"...She is just acting like a government spokesperson, free of charge. Is that wrong?..."

Is that wrong? Yes, when the government in question came to power via coup, severely restricted the Thai people's rights and freedoms, jailed or exiled its opponents, and is in the process of trying to rig an election to stay in power illegitimately.

I hope that the Thai people treat her like she has a tattoo on her forehead stating that she has syphilis.

You are a sincerely sick person. You suggest anti-dictatorship, however you want people to be branded like by the Nazi's just because they share a different opinion.

Where I come from, when you rub your fingers together like that it means I want cash? Maybe another TV member can enlighten?

I am very sorry for your loss Samran, your son was a brave man, doing a job that he felt he should do. RIP.

Putting the fingers like that together makes it look like a heart (shape) as such it represents a gesture of love.

  3. Just to add to the story, this is news brought out by governmental critics, nothing has been engraved in stone yet as no proposals have been processed by the parlement. If you read carefully, it only says that it might happen. as for civil servants, most salaries are capped and are low for the work done, so in exchange they receive some perks, but in the matter of healthcare, the civil servants do pay quite a lot to the system.

  4. Actually I think this will be very effective, the speed camera's in Khon Kaen, capture thousands every day going over 80 KM per hour on a 5 Lane road. there are a lot of warning signs all along that stretch.

However people get their fine (800 THB) nicely send home with pictures of the car, location and number-plate. Almost feel like being back in Holland.

I believe it is BS!!! The city need the license money and the hotel taxes.

Why this hotel owners not make it public and report it to the press? If they apply in the public and not get it they can make problem. But if you not have the needed licenses  you not must pay the proper TAX!!! Maybe this is the reason!!!

Or they not have the required equipment & staff. More infos for apply a hotel license:   https://pugnatorius.com/hotel-license/

Actually it's not BS, the majority of hotels, find it difficult to get their hotel licensed, just because the issuing party is reluctant in case of no "bonus" issued to them. some cities, requests of bonuses are exceeding ten's of millions, and thus the smaller or not connected hotels have no chance to get this license, ever. I have been in the Thai hotel business for 20 years and its methods of obtaining the licenses have never changed, trust me to say, that it is really a though job to get the license approved. often that's why hotels will rather pay the brown envelops or donut boxes.

Well than there is something Very Wrong . The government Must Set a Standard  For What to use and or what colour. They Should be. All The Same than the Public knows for sure what's what.not just a van with a siren .one can put a siren in any vehicle and expect other road user to move over and let them pass.Like Unmarked Police cars with a Siren.

So, you make a difference between rich and poor? as this is what foundation medical teams attend too, those whom cannot afford a private treatment. This month it is just enforced that all people can be treated for free for the first 72 hours, if it is classified as a emergency, giving ambulances more space to pick up victims and patients. however most are still selective at the call center and request insurance cards. poor people are thus left by these foundation medics and their vehicles.

no the international driverslicense is valid for 90 days, you have to do a borderrun and it's valid again for 90 days...isn't it?

That's whay they told me...well actually (in holland) they told me it's valid for a whole year, when i asked about that 90 day rule they couldn't answer me and had never heard of that strange rule.

Where can we read those rules on a official page?

Actually for people with a tourist visa or other permit to stay for 1 year, the regular validity in Thailand is 90 days, each time, that's correct, however your Dutch International Driver's license can be changed into a temporary drivers license at the Thai local transport office, you do have to sit and watch a video, to a color test and break test, but that's it.

  8. Why are the majority of TV posters so negative towards a countries culture (in this case Thailand), I think it is admirable to preserve the national culture to some extent. nobody is harmed by this and it has proven to raise nationalism to a reasonable level where local people are proud to be Thai.

It has always been a suggestion, and people can choose to follow this or not. How many countries have lost their grounds to "overseas" cultures and norms.

IMO it's not what visitors think about someones culture but the people who are locals or residents.

The whole rebirth of national costumes is not a Junta initiated project, but exists already for decades.

So with 32-1means more mimgling between officers and prisoners than 5-1 ? Thai logic , I guess.

No it's very clear. Officers must (per head) be more present on the prisoners area to cover proper surveyance. However due to increased prisoner contact, this stimulated corruption as well. More officers would mean better check & balance of both prisoners and officers in theory.
