There have been reports of CW allowing the combination option to apply apply for a extension of stay based upon retirement.

If using transfers into a Thai bank for proof of income you will need 12 months of transfers unless it is the first extension application after being out of the country for some time.

So joe , say I had 500,000 baht in bank how much income would I need to show for retirement extension

also does pension payment need to come direct from government to thai bank or I can take from my bank in oz every month and transfer via Ozforex  to thai bank ?

  2. Hi. I got a 6 month multi visa entry tourist visa and have used up 3 months of the six months . 2 months Thailand and one month Australia (here now) . I am going back to Pattaya in one week so I will still have 3 months left plus one month extension.

After its finished is it easy to go across a border and get a new 6 month metv and where is best to do that?

Or would it be better to pay the 6000 baht here in Aust and get a fresh 6 months again ? With ability to add another 30 day extension at the end ?

    Thanks for advice

    Peter

  3. I obtained a triple entry tourist in Thai embassy in Australia and my 1st 60 days expire on 27th July . I need to extend another week only as my gf has had cancer surgery and I want to stay for her first chemo session to finish then I need to go home to work and save while she recuperates and has more treatments, before coming back not sure maybe 6 months.

Can I do it in udon. I arrived at BKK airport. What do I need to present and how much will it cost and how long do I have to wait?

    Thanks

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

  4. I arrived on 60 day visa on 22/12/13- my plan was to marry and then apply for marriage visa. Do I have to show 400K in bank or is that only if I do not want to do a border run?

ie, if I have the the money in the bank then only have to report every 90 days, if no money then have to go to Loas and re apply every 90 days?

Another possibility is not marry, if that happens whats the options to keep getting extensions of stay as I may want more time to be sure this is what I want rather than bowl in head first, history tells me hasten slowly sometimes!

thanks for your help in this matter

  5. Thanks guys

So it seems I,ll do this

Apply for 60 day normal tourist visa from embassy in australa

Get married, then go to ventienne Loas and apply for non o visa at Thai consulate there and ttat will give me 90 days

I put 400,000 baht in the bank and after 2 months go to udon immigration and ask for extension based on marriage for 12 months

After I get that. Report to immigration every 90 days

Only grey area is if I leave to come back home for short time I apply for a re entry permit before I leave or when I arrive back at airport immigration? Again with same documents for initial extension asked on marriage?

    Am I reading it correctly?

  6. Thank joe

Lets say I go to thailand on 30 day tourist, I can marry then apply for 90 day Marriage visa correct ?

Then before it runs out I apply for a 12 month marriage visa or do you call to an extension?

To do that I have to leave Thailand say to Loas and then go to immigration with all documents and apply for a 12 month marriage visa, correct ?

Then every 90 days leave and come back requesting another 90 dy extension with the same paperwork submitted for original 12 months or not needed?

    Thanks

  7. Thanks

My plan was to get 90 days from embassy here, they say I need letter from GF stating want to marry and can get easily about 2 da

Then when in Thailand marry and convert to marriage visa, I can do in Thailand no problem?

I will deposit 400 g in bank straight after marry

The question is, is it straight forward to do myself and what documents do I need to convert to marriage visa

I read that it seems to vary as to what is needed, no black and white?

I plan to initially live in udon but would probably do all the transaction in bkk as they seem more up to speed etc?

Or is udon ok to do this?

    Appreciate you advice in above

  8. I am going to Thailand under 90 day tourist visa from Australia

While there I want to marry and convert to marriage visa

The embassy here says I can't do while in Thailand, that I have to apply from Australia?

    Is this so?

If I can apply for marriage visa in Thailand while under the 90 day tourist visa what do I need to do

What is required apart from the 400,000 in bank for 2 months prior and marriage certificate

I can go via legal but costs 1000 bucks

    Any help?
