you, as obviously can not win against someone who does not read posts or points as they are meant, if anyone needs to be taken outside look in the mirror mate.

whatever the reason of the argument, the boyfriend has to live with that image for the rest of his life, hope he is strong enough to carry the guilt that he must feel

Couldn't agree more, terrible to even consider the burden of such circumstances,  hate to think what is going through his mind at the moment, thailand is definitely not the place to go on holiday with your girlfriend / wife, it's a country of temptation,  I hope he receives compassion and the support he will need right now, as the guilt will be massive and the mind is a unforgiving place

You are right in what you say Alex,  but the thing is he will feel guilty that's how the mind works, it thrives on situations and throws up many questions over and over, it's a sad situation,

  3. I don't normally comment on posts or latest news although an active reader of the site, firstly r.i.p to the young lady who for whatever reason as left this plaine, . My first travels to thailand was way back in 1998 somewhat 19 years ago and still we hear about the deaths of young people dying, for a buddist country they certainly is a lot of deaths which are passed off a suicide and the police showing a lack of great concern in solving these cases, so in the last week they are 3 brits who have committed suicide by hanging themselves,  I find this rate alarming , the couple last week we're bound, thailand is like the devils play ground, England homes many religions and yet we do not hear of such stories yet in a buddist country were it is portrayed as peace etc, we hear such acts, when will thailand wake up? When will tourists wake up? This is one dangerous country , dangerous then most the middle east , I say this as at least with the middle east you are aware of the dangers, we're as in thailand the dangers are masked with beauty

I am losing the effection I have for this country as concerns regarding safety and cover ups continue to get more bizarre year on year, but yet the tourists flock, balcony jumping is now old news and looks like hanging is the new craze

Stay safe people , best wishes and thoughts

  4. Well it seems Mr Aldhouse, made a big mistake by not pleading guilty, As he will certainly be found guilty 100% and I would take the bet even at odds on, my thoughts are that his intentions were to plead guilty that day, as instructed by his solicitor and was a plan devised by himself and his legal team, I think the mear thought of the big tiger, quickly made him think again , as even if guilty plea entered he was getting 15 years , without a doubt, and even if I was wrong in thinking this , I believe the big tiger is now a reality and he probably knows now he made a massive mistake, as that story will not add up, and then to state a witness , who from other posts seem to be a victim of his violence, lets not forget that the girlfriend in question was never going to be a witness , as the plan was to plead guilty, so witness talks never took place, and I believe the ex girlfriend will not want to be invovled in this one bit, because at the end of the day , the likelyhood is , she helped him escape justice in the first place, which is assisting an offender- So, if these 2 are still friends and she happens to give the odd visit here and there , he has not only secured a definite transfer to the big tiger , he has lost probably one of a only few people who would be visiting him - I would of thought after all the fighting and trying to get off with his actions, time had arrived to plead guilty and finally setting about clearing up the mess he had created aswell as reducing the potential damage he was inflicting on himself , by avoiding the roaring belly of the big tiger, because if he thinks the remand centre is bad, then he is in for a big surprise on his transfer

  5. I enjoy listening to you's guy's as guess they is some great info to learn , I personally think some of the gov schemes are incrediable , especially the tax relief - Imagine investing £10,000 and only having £200 at risk or 2% of investment at stake - as a potential expat I would be seriously considering the UK investment route under the SEIS scheme, its a no brainer - especially if you have taxes to pay - the tax can become an investment rather then given to the taxman - for example You decide you want to leave the UK and sell up maybe a rental property, this is subject to 40% tax - you invest the said amount and then qualify for further tax relief on other taxable investments to the tune of 50% of your original investment - and the investment secures shares, which is also CGT FREE - Crazy , One of the Dragons Doug Richard said its one of the most extrodinary incentives ever created , yet few know or use this method, I think its the golden ticket for expats , and the deeper I look into it the better it gets

  6. Was more or less thinking of someone thinking of retiring abroad really , as it helps remove a tax burden on the CGT on previous investments, plus the tax relief removes the risk of investment , but you are right if your UK tax is zero then obviously it would not benefit yourself, unless you had an investment to sell of the CGT would fall under the SEIS, so if looking on it that way , You would have no risk what soever really would you.

  7. Hi Folks, as a new member and spending this morning reading a few threads I am quiet surprised some of you guy's are not talking about or considering the UK SEIS tax relief scheme's

In a nut shell it would be an expats ultimate investment opportunity , which removes a big percentage of risk on investments placed which is as high as 98% - so say you invested £10,000 to receive dividends you only risk £200 of the investment placed but have a £10,000 investment in equity , this has a double edge of the sword, as not only does this remove the potential risk , it also removes a big tax burden if you are considering selling up to fly off to sunnier climes, Assuming that some would be considering selling rental properties rather than been a tax burden as rentable income is taxable, if you sold a property rather than paying the taxman 40% CGT - this amount could be the sole investment rather then paying the same amount to the HMRC - and this amount would then be eligable to a further 50% tax relief of the investment placed - so infact you would be in a win win win situation from day 1

I am not a tax advisor or claim to be as such , but what I do know after spending the last 2 years creating an investable company is that this scheme is unbeleivable and is a perfect solution for someone considering retiring abroad

*Removes a tax burden (renting out property (ies)

*Removes CGT gains on said properties ( releasing retirement funds)

*50% further tax relief on any other investment or business incomes

*Removes the risk on your investments placed upto 98% (although the investment placed is from CGT which otherwise would of been paid to taxman in the first place)

    *Dividend return on investment placed

*And the shares gained from investment are CGT FREE - if held for longer then 3 years

*Shares sold at a profit CGT free also

And as a final note : The investment placed and the dividends paid could possible enable you to adhere to the financial requirements for a retirement visa

    *Bank account showing THB 800,000

*Monthly income of at least THB 65,000

    *Combination (Bank account + income x12 = THB 800,000
