How thick were the last two posts?
-
All those countries were once encompassed by the Khmer Empire ... that's where their similar cultures come from ... and why Thais hate Cambodia.
-
Large squirrel. They're everywhere.

Joke of the Week
Is Thailand well positioned to be a regional education hub?
-
Why this cynicism against Thailand?
Good one! ... Got any more?

I would say by the shape of the head, its Poisonous, leave alone.
If I don't know what it is, the shape of the body normally does it for me to leave it alone........................
If I don't know what it is ... I don't care what shape it's bits and pieces are ... I just leave it alone.

These wildlife photo and identification threads are fascinating.
I agree Spock.

Congratulations on not whacking it with a shovel like recent posters with newly discovered wildlife in their backyards.

Should Coffee Houses and Fast Food Restaurants be allowed to Charge an Overstay Fee?
Of course they should be allowed to do that. As long as they display the condition on a prominent notice on the wall.
All business's should be free to cut their own throats if that is what they wish.

I thought they were called something like Tookae
They are.

Looks like the Aussies--one of the larger sources of tourists--were left out in the cold on this one,
Embarrassingly immature of them, I think.

How long is a piece of string?

1 German beggar versus 1000s of orange robed ones on the streets every morning. Hmmm

I went through this before. Doesn't really hurt, but looks like hell. 3 weeks of antibiotics. and it is taken care of. I cannot imagine milking this to get money. Fix the damn thing!. Even the government hospitals know how to cure this without a problem.
No you didn't.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macrodystrophia_lipomatosa
Macrodystrophia lipomatosis is a rare, congenital form of localized gigantism of fingers or toes. Almost always unilateral and can involve both the upper extremities (usually in the distribution of the median nerve with the index and middle fingers most commonly involved) and in the lower extremities (usually in the distribution of the plantar nerves). Predominantly fibroadipose tissue produced in association with arteriovenous fistulas or localized hyperplastic vascular and lymphatic elements. Can be associated with neurofibromatosis type I or Klippel Trenaunay syndrome. Radiographically, it appears as hypertrophy of soft tissues and bones. The pathologic findings are infiltration and hypertrophy of adipose tissue in subcutaneous tissue, nerve sheaths, and periosteum. Macrodystrophia lipomatosa is usually diagnosed at birth or during the neonatal period.
Uncurable.

I'm thinking. If he was blind rather than being semi crippled ... would the lynch mob here have a different attitude?
Perhaps it's because he's successful at his "gig" and has taken it "on the road"? that has raised people's ire. If he only begged in Germany, sucked at it and never travelled...would that be OK?
Is it only OK to beg if you are a failure at it?
Thinking, thinking.... -
Let's see. I need a county that's filthy rich AND gullible. Where to go? Where to go?
It wouldn't be Thailand or the Philippines for me!
How about Japan?

That is only possible if a work permit application has been done and there is supporting documents from an employer equal to those needed for an extension of stay.Just arrive on a tourist visa. Get it converted in-country at Immigration to a Non B. Simple.
(Provincial Immigration Departments are also doing the conversion now..no need to go to Chang Wattana in BKK)
The person mentioned wants a multiple entry non-o visa for business purposes not working.
Three new teachers at my school..on tourist visas, no work permit yet...got it done at Chanthaburi Immigration a month ago. were told that all provincial offices are doing it now. That's all I know.

Wasn't there a story of him going to Manila ages ago?

Khun Lek: "Arai nah?!!"

Three pages of the least discussed topic in Thailand (by Thais that is)
Wow!

What's wrong with just changing her nickname? All Thais have one. Or are the Numpty Numerology powers that be only satisfied with official on paper changes?
Were these magical influences around hundreds of years ago when Thais didn't even have a surname, much less having their first name recorded anywhere? Or did they suddenly come into existence along with bureaucracy and paperwork?
Thank God I'm a non believer. Life is so much easier. Err... not "God". I mean....err, never mind.

I'm deeply in love with Thailand
You're in the "Honeymoon" phase ... Be sure to post again when you're in the "Divorce" stage. It will be interesting to compare the two threads.
Thailand, burma, cambodia, laos all seem to have the same culture
in Laos General Chat
Posted
The Kymer Empire was well and truely established BEFORE Laos, Burma and Thailand (and Cambodia which WAS the Khmer Empire) Those countries developed their cultures FROM the Khymers. If you want to insist that there are NO similarities ... good for for you. Live in ignorance.
As for the Scots ... their culture was established BEFORE the English took over.
Like I said ... those posts are thick as mud.
PS...I've lost count of the times I've been to Laos over the years, I've visited Cambo many times and lived and worked there and I've made 3 visits to Myanmar.
I rest my case.
