  1. Another great example in how the police focuses on the lesser problems and not on the real problems, that's is teaching the drivers from committing constant road infractions. I understand that having particular car decorations would distract drivers, but how the signs on cars? Aren't those design to attract everyone ? Would the police also stop these vehicles too? I don't think so

  2. Thailand does nothing to make sure drivers understand the road laws and driving etiquette and the police does nothing to stop drivers when committing infractions thus, Thai drivers don't know how to drive safely and unfortunately accidents like this happens. May these people rest in peace

  3. If I bitched and moaned as much as a Bangkok taxi driver, I'd be fired from my job. These guys are a bunch of pussies.

I live in Rangsit and you have no idea how many countless times I had been assigned to taxis from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Rangsit and all I here is complaints and crying about how much traffic there is there, in one case, one taxi driver tried even acting sick and he started driving a no more than 50 kmh after he previously was complaining how far I lived and how he will not be able to get a costumer on his return. I finally had it and told him that will report him after I took all of his details and all of sudden he was well again and finally got home.

  4. It does not surprise me from some Bangkok taxi drivers, these people don't have any etiquette who only think about their own comfort . I have several taxis stop before my destination with lame excuses soon after they finish talking to someone on their cell phone or when they notice too much traffic and don't want to get caught up making money while waiting. The last time this happen to me was one month ago when I took a taxi near Dong Mueang Airport to Kromg 3 in Thanyaburi and as soon as we passed Future Park, he pointed out that he was running out of petro and he triggered off button and let me on the side of the construction where no taxis dare to stop. Funny enough, soon after I paid him and closed the taxi door, miraculously the taxi turn on bad he sped up towards Bangkok. Meanwhile , I had to walk in some areas unto the traffic lanes since the sidewalk was closed due to the construction until I finally reach a point were I can get another taxi.

  5. It does not surprise me in having Nok Air apologizing for the incident and having done that, everything is clear from any wrong doing. Now how pathetic is that, it seems that every time any Thai businesses makes a mistake a simple " I'm sorry" without any further steps learns things , even though the victims are led empty handed! Any proper, legit, well manner and intelligent companies take further steps to compensate in one way or another in other to make the victim more confident that they are taken care off. I myself have had several bad experiences with Nok Air and if I had my way, I will not use them again. I just hope that Nok Air comes out and heavily improves their services in order to gain the trust of not only their costumes but also to show the whole world that they are doing something about.

  6. Thailand can impose as many road rules and regulations regarding what and how people can or can't operate any vehicle wether good or bad , any of these rules are worthless when there's no one out in the streets to enforce them. For the same reason anyone does whatever they want on the road and break even every common sense rules, so theres no reason to follow.

  7. I'm glad tat the complaint (not ranting) opened up the ever existing problem of taxis abusing their services in which this problem of not sing the meter was suppose to be stopped by a law that made it illegal just this last year. Well I guess some of the taxi drivers didn't get the memo!

I'm confused why is it that the report only mentioned the Japanese tourist by name and no mentioned of the taxi drivers name? Is this to make the Japanese man exposed while keeping the Thai driver protected? Doesn't this story make it more at fault and brings the Japanese tourist at risk while the taxi driver is being protected? Shame

  8. I've been living here in Thailand now for over x5 yrs and been noticing an ever increasing number of woman from young to old losing their hair to almost being bald. As for myself, I'm partially bald and when see so many specially Thai woman losing their hair, it must be hard on them due to their vanity. I have also seen many adds for loss of hair treatment, is there an epidemic going on this country? Does anyone know why is this happening and the cause of such event?

  9. With the new tought test will not improve at all the traffic violations, it is the traffic enforcement as a reminder to the drivers breaking the laws. If Thailand is looking for improving traffic safety, the police must do their JOB, be out there and stopping the violators while they make the mistakes and not just do the standard road stops that only benefits their pockets. This country is traffic mayhem and chaos, everyone does whatever they want even right in front of the police or traffic cops. Just imagine the amount of real revenue if the police and the authorities actually do and enforce the traffic laws, Thailand will be able to pay-off all of the lost funds from many bad investments. Wake-up Thailand and focus on the real problem!

  10. Disturbing Video found on FaceBook - While I was scanning my FaceBook massages I came upon this video posted by (เชิดชัยทัวร์ กับที่นั่งเสริม (5/5/57) (see link below) showing a bus from supposedly from Chiang Mai, that has every space including the drivers and all walkways full of people, this bus looked packed, just imagine if this bus had an accident! There seems to be no control on buses or any one checking if these buses are following any rules (yeah right) and this is why there are so many fatalities in Thailand, truly amazing.

  11. It is no surprise that fake passports can easily be made available here in Thailand, it is simply too easy, for many of us expats living here in Thailand, almost all of the banks and many other institutions take photo copies of your passports for many transactions thus making it easy for this information to land on bad hands. Thailand is a country of copies of everything and they simply have what I personally consider the worse organization of records that i have ever seen or else there will be no need to copy every time you go to the any of these institutions.

According to the article, he asked to be taken to the nearest BTS station around 3 am. But the BTS doesn't start running until 6 am. Odd?

It is not odd for any foreigners to ask and be taken to a well known landmark in order to hire a taxi since most foreigners do not speak Thai. So there's nothing odd about this issue. The other issue about this poor man being robed an waiting to report to the police until Monday, I find it also understandable since he must had felt at odds with the police laughing at him after seeking help and waiting to get his senses back until Monday and making a proper report at the police station. Using this incident report in order to report it to his insurance for the 10K in cash that he stated that was taken from him does not sound like a man that would lie to the insurance, 10K is many insurance claims may be too small of a claim after the deductibles.
