ok Thanks but i was told its very expensive for a registered car already but much cheaper for an unregistered car?? ie if it was purchased in UK but not registered buy the dealer is this a different rule for tax etc?? does anybody know the difference thanks.

just wanted some advice please on importing a car to Thailand, i currently live in the UK but we are looking to move to Thailand soon a friend of mine was saying that importing an unregistered car into Thailand is much cheaper does anybody have any experience of bringing a car in, the reason i say this in the UK i can buy a brandnew top of the range Honda Accord for £18,000 in Thailand the same car is about £35,000 so its a massive difference any advice would be appreciated.

HI James, well at the present moment i am living in the UK , but thinking of moving to Nakhon Sawan in about 1.5 yrs time looking to buy a home and make a small shop in the front of the home, it would be great to maybe make some friends before we move out from the UK, maybe could set up small facebook page for expats in Nakhon Sawan? and get some others interested? i guess if you dont try you will never know, and i guess it could be not much fun having nobody to chat too

Thanks 766 for the reply, well at the moment just saving in UK the wife and I looking to buy a home and convert the front into a shop is extension on the front, we have decided to ditch the internet cafe idea and make a shop larger in size, on good thing I will have no mortgage when all this is done' looking at a few online locations most of the new homes seem to be all the same design and they seem to build about 200 units, so the wife is thinking about serving these homes local to us, rather than people having to drive to seven eleven family mart etc so far I can see house cost about £50,000 4 bed etc and to convert and make shop in front of the home I guess about £10,000- 15 this will be paid for with no loans, I would like to think we could make at least £ 500 to £ 750 pcm if all went well.

well now my second post wow getting good at this, just wondering if many Falangs English speaking living in Nakon Sawan use this site, basically in about 1.5 years time looking to sell up and move with Thai wife to Nakon Sawon, we are going to open shop and internet cafe and buy a new home and start a new life.. so i thought i would do some home work to try and find some new friends, maybe make a facebook page for those living in Nakon Sawan, i guess when you move to a new place it nice to find some new friends hence the post today, nothing ventured nothing gained and i might be suprised

ok thanks is it easy to get the visa when in Thailand do you go to a local office in Nakon Sawon would you have an address? and what letter would i need from the bank, basically i would apply for the visa in london for 90 days stay, then all my funds would then be transfered over to my thai bank account once the sale of my home goes through.

Just wanted to say what a great site and this is my first post using the forum so please can you help me.

OK i am married to a thai national and we have been married now for 3 years and now living in the UK, OK we are thinking of moving back to Thailand and i am trying to find out how easy it would be for me to live with my wife and can i apply for a visa in the Thai embassy London? my wifes home town is in Nakon Sawon and currently she is registered living at her mums family home, but we are thinking of selling up to purchased a home in her town, ok as far as saving go i would have about 60K in the bank when leaving the UK, i read that you need to show 400,000 baht in a Thai account in my name only? before making the VIsa is this correct and also when trying to renew it showing the same amount, i really dont want to be leaving the country every 3 months, currently i have my own small business and also work part time in UK, well i hope i have given enough info thanks for all the help and advice.
