  1. Sorry but don't even think about even having her make the trip. There is always a chance of complications or premature delivery of the baby. As the pregnancy is a "pre existing condition" there will be no insurance coverage, it will be out of your pocket.

I knew a Canadian couple that went to the US for a holiday. Got the all clear from the doctor and two days before coming back, she went into labour at 7 months. Medical bills came in at $1.3 million. Ended up bankrupting them.

  2. This is really quite simple. At both of those clubs, the seating at tables is considered VIP and bottle service. If you want to buy a bottle (some times you have to buy 2) you will get a table. It really is the same as clubs in Vegas, NYC, London, Rio, Hong Kong, Singapore etc...

  3. As others have stated you should have no issues at LHR.

    BUT

Be aware that some countries won't let you in the terminal without a printed ticket (India and Philippines plus others) so don't take it as read that you will never need that printer.

Agreed. Security in Manila always wants to see your ticket before letting you through security before you are allowed in the terminal. Last time I was there I was running late and gave the security guy 200 pesos and he walked me through, bags and all skipping security fully. Also some airports in Indonesia (Bali) used to operate like this.

  4. A few years back there were a few sub-prime credit cards being issued in the US. Had rates of 59.9% and 79.9%. Typically for small limits ($1000) to people with very bad credit history. Not illegal as some might think as it was fully disclosed.

I have several friends that have the Amex Black. It not quite as good as it used to be as some of the program benefits have been reduced (SPG, AA, Marriott). I just use a Platinum Amex these days.

  5. As a strict policy my old firm used to have travelling from Canada to the United States, all laptops and phones must be a clean install with absolutely no files on them. IT department would give us a freshly formatted machine for each trip. We used a VPN and remotely accessed info with file shredding programs to remove any local files and history. There have been a few cases where Canadian lawyers had their gear seized and copied for future review by US customs. This turned into somewhat of a disaster for one lawyer as he had several thousand files that were subject to legal professional privilege copied by US authorities, and some of those cases were against US agencies on human rights abuses - think Gitmo.

  6. So, it will be shipped here and installed by 15 December 2013 - 2 weeks away. Seeing will be believing Posted Image

I agree.  Can't see it being done in 2 weeks.  Have they even laid the concrete foundations which will take awhile to set?

    They built one in Melbourne...

The project, undertaken by ING Real Estate and managed by Hansen Yuncken, cost an estimated A$100 million to construct between 2006 and 2008, and was expected to attract 1.5 million visitors each year.

The outer ring of the wheel was completed on 1 March 2008. The passenger pods arrived onsite on 10 June 2008 for installation. By 20 October 2008, the pods were receiving their fit out

It has been closed due to costs for nearly 4 yrs now.

Not quite true. It was up and operational for Christmas 2008 and the in January 2009 there was a heat wave (same as black Sunday with the fires) and it bent the entire structure. Been stuck in insurance claims and litigation ever since.
