  1. I am not too worried about filling in one or more forms, but........
Thousands of Farangs are coming to Thailand every day. About same number is leaving. How to keep this records up to date? Or is it only Farangs staying permanently involved?

  2. OK, I like to clarify two things:

    1. The applicants live in Thailand six months every year. They come from all over Sweden. To find a doctor in a remote place in Sweden who can certify they are free from all tropical diseases can be a problem. We probably have among the longest queues in the world.

    2. The certificates from Thailand, where it is convenient to get one while being there, are issued in most cases by a university hospital, with stamps and authorized signatures. They are issued less than 3 months before application date.

  3. In my case it is actually pension and supplementary pension benefits.

I think this has a history from many immigrants came to Sweden and worked, sent money home and eventually retired in their home country. When a few died nobody reported the decease, rather continued to receive the benefits. So it is justified but I think the idea with a copy of valid passport sounds a good idea.

  4. I have a house in Nong Khai. We are two retired people only living here, semi-permanent. Guests are referred to a Guest house nearby. The water pressure from District is about 0,3 - 0,4 kg, surprisingly constant. I would like to have 1 kg, not more because I had problem with the plumbing before.

It seems as the only two pumps I have looked at, Mitsubishi WP-105Q3 and EP-155Q3, will give pressure up to 1,9 Kg. Can this be adjusted down? How big storage tank is built-in?

Do I need a storage tank as well?

    Anything else of great importance?

  5. Thank You! The persons concerned are well over 50 yrs and have enough financial resources to fulfil the requirements. Ig it is in two steps, no problem.

To further explain - we are about 200 Scandinavian nationals living in same place. In Sweden, everybody will have to travel in person to the Thai Embassy in Stockholm to get visa. So even with two steps at immigration is is much simpler than travelling long way to an embassy two times.

I think You have answered my question!

The embassy will only do OA visas.

But you could check with one the two honorary consulates in Sweden about getting your single entry non immigrant O visas before you leave. They probably allow mail in applications.

You can find contact info here: http://www.guidetothailand.com/thailand-travel-information/honcon-europe.php

Minor correction - only the embassy will do OA visas.

Actually I think many have used the O visa option so far, maybe from some consulate. But if it is possible, more easy and maybe cheaper to do it in Thailand, so why not! Some also use 60 or 90 day visas.

  6. 200 people all wanting to retire in Thailand at the same time via a two stage process ?

Please advise when you all plan to visit Thai immigration ! smile.png

Well, we have lived in Thailand 10 years already, during high season. Not all, but we have become more over the years. You can visit our website at

I think many companies in Thailand have more than 200 expatriates employed, people who need to visit Immigration every 90 days and extend visa every year.

  8. The Thai lady handling visa issues in our resort said this morning that it is possible to extend a 30 day tourist visa by one year at Immigration, provided You have all required documents for an OA visa and pay the 1900 baht, same as for normal extension of OA visa.

Is this correct, can we trust this and come to Thailand without visa and stay for six months?
