Dr K. is Professor Emeritus which means she's retired from teaching, at age 72 that's appropriate I reckon!

The anti's could be for either or both since people with diverticulitis do suffer from infections that require treatment via antii's.

Unfortunately we do not offer the PLAC test for LP-pla 2 and know of no other hospital in the north that does so.

B2,500 for a complete physical is too good to pass up- so yesterday I called and made an appointment for 9am (today.)

Arrived around 0850 and was immediately processed in, gave blood, urine sample, chest x-ray then an EKG.

All done by 0925 and was advised to have breakfast then return at 1100 for the consultation with the doc.

Back at 1055 and again, immediately was escorted to the docs office for consultation. He briefly explained the results and I was presented with a booklet summarizing my data.

Paid my bill and I was on my way. Great service and a bargain to boot.

Er indoors and I went last week excellent, Saskia made sure everything went smoothly. A bit of a delay when returning for results 11.30 appt, had not been seen at 12.05 so I asked for a reappointment and was immediately whisked in to see the doctor.

That aside, very satisfactory and definitely worth every Baht!

I would like to ask the acupuncturist's name and what type of certification he/she has and from where?

Dr Srirath Chaiyaphruk is our Acupuncturist.

He qualified as an MD at Chiang Mai University in 1977, and in 1990 obtained the Certificate of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from Shanghai University.

In 2008 Dr Srirath obtained the Certificate in Acupuncture (Advanced Course) at Shanghai University, and in 2011 the equivalent from Chiang Mai University.

Appointments cost 750b for the first visit and 600b each for subsequent visits. A course comprising a minimum of 3 visits is strongly recommended.

Dr Srirath is available from 9.00am to 12 noon on Saturdays, and from 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

No ultrasound of the stomach area to check kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder etc??  That quick, simple, non invasive test reveals a lot..............kidney stones, gall stones, liver condition, and more.  

If not offered, then how much extra for it??

Our fee for ultrasound on upper OR lower abdomen is 1,000b, and 2,000b for the whole abdomen. These fees do not include the doctor's fee which is best obtained by phone in advance when making the appointment.

In each case the patient must fast for 4 hours before the appointment, and this includes no drinking, even water.

To clarify re the Check-Ups subject to offers until December 31st, those procedures are normally priced at 2,600b for men and 2,700b for women. At present we feel these prices can be held from January 1st onwards.

I am a little confused by this post. I looked on the website and they had a promotion on health checks so I phoned up the hospital. They said there is no promotion and they have nobody that can correct the website. I must pay full price. I will now print off this post and see what reaction I receive when I attend my appointment.

Delays of some 2 days in responding are caused by the fact that some International Relations staff - mainly concerned with communications - are not medically qualified. Thus they are not permitted to give out medical advice.

On the topic of complaints, the intention simply was to advise that a complaint made to administration, promptly at the time of the incident, will be the most effective in any transaction or circumstance. There is no wish to inhibit debate here.

Our small team at International Relations does indeed include Natasha, a qualified nurse and interpreter, who is now in her 4th year here. Other nurses in the department are Khun Machima and Grace. Saskia now works part time on Saturday mornings.

Dental cleaning, including verbal reports on any treatment needed, ranges from 500 baht.

FBS, Lipids (cholesterol), liver and BUN/Creatinine are included in our number 4 and 5 Check-Up programs at 3,800 baht for men and women aged 40 and over. The HbA1C (diabetes) check is available on request and one phone call will give full details. Results of most tests are available within 1 to 2 hours.

As has been correctly asserted here, it is often impossible to accurately predict the cost of a procedure as it will depend on the extent of the treatment - and period of recuperation - which can only be determined by the Doctor once he has begun.
