I usually drop in at the Amazon close to Ayutthaya Hotel in the mornings at my infrequent visits.
Good coffee and I'm usually the only customer that early.

You got something called Foreign Currency Deposit Account. I looked at this in Bangkok Bank some time ago. Guess most of the bigger banks got it.
I connected my Thai card to Paypal and use it the same way as my european card. Just had to register it for online use, that was all.

Here is something I see all day, everyday. We move things around from time to time but this is how it looks today.
Open and spacious. Looks to be a nice place to sit and contemplating life :-)

I believe the bus accident were late afternoon yesterday. I saw four ambulances driving in that direction.
Felt a little sorry for you today in the rain !
Nice photos as usual :-)

Beautiful! But you have left for the north already then :-(

Wonderful photos! Lives in Isaan and is happy here, but I visited Chiang Mai and really fell in love with this northern part of the Kingdom. I even felt safe on the road compared to what I'm used too :-)
Planning a to drive up north in may, something I really looks forward to.
Thanks a lot for this view into this beautiful part of Thailand.

As stated, I wonder if there is any Norwegians in here that has moved adress permanently to Thailand.
If so I would very much like some advice about the prosess.
Have looked at some of the forms and would like clarifications about some of the documentation needed.

Sad news this. A great author with a very productive life. His books are among those that may be read again and again.
RIP Mr. Pratchett.

Not that much to say to this. It's a little tiring to be honest, constantly being seen as as a walking atm to be milked. But it's not up to me to write up the policy for tourists, so I will simply stay away from the parks.

Thanks for all the info. I'm sure all will work out nicely and I may get some good rides around the area.

I will visit Chiang Mai 4-5 days in march. My wife will be busy in the days attending a seminar and I would like spending the days biking up in the mountains.
But is there somewhere to rent a good quality bike? Would prefer a hybrid mountain / road bike. Don't fancy bringing my own bike on the plane.
Would be grateful for any tip.

A really wonderful photo journal Michel, maybe I give Phupalek a try again this week so I can keep up with you

Wonderful photos, and a lot of km's. Very interesting !

No, I'm not worried. I do think about the future but see no need to conjure up any bad news. I will follow the rules and live by them as best I can.
If they gets to complicated and makes me jump to much around, well then I will have to make adjustments. Move back, or find a new quiet spot to settle down.
So in short, I really don't worry.

Been living in Isaan for nearly 3 years now and just had my first visit to Chiang Mai. Now I just ask myself why I didn't end up there instead ;-)
Of course, I just had 6 days there, but I really, really liked the city. And again, only 6 days, but even the people seemed to be
a lot nicer.
Point of this post, nothing really. Just to let you Chiang Mai people know that I think you live in a very nice spot :-)

Have seen some foreigners around on bikes, but haven't managed to catch them.
I lives about 13 Km from Sawang Daen Din. Usually bikes daily between 45-60 km with some up to a 100 km, so quite relaxed.
But it would have been nice with company sometimes.

Here's your itinerary:
Day 1 - Air or bus from Bangkok to Siem Reap, stay two nights and see Ankor the following day, option to stay longer if so inclined.
Day 3 - Boat to Phnom Pen, stay PP two nights, spend next day sight seeing - option to extend if required.
Day 5 - Chances are that you've added an extra day in SR or PP and since you only want to spend a week max, it's time to return to BKK by air or bus.
This tour organised by CM Tours Inc, please ensure all cheques are made payable to the same.
Thanks a lot from me to for this info. After two years in Thailand I'v had my fill and times up for moving. Knows very little about Cambodia so threads like this is very useful.
