Thanks Mtls.
Actually by following the youtube tutorial it works.
1) Do not forget to unplug the fiber cable from your router when you reset it
2) When set into bridge mode your other router must be able to handle PPoE
3) for me User Name was 123456789@fiberhome and password 123456789
I assume that it is the same for everyone the password is just your user number

Just found this trick which seems to work :
Open the router configuration page using a browser like Google Chrome or Firefox. Right click the password box, select Inspect element.
Search for
<input type="password"....
and remove that bit. It should show the password in plain texthttp://superuser.com/questions/777548/how-to-reveal-pppoe-password-behind-asterisk-in-my-router

I'd ask True, tell them you're not satisfied with the WiFi performance of their router and want to bridge in your own router. They should allow you to do this.
I aksed them but I am waiting for a call back from a special technician for 3 days now. So I would feel better to be independant by doing the change by my own.

You've tried highlighting the existing character string, copying into Notepad, then re-copying and pasting it back in to a new WAN config? That didn't work? (I guess it shouldn't but not sure?)
I am not sure that it would work but I am very scared of screwing up my connection...

Hi,
I want to switch my True Fiber Router into Bidge Mode. I found 2 tutorials In thai which are pretty clkear (even though I do not speak thai).
http://pantip.com/topic/35060773
I am only confused about the part regarding the Fiber ppoe password.
How to get or save this Password ? (true won't reveal the password)
Is it possible to do so with windows instead of Mac OS
Thanks,
Mat

My AIS 50/10 Home package shows a 100.XXXX in the router setup menu but when checking my IP it always give a 49.XXXXX number. So my setup is double-NAT. I wasn't really clear on what double-NAT really means but this link helps me to understand it better: Link
How are the performances ? -

And what does the router show for your WAN IP address? Is it the same 49.x.x.x? Or is it 100.110.x.x?
l.
The router shows 49.x.x.x so I believe that I am not double NATed.
-
I have checked and despite using a "Powerhome" package suscribed more than a year ago the wan IP is 49.x.x.x.
So I am not behind a double nat.
Good news but if I want to upgrade I may need to go for a Powerpro if I want to keep the same specs.

The major difference between the two packages is that the PowerHome you are effectively put on a private network behind a firewall and not on the public internet itself. You have the same public IP address as a large number of other people. Any "advanced" internet services are not guaranteed to work on the private network the same way as on a public internet. Also because you are already going through a "wall" of sorts and the address translated to 10.1.x.x before it even reaches your router... it will slightly affect performance (assuming it will work exactly the same). Your application may not be able to open a port (or you manually) on the public router so that other peer-to-peer network transmissions can find you (torrenting, gaming, and before services like Skype [though I think MS changed the structure now] could/would be affected).
I see...
How can I know if my old "PowerHome" package has been downgraded to this private network behind a firewall ?

Anyone have details on the actual difference between Home and Professional? The advert/web-site seems to almost suggest that its nothing more than having a static IP. An actual technical explanation would have been preferred
I agree I am lost.
When I applied 1 year ago I have choosen an "Home Package" it is paid on the same billing as my phone line which is under company.
When I saw the new attractive rates I wanted to upgrade from 15/5 @ 590 THB to 50/10 @ 888 THB.
Unfortunatelly it is not possible as now they do not accept contract under company with a PowerHome package...
So I can keep my actual home package but it is impossible to change it unless I go to the PowerPro rates.
When I read the terms and conditions I do not see any differences...

That's a good news ! But this information is for Phuket, will it be valid in Bangkok ?

One here from Homepro online shopping.
Thanks !!!

45cm wide doesnt seem big for a Thai, should be able to find someone to wash your dishes quite easily. Not expensive either and there could be many other benefits ...... like cleaning the home too.
A dishwasher come at least with a 1y warranty...

Hi,
In US and Europe it is very easy to find dishwasher with 45cm widht.
In Thailand it seems harder.
Does anyone know where I can find one ?
Thanks by advance,

Dear All,
I have been reading the latest posts and I am a little bit confused.
The answer that everyone wants to know is if AIS is doing better than CAT or TRUE with the VDSL ?
Also streaming test of video in Europe and/or in US can be a good indicator of the ISP performance.
Also I am agree with Muratremix the comparison should be made based with the HOME package not with the PROFESSIONAL package.
My building will get AIS and TRUE fiber and I want to make the right choice.
Have a nice day,

Hi There,
Just in case it happens to someone.
I called True and they understood my problem.
They asked me to unplug the router, then I had to wait for 2mn during the time that she was making some modification in their server. Plugged it again and it worked fin.
I was impressed by their technical service.

Hi,
Since this morning I am having hard time with my Dyndns.
On the router in "Status" the ip is A.A.A.A
But when I use my computer and go to check my ip websites I get B.B.B.B
Means that my computer is not getting the same external IP of my router. Strange no ?
I made router and computer restart (many time) and the problem is still the same (but with different IP on both computer & router).
I do not get it...

Hi AJBangkok,
Thanks for your very interesting reply.
I am in soi Saladaeng, I have no idea if I have a Node nearby or not.
Is there any map of the existing node ?
You are right, they prefer to spend money on wire new condos. But obviously the bangkok CBD district is an area where there are the more people who can "afford" a more expensive Internet plan. And only few building are linked to the cable. Surprising strategy...
You are actually very lucky to have a building management who pushed them to come and do the job. I have a "mai mee/mai dai" management.
Do you mind to ask your building management if they have the contact @ True ? As the call center is not helpful at all !
Also I am sure that I can request the other co-owner to pay for the instalation, I don't know why true does not just charge for the service, it could solve the problem.
Appart from True who are the Cable provider in Bangkok ?

Dear All,
I am living on a condo near Silom which has been built in 2005.
Unfortunatelly we can only have the Hi-Speed Internet ADSL with the Telephone as the building does not have the cable.
Is there a way to request to True to come and to link your building to the Fiber Cable in order to get the ultra High Speed ?
Is it free or will they charge ?
Thanks by advance,
Mat
