does anyone know or have an experience with converting a foreign driver licence to a thai driver licence ? my foreign licence expires in 3 months , and i was told by a licence service that i need to have at least 6 months validity for me to be able to convert it to a thai driver licence .

Update . went today with a day before updated kasikorn bank passbook and was rejected ( they know the branch has closed down ). CW wants same day Kasikorn bank updated bank passbook !!!!!! ( they said go to IT square and do it )

looks like no one has tried to update kasikorn bank passbook the day before ( like the one scb customer who mentioned before has been doing it for a while now without any problems ), The closest kasikorn atm where you can update the passbook same day is at big C cheang wattana 2 ( pak ret) open at 8:00am , a 15 min taxi ride from immigration . or take a chance with a day before update and see what happens !!!

has anyone used the kasikorn bank atm at IT square Laksi to update their bank book the day of retirement visa extension .? is this the closest kasikorn atm to immigration div 1 ? any other closer location? Thanks

Hi is anyone aware of CW immigration allowing Kasikorn bank passbook being updated the day before ( as opposed to insisting on same day ) yet ? Please share your experience .Thank you

Has anyone found out that their non immigrant -O application has been rejected when they went back for their appointment after 14 days what were the reasons ? also has CW immigration been doing home visits during the initial application for non immigrant -O ? how do they set the appointment for this ? Thanks

thank you all for your answers . if the call was for telling me about IO home visit , she could have easily also sent a text message . i am worried about answering the call and then opening the door for"tea money" request. i have already had a bad experience in jomtien office where they offered " extra service " for price in person , face to face .

@mokwit . i have never had a problem with CW before either . i was very surprised by her request for a missed call on her private phone too. she specifically told me that no one will visit me because "my older age , and had worked in Thailand before ".

i think she wants "tea money ". I was told , like everyone else to come back in 14 days for the visa , so i do not think she would call me a half hour later to tell me my visa was approved .

Hi I was applying for a visa exempt to non immigrant O for retirement purposes at CW . the immigration officer said my documents all look complete and fine . then asked to make a missed call to a printed mobile number on a paper on her desk "in case there is a problem " sure enough ,a half hour later ( lunch time ) i get a call from that number but i did not pick it up . no text message . i have a feeling i know what she wants , but i want to try to ignore any further calls and see if she would move on to an easier target .has this happened to anyone before , and how did you deal with it ? any suggestions would be very appreciated . thank you

Hi I have the required 800K Baht in the SCB easy savings with an E passbook . i have read that CW accepts E passbooks . how can a person show the required statements in an E passbook/ update it ? can someone who has experience with this please help. I read also that fixed deposit accounts do not need the same day activity update . this sounds like the most convenient way to meet the bank requirement Thanks in advance for your responses

Barryw52 so you do not need to enter the SCB branch to deposit 100 baht and update the passbook ? you can really do it at the ATM ? wow . this is convenient .Thank you

I plan non immig O based on retirement . i understand it would be easier if i used another bank that still has a branch in CW , but at this point if i transfer my funds to another bank , i would not be able to show foreign source of funds in the latest bank passbook .so the letter can be obtained the day before , but the passbook itself has to be updated . and the account activity( deposit /withdrawal ) done at a branch close to CW , the day of the application ? does anyone here have experience with CW accepting E passbook , and the details please ? Thank you

Hi i bank with SCB, which closed its branches in CW. i plan to change to Non immig O visa from a visa exempt, and i understand that immigration at CW asks for updating the passbook the day of application .does this mean i need to go to a nearby scb branch and make a deposit ( for activity in the account ) and ask bank to update the passbook the morning of applying in CW, in addition to obtaining the letter of foreign source of deposit ? any other thing i need to do at the bank the same day ? also i have my funds in E passbook ( no paper passbook ) saving account. would it be advisable to transfer the money back to the paper passbook account ( since immigration needs a copy of the passbook ) ? thanks for your help and replies

Hi i read on the list of requirements for the initial application to change from visa exempt no non immigrant O ( retirement purpose)at CW, that i need to provide 3 month rental receipts ,, in addition to the rental agreement , TM30, House book , and landlord ID at the time i apply , i would have just moved in to my new condo in bangkok , how could i provide 3 months rental receipts? 2) also i read that Immig Officers would do house visit during the 14 days when application is under consideration . what if they visit and a person happens to be out doing shopping ? would they try again another day ? thanks for all the replies I noticed that on the list of required documents for the initial application for Non immigrant O visa , is 3months of rental receipts( along with the rental contract) if i am just starting a rental contract the week before applying for this visa how can i provide the 3 months rental receipts ? 8.
