  1. A month ago I could buy tomatoes at 15 baht per Kg yesterday the price at Tesco was 59 baht per Kg Big C 55 baht per Kg !

15 B per kilo??? Wow where is that? The cheapest i have ever found them was 21 or 22, the average price is 28 and i usually give them a skip when they jump up to 32

Many market stalls in Khon Kaen but if I'm not mistaken I've seen the same prices in Makro this was just a month ago or so.

Today Tesco price was 59 baht per Kg.

  2. Supertuktuk, if you are legitimate, and still looking for a house, PM me, the 3 bedroom house I lived in, in Mukdahan, is for rent, I lived in it for a year. Great house, great location. Perfect for one or two people. The bedrooms are small. I put the bed in one and the wardrobe in another. The third so called bedroom is very small, but made a perfect office. 5 years ago the rent was ฿3,000, and it looks like it has been painted so ฿4,000 isn't a bad increase. One plus is you pay the electric and water bill yourself, or at least I did, so no jacked up rates. This house is almost walking distance to Macro, so a good location, it is at the end of a quiet road, so very quiet. It has a small walled in yard.

Thank you very much for your real help!

Thanks God in these days I have found what I was looking for and fixed my problems.

    Thanks a lot!

  3. Hello just new here but if you really want peace and quiet for you and your dog with ample space and you have a budget of between 3000/7000 per month then may I suggest a small city called kalasin which is 80km from KK and opportunities to rent are buoyant here.

Internet is good thus far via true move, I'm 1 mile from the centre of the city.

This is very much solitude I see the odd farang like myself but very few and far between.

I initially booked a hotel here for 1 month to get a good understanding of the area But as you have a dog this may not be possible.

    Good luck with the search

    Thank you

the problem is not the location, unless you are fluent in the Thai language you can go around and even find advertising signs ให้เช่า = for rent

but then you will not able to deal with landlords this is the main problem !

Sorry mate your in thailand so it's not really a problem it's thailand it's a challenge is what it is and the only way your going to find your ideal place is getting used to the obstacle and getting on with it, it's called trial and error if you visit 1 spot and give up you learn nothing if you visit 3 you will hopefully get some instinct on what to do and what to say be it english or thai. If you visit 10 spots you will be more than capable of assessing the spot, the people and you will likely succeed. Some good advice in these posts - sign etc on paper so good luck and keep us informed on your search as I think new obstacles will emerge such as contract in thai etc. Make a plan and stick to it good luck.

This is what I am trying to do between some obstacles as you say.

However thanks to you and all those who seriously want to give help.

  5. OP, it's obvious you are stressed. Don't rent without listening to your gut....I made that mistake a few times just to get away soon, but the next 6-months were not fun. one problem traded for another.....

also, remember, we don't judge...if you want to get stuff off your chest, feel free to vent here. don't keep it inside IF it increases stress..

we have all had pretty bad stress..

    wish you well.

Thank you very much for your understanding message.

  6. Misterphil This could be your lucky day.

Not sure why you want to live in an expat

community, but I currently live in Australia

village Muak Lek, which as mentioned is

next to what is now known as Asia Pacific

University, so a fair smattering of expats

    in the village.

The good news is am about to vacate my

    full-on European style rented house

(two years old) within the next month

if you are interested, otherwise several

    other properties available.

    DICK TURPIN

    Where are these properties available?

  8. Hi when do you need house????? How much money are you looking at paying. Have you got transport????. You say not far from city how many kms distance are you willing to look at.

I need the house soon as possible, small house1/2 rooms because I am living alone with my 2 dogs.

I do not a big space because then I need to keep clean and nobody do this for me.

I have motorbyke but I do not travel by bike so far (I am 60 y.o.) so i am looking something not too far from the city center around 7/8 km

  9. Here in Udon Thani you can find ok houses to rent, we are having a house of four rooms and two baths for 5000 b month. If you want to have fully furnished you may pay about 6000-7000 b month in the area, we are living at. Only 10 minutes from city center. JJ

I know Udon is a good place with many houses for rent but if do not speak thai things are not so easy!

  10. Watch DDproperty, it has been spammed by agents with non-existing rentals.. I spent a few weekend tracking down properties from location and photo (to cut out the middleman) and in Korat only 10% seemed genuine. Spoke to one householder and they said it was up for rent 4 years ago... They clue is with the agent name and photo... She is merely fishing for contacts.

yes you are absolutely right! there is an agent in Udon with many ads all fake, non-existing rentals even in the province of Nakhon ratchasima, Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai Rayong always the same agent!

Hope you have finally found somewhere.

Look in the Thailand Classified section of thaivisa.

You don't specify what area you are looking for but state you were in KK.

Unfortunately, I think, one of the difficulties is that you have a dog. I love all animals but many Thai's, even in the countryside don't accept tenants with dogs / cats.

I have posted about a place in Banphai which is about 45K south of Khon Kaen.

There seem to be some nice offers already in the posting above.

I wish you well and good luck in your search.

Unfortunately I have not found anything.I am looking everywhere in Isaan or even Saraburi

The biggest problem is that I do not speak thai and I have not a gf or thai friends , I found some ads on Kaidee or DDProperty but landlords don't speak english

I will continue to seek even someone thai english speaking who can help me.

    Thanks

Just a bit of a long shot, but many Thai/Chinese have travel agents and know a lot of the business people in towns. They usually speak good English so it might be another option?

    Thanks for your kind adivice!

  14. Try ddproperty.com...........

.........Surely there must be some property selling agents in KK who also rent.

........Do what I do every winter when I arrive, ride around the roads on the back of my Thai girlfriend's motorbike looking for 'to rent' signs with phone #s. If u dont have a Thai girlfriend/boyfriend to help, find a young Thai lady/man/student who speaks some English and explain and offer to pay them to take you around on a mbike. It may be a good opportunity to meet and start a new relationship or make a new Thai friend.

my wife has a three bedroom town house for rent in khon kaen phone me on 0903422467 if you are interested

thanks it would be great but i think is too big for me as i am living alone
