  1. Thanks to prevoius good reports here tried my luck today with the revenue service branch in Bonkai, Hua Hin to get refund of paid tax on fixed account interest from 2014.

I could produce all demanded documents and the usual tons of copies but the lady requested a list of all my income comes to Thailand.

She then would "calculate" whatever and any balance would be payout or not.

I live with retirement visa 9 months each year on my own funds transfered to here and do not want to show any records of them to the Thai taxoffice.

Unfortunatly that was a completly other experience as the ones described here where the tax payed on interest from fixed accounts where so easy to get back.

Is anyone here could advise, maybe to avoid this tax office branch? Hua Hin has any other branches or a certain tax office person to speak to who have done that before without any problems?

    Thank you!

  2. Bought 2 large condo units in the oldest condo building in Thailand (almost 40 years old by now). That was in 2007. Refurbished and rent them out. Got elected into the resident committee and have been successful in convincing the other owners to upgrade the building.

Replaced the lifts, repainted the building and will be installing fire detection into the units this year. Putting a new suspended ceiling and LED lights for the common areas is earmarked for next year.

The age old wisdom for investing in RE is to buy the oldest in the best location, as long as it is structurally sound.

Well, your avatar fits because only Superman could get a Thai to repaint a building. tongue.png

Where i live they are painting all the time to cover (repair) the cracks in the wall and humidity running down the walls.

  3. May i ask if anyone here made business with Aurora Gold yet? Their store is at Sukhumvit and they recently opened a Hua Hin branch.

Which attracts my attention is that they advertise 99,9% goldbars. Not very common so far....

By the way, all goldshops in Hua Hin ask for an extra amount "for makin`" or "transport" for their 96,5% goldbars which i was never asked for to pay in Bkk.

    Is that common outside Bkk?

Impossible here to buy for the daily indicated price from Thaigoldprice.com , same with the jewellery where the markup for "make design" mostly is about double of the one shown at Thaigoldprice, at least depending if the design is man or machine made.

At least i noticed that on the assay balance the weight in gramm of for an example one salung of jewellery is never 3,81 gramms as i should be but mostly 0,02- 0,04 gramms less .
