  1. I remember a time where we made do until it broke and could not be fixed be it, fridges, tvs, sofas but then came the credit card boom and everyone upgraded everything just to have the best. The caretaker where I lived complained he had a storeroom full of good quality used items that nobody wanted, he was willing to give away fridges, sofas, TV's just to clear the space and then the World crashed and he was again begging for used stuff for new tenants, nobody will ever listen and learn it is all about face and while they can get credit they will.

  2. The wedding certificate is from the Philippines and she needed to get it notified by the embassy there, she went to the one on Bangkok they sent to Manilla and now it is being sent to her home in Baguio before being sent back to Thailand, I dont know why it is like that, just that, that is what has happened or something similar but it wont get back her for another 2 weeks so nearly six weeks in total.

  3. I am a Englishman staying for 5 years in Thailand on Tourist Visas but my local immigration office wanted to give me just 7 days extension on my last tourist visa since my passport is full of them but gave me 30 days due to me promising to switch to a non O as I have a Filipino wife legally working in Thailand. Sadly my 30 days are nearly up and half the paperwork is stuck in Philippines and wont get back in time.
Is there any problems with getting another tourist visa at Vientiane, last visit a South African got a last visa red marked but her mother with same travel history didn't.

    Thanks in advance Gary

Maybe those are "of the books no questions asked" extensions because i thought they were only 1.900 if you do it yourself and have all the relevant papers.

Which is the same as crossing at the Cambodian border which should only be 950 baht but then  a visa runner needs to pays both sets of border guards their cut and it goes up to 1,900, if you try to do it yourself you get grief from both ends because you are doing them out of their cut.
If the guards were not earning so much extra from dishonesty maybe decent guards would be there and perverts would be arrested instead of welcomed.

  5. The pedestrian was walking in a straight line,  she should not have been on her phone or in the road but the accident was not her fault, the cyclist may she RIP seemed to be moving towards the pedestrian I guess to keep clear of the bus passing.
I guess the pedestrian ran away due from the shock it looked like she was going to vomit, I can imagine this will haunt her for the rest of her life.
Why do the comment on this forum often seem bitter and nasty, I try to read the article and skip the comments due to the silliness and bitterness.

I suspect because they believe they can't control it.... because with simple ingredients ( vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, nicotine liquid, flavour) you can make it yourself for under 100 Baht per week. So maybe they think a blanket ban is best ( it's not, the vaping genie is out of the bottle and won't be going back).

Where can I get nicotine liquid from, do chemist stock it in Thailand?

  7. I have just been looking at the details for getting a work permit for a start up online business that will sell advertising to UK and USA citizens, it will have nothing to do with Thailand apart from that I want to live here while I am working.

But all the work permit is about is Thai companys or foreign companys but nothing on sole trader start ups.... has any one got a work permit for this reason yet?

  8. My camera broke so I want to send myself my old camera, well get a relative to send it to me here.
How do I go about doing this without incurring a huge bill in customs and extra since its my camera already?

  9. I went today had to wait at Chanthaburi for blooming ages nearly 2 hours for a minivan to take us to the border, when I got there the runners wanted 1300 baht so I walked over and the guys on the other end want 1100 baht for the $20 visa I complained and asked for a invoice, they gave no receipt and charged me 1000 baht. I was up Chaing Rai a few days ago I wish I had taken the bus to the nearest border there at least it would have made a change from this one.
