Ford Raptor or Everest my choice; unless you want to spend a bit more and go for the Porsche or Benz.

Chuwit is the governor that Bangkok needs. With his binoculars and sledge hammer he got style.

Especially good for white color cars as they tend to yellow here.

Clean, good for short laps. Have to wear bathing suit not shorts and a cap. In the gym you have to wear long pants. But they have now started duel pricing for one year membership; 300bht for farangs, 40bht for Thais. I have been a member for years at 40bht. and refused to pay the increase so they gave in. I never use it as I am a member of RBSC and The Polo Club and only wanted to support the membership. I also refuse to enter any temples or parks where they have dual pricing. The real annoyance is that BTS will not give farangs the senior discount of 50 percent. In fact this rule changed after they had sold me my card. When they stopped me they confiscated my card and fined me from the amount on the card. My friend who is more fluent in Thai carries a copy of the Thai constitution in English and Thai that states that it is against the constitution to racially discriminate against even farangs. He has has had several confrontations where he had to read out the constitution in the BTS station at which point they dropped this insulting demand rather that call more public attention. I have lived here for 50 years and paid more tax than most Thais. All the Thais that I know or have been in business with always found some way to avoid paying. Long wait for Thai citizenship. Several friends who have gotten it even though being here less time, did so through some political connection: my friend is a general.

Lam, saw you play many times in the 80s when I was windsurfing and hangin out in Pattaya. Wishing for your speedy recovery. Best of luck.

My favorite is Japanese macrobiotic brown rice. Found some in Gourmet Supermarket last week. Problem it is many times more expensive than any other rice including the Thai grown Japanese rice.

What about permanent residents, who are supposed to have the same rights as Thais except right to vote or own land?

For video/photography, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is way beyond the rest. There is just no comparison. With it you don't need a camera although I personally couple it with a Leica.

But we still have to double price them because they not Thai even if they have lived here 50+ years and are permanent residents and no way should they be allowed to own the land that their houses or townhouse are built on even though every Thai living in their country enjoys this privilege. We Thai are too clever to allow this.

What about the 14 days quarantine or are they just going to let them loose in Paragon and all you can eat crab and shrimp buffets. I saw a Central ad going up one of it's escalators the other day — "Shopping is a cure for Covid".

Don't give them your passport they will use this as leverage to gouge you for as much money as possible. Never use UPS or DHL. The local agent here have a blanket deal with the customs not based on cost of your item and what the can get extra is theirs. They will send you a bill with cost of item, plus shipping plus tax storage fee and what ever else they can think up and then add their handling fee. All bogus. They want your passport as leverage that you will pay. You only need to give them a copy, if anything. Years ago I took this up with UPS's international office and they finally admitted that they were aware of this and had had many complaints but that the local agent had to be a Thai owned company and that they needed a clearing company in every country and were therefore powerless to do anything about this. I also just went through this situation with DHL. In the end they won. I should have known better. Use local post or be prepared to be ripped off. Local businesses here who import a lot use their own agents. They all know about the rip off from these companies. Don't go renting any jet skis either.

Although I have lived as a resident here for 50 years, I stopped going to any temples or venues where the charge me more than a Thai. Best not to support racism of any sort. I was quite saddened when they stopped me and confiscated my 50% senior card for the BTS after they had sold it to me and topped up numerous times. They also fined me four times the max fare from the stored value. As a PR I am supposed to have all the same privileges as a citizen except the right to own land and vote. The MRT doesn't have this racist rule which is listed in the Thai constitution as illegal. I have an expat friend who carries a copy of the Thai constitution in English and Thai translation which when they tried to confiscate his senior card he read out loud in the BTS station. They quickly gave his cards back and told him to go.

Living in Thailand for over 50 years, most as a permanent resident, I stopped going to any temples or other venues when dual pricing came into effect. I refuse to support this attitude. The BTS refusal to give me the senior discount I find particularly offensive. They sold me the card when they announced the discount and after several times adding more value to it, one afternoon stopped me and confiscated the card and the and the value on it as a fine. No such behavior with the MRT.

I just went through the same experience with DHL ordering a camera case from Germany. The problem is the local agent. These international companies must have a representative in every country and here it must be a Thai owned company who gouge for as much as they can and the parent companies are powerless to do anything about it. Local businesses use their own agencies for clearing and avoid DHL and UPS like the plague. Everyone else should do the same.

Why is the resort on Sukhumvit Road not named? I would imagine that the owners are involved.

Too cheap to invest 5 to 10 thousand baht in an adequate safe — too heavy to carry, bought at Global or Home Pro when they keep that amount at home.
