  1. I have just heard from close thai friends with kids starting university who a little while ago bought a Mercedes SUV and just bought their new licence plate for 100k baht. That is one hundred thousand baht. So around $330 US. This they say is all for good luck.... a cultural and religious thing. So between the PM and his usual jibber jabber and this idea that numerology works and spending money on a license plate rather than on what children's education.... right on! Good plan. Good play. The mindlessness is astounding

  2. Should have happened a while ago now the moment that the Delta variant raised it ugly head. But no... the Sandbox idea was so much more important than the rest of the country! Must bring in the money.... spent on an island and not throughout the country (well.... for 14 days at least). This is not going to get better and now with Thailand trying to sign into the international vaccine procurement program that everyone else in the region did but Thailand was too cheap to do (or rather too far in bed with China to do)... well we will see what happens. But the situation is not going to get better and there will be more people dyeing and the hospitals will be further stretches than they already are (already sending people to home to quarantine).

"Patients is require, The is situation is fluid,  It is a process".... but enough with those usual government issued explanations... just GET A MOVE ON!

Embassies are not there to provide help for those that should have provided for themselves and didn't.

Medical insurance is an obvious requirement of travel in foreign climes, and there is IMO no excuse for not having it if it is needed.

I fail to see why it is the responsibility of those unknown to the OP. There are billions of people on the planet that need help, but none of us can change that with what disposable income we might have available.

I have never assumed that strangers would come to my financial aid in a crisis, and so far I have not been proven wrong, indeed, some of my so called friends have even stolen from me. That'll teach me for being too trusting.

Embassies ARE there for just that!

Domestic tourism in the US is red hot.  Hotels selling out, can't get rental cars, etc.  Vaccines are the way to go.  Sad Thailand put all it's eggs in one basket.  They're going to pay the price for this....

Hopefully, but I doubt it, they'll back away from mass tourism.

No idea where you get that about US travel. Yes it is soon Memorial Day weekend and that makes it a special national holiday. The next is July 4... again a special holiday. But to say the domestic tourism is hot... nope... it is just right now with the national holiday.

That's not just rubbish, that's total rubbish. If you are not vaccinated you can enter most of the countries with a negative PCR test. There is no denial of entry because you are vaccinated with the vaccine X. If not vaccinated, or vaccinated with unapproved vaccine, negative PCR test is good enough for most of the countries. Furthermore, how the immigration would know if I'm vaccinated with unapproved vaccine if I don't tell them?

Well... good luck.  Oh and they would know as you would have to show them documents and test results if you went that way.

Rubbish. I haven't read anything about any country planning denying entry to people due to the flavor of shots they have. They can't even make their minds up about 'vaccine passports' for God's sakes.

Try and get in a plane to a country that does not recognize Sinovac. .. direct flight or not. Then if you do manage it... then be ready to deal with the health people and tests and waiting and self quarantine. All are possible... if you are even allowedto board or enter.

Then there is the question...  as of now still not answered ... can you have had the Sinovac and then get one of the others?

But DO get vaccinated! Otherwise you are still potentially part of

Where did you get that from or is it just another racist opinion.

Racist?! How was that racist! Check with the WHO... the US and EU CDCs . Sinovac is not been approved yet for emergency use. Sorry... but facts are facts and they have nothing to do with anti any country BS. it is not China bashing.

I like China for the most part for doing more at least for its citizens than any one else overseas.

  8. Unfortunately though getting vaccinated is a great thing to do and we ALL should be get our jabs...  Sinovax is not recognized as an approved Covid vaccine in the EU, the US, the UK, Australia, the US CDC or the WHO... or a lot of other places. So good luck there guys. But wonderful that you managed to get it for sure. Just be aware that international travel to many countries the fact that you have been vaccinated with Sinovax will not mean a thing.

But it's never been there to provide free medical treatment for it's expat citizens.

Well.... in the 70s in Spain during the Cholera epidemic... I and my family received our vaccinations by US Navy and Marine Corpsmen at a US consulate.  So, they certainly do have the capability and the personnel to do it. Besides, they would be given on US soil and as Thais and other nationalities are getting their vaccinations in the US.... so.... if Thailand or anyone else wants to see the US doing for their citizens as some sort of "special treatment"...  so be it.

By the way, what is the British Home Office doing?
