Evidence of a pension. Letter of certification from a Thai bank supported by bank statements showing a pension being transferred to the pensioner’s bank account every month for at least 12 months.

I wonder if this means that you have to have your pension being direct deposit to the Thai Bank? Or you can just show deposits of which you transferred yourself from your bank to the Thai bank at minimum required amounts.

I have the same question - US pension transferred to US bank then 65k transferred to Thai Bank. I was told at Bangkok Bank the other day that they will print a statement of all your foreign deposits for the last 6 months and Include a letter of confirmation for this issue.

I personally have payments to make in the States so don't want all my pension sent here.

  2. If someone "dumped" a bear on my front steps I would use some common sense and find out what the bear needed and who might be in a better position to provide that.

Pray tell, which organisations in Thailand are both in a better position to provide care and willing to take on dumped animals?

Perhaps you'd be good enough to post the names of these organisations and contact details here so that anyone facing the problem of a dumped bear in future can avail themselves thereof.

Maybe the Organization that tried to save the bear's life for a start.

  3. Danny Russel breached diplomatic protocols when he made the speech saying Yingluck's impeachment appears to have been politically motivated. He needs to be recalled and removed from his post for making that statement. Ms. Pornpimol is way off base if she thinks the US shouldn't disapprove of an undemocratic government. Her editorial is a farce.

Well he quite simply did not say that, and if you could read and comprehend plain English you would understand that. He said, to some people given the way everything transpired it COULD APPEAR like it was politically motivated. Not that it was.

You go on about his qualifications, but given your lack of comprehension ability of simple written English, i would say you should be more concerned with issues closer to home before commenting on others abilities.

Yes! "..it could appear" ! NO blaming there.

Maybe the PM should open his mind and see how the international community "might" think that.

He might even reply with "I can see how you might think that, but..." And tell his side of the story.

He would of acknowledged Russel's "concerns" and kept the conversation going.

Instead he says "you hurt our feelings" (poor us) and goes into his own blame game....

And, maybe Russel could have shown a little more of a desire to "understand" the PM's point of view and acknowledge that.

    Both agreeing to disagree.

  4. How can the son have had a quarrel when he is CCTVd in his dorm? This case is beyond bizarre, beyond ludicrous.

I'm as confused as you are Prbkk.

But I am suspecting the whole saga is turning to a political issue, not only against the government but also against Thailand.

That is why the people in charge are taking steps back and allowing further investigations,

But again they seem to be confident of the outcome.

I would wait and see what happens, with the hope Thailand's reputation and standing does not become worst.

"But again they seem to be confident of the outcome."

I wonder if they have some weird plan about the outcome

Again, they are not worried maybe because the said sample from the victim is actually the Burmese boys - so the rich kids dan will not match - or anybody elses for that matter. Hope the Brits can confirm somehow.

  5. To validate DNA tests, they can obviously get a sample from the two boys. I wonder if the police still have the semen from the victims body to get a new sample from? Or just the DNA test results, which could be from somewhere else i.e. taken from the boys later on, not from the semen.

Seems like no semen no verification.

Not sure if we have the policing and technical expertise to enter such discussions. Given the profile of the case I'm Sure British police have the people and the knowledge to get things done.

    Good point.

  6. "Police had to waste their time following leads from these rumours," Pol.Gen. Somyot told reporters yesterday."

No they didn't. They could have ignored them and carried on doing their job.

Exactly, the police shouldn't be basing their enquiries around social media!! Lazy lazy work on their behalf.

Exactly - why were the police following the medias "rumors"?

    They "had" to??

Its the media's fault that the police followed what they said?

Of course the police has to look into any hints they get, no matter if those hints comes from social media or not. If they didn't then people would be bashing them for not taking evidence into account.

I'm just saying "take some responsibility for you actions RTP."
