Just transfer a lump of money into a Thai friends bank account and get them to give you the cash. Or are we saying all the cam girls, penpals and family donations/gifts from abroad will be declaring this money and be subject to tax too?

Give me fcukin break. This tax thing will be thrown in the bin.

    Exactly!!!

"the cam girls, penpals and family donations/gifts from abroad will be declaring"???

    not in a million years

  2. Thank you Sheryl, I always appreciate your quick response and your comprehensive infos.

I am familiar how things work in government hospitals, anyhow, thank you for detailed description of processes, and esp. for the freezing environment, which I also experienced at the Institute of Dermatology the other day. So i will keep this in mind.

In HH hospital creatinine values differed a lot in several checks from 163, 1,53 and then 1,75. So still high.

eGFR was 45,08 an then 38,32

Ultrasonography showed kidneys in small size: 8.3 and 7.9.

It is time to have a more in-depth examination carried out.

Will try to contact chula the next days.

    Thank you again, Sheryl!

  3. Can anyone recommend a nephrologist in a government Hospital in Bangkok? I am diagnosed stage three renal failure (from Hua Hin hospital) and would like have a more in depth analysis of the root cause and possible treatment. I have already some experience with state run hospitals (in other matters) and would like to prefer one of those. Doctors usually speak decent English and I speak enough Thai to get around with the nurses. Maybe Sheryl has some good advice…

  4. I got a ticket for passing a red light in the middle of Hua Hin. A former neighbor came to bring me the ticket as I  had changed my living place in the meantime. I went to the police station but they send me away as paying the ticket is done at the post office. I went there and paid but was not asked for my driving licence. As a warning: Respect the red light of the main crossing on Phetkasem Road of roads 77 and 55 as it is heavily armed with CCTV and many reports in the meantime.

  5. This camp is really off the beaten track but a little treasure in itself. Way back in time we enjoyed picknicking on the green lush riverside meadows of the Pranburi River and even bathing in the shallow waters. The camp is well worth a visit not only for nature lovers as many places/installations can be accessed free of charge or with a small fee (swimming pool). It even has its own hospital and a small evening/night market. The camp is vast in exent. So be sure to have your own transportation. At the entrance you have to leave an id document, which you will pick up when you exit. Enjoy!

On another note. I do not drive and get around by public transport.

Does anybody know what the current price for the green songtaew and an average for a motorcycle taxi in Hua Hin?

As for the green songtaew (the locals call them "rot takiab") the price increased to 15 Baht (previously 10). As to my knowledge prices for motorcycle taxis have stayed the same. They might range from 30 to 60 Baht, depending on distance.

  7. After Thai FDA has approved Novavax it was shipped from an Indian manufacurer (name of Covovax) to Thailand in April (200.000 doses). But when asking in official vacination stations nobody has ever hear of this vaccine, even in state run hospitals. So where to get? Would it be available in Bang Sue? Anybody here has had a shot with this vaccine?

  8. As Novavax is now approved from Thai FDA and shipment of 200.000 doses were already air lifted from India to Thailand last month I am curios to know where to get the shots. I tried Hua Hin hospital today, but nobody had a clue. There are vaccinations every Tuesday in Blueport, but the girl was not sure about Novavax and gave me the hospital number.

Anyone had a vaccination with Novavax? Where? I would even go th other places around here or Bangkok to get it.

  9. I wonder if anybody came to Thailand being fully vaccinated with Novavax.

Any advice and handling at the airport would be appreciated.

TAT says in a message appearing February 21, 2022 on their website:

International travellers, including returning Thais and foreign residents, who are above 18 years of age, planning to travel to Thailand under either the TEST & GO and Sandbox entry schemes must get fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) no less than 14 days before their travel date.

Same is said on the Berlin Thai Embassy website.

Novavax is already approved by WHO, so travelling to Thailand with that vaccine should be possible.

Please share your experiences, if any...

  10. I apologize if this topic has been discussed before.

I met a friend yesterday who reported that Hua Hin immigration asks for proof of vaccination when applying for NON O visa extension. To my knowledge Thai immigration hasn't published any mandadory proof of vaccination for the country as a whole when applying for visa extension. So could anybody more informed please shed some light into this matter.
