Have done exactly this before and didn't have a problem leaving the country close to the original expiry date, or coming back to Thailand on either a tourist visa or for another job later.

Thank you. I'm still a valid resident of the UAE and would be doing it from there.

Hopefully someone could help me with the rules of Thai Embassy. I am an Indian citizen, but currently a resident of UAE. I just quit my job in the UAE and on a holiday in Malaysia. I used to work in Thailand before, and when I tried to join the same employer this time, they agreed to offer me a job. They are ready to send me the paperworks required for obtaining a visa, but it seems I cannot apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa in Kuala Lumpur while being on a tourist visa here. The embassy seems to expect a residence in Malaysia for at least six months.

Could someone please advice if my understanding is correct? If they won't provide me a visa in KL, I should either travel back to the UAE or India to get one.
Thanks for your time.

Here is the full reply by Tesco:
Thank you for your email.
The accounts of slavery in the production of fishmeal in Thailand in yesterday’s Guardian were deeply shocking. We regard slavery as completely unacceptable and are determined to use our influence to ensure it is stamped out.
We have already made significant progress in improving conditions in farms, peeling sheds and processing facilities in Thailand –which in the past have been vulnerable to both child and forced labour. We now need to ensure the same progress is extended to the largely unregulated fishing industry that provides fish bought for use in fishmeal for prawns. We are working both with our suppliers to ensure the fishmeal supply chain is fully traceable and slavery-free, and have been working for some time in partnership with the International Labour Organisation and Ethical Trading Initiative to achieve broader change across the Thai fishing industry. We will back up this work with unannounced checks at each stage of the supply chain, to ensure conditions are decent – and we will not cease until we have ensured that is the case.

If the OP doesn't work for a Thai entity, doesn't get paid in Thailand, doesn't get the money into a Thai bank, how could one say he is working here? He is merely shaking his fists and randomly tapping something on the keyboard, just like drinking water or eating from a plate.

There is this young lady with a small child just in front of my office, begging for money. The child is always sleeping and I've never seen it being awake. How's it possible? Do they actually sedate the child? If yes, is something being done to curb such activities?

That cop should've been polite.

Shall we get back on track?
How different do you think it would be for the reverse route? We explored every other option and they turned out to be expensive. And between Thailand and Malaysia, it's mostly by road than by ship.

My case was Malaysia to Thailand. Used postal parcel service, had to pack everything by myself, took around 20 days to be door delivered, way cheaper than the private couriers.

Mine jumped from 1200 to 4500 for a 65 m2 condo. We bought a new fan so as to keep one air conditioner switched off, but the bill increased even more.
Tried asking the condo management and the MEA officials, but looks like I can't get a clarification unless I speak Thai.

Not sure about somewhere you could stay for two days but still being within an hour drive from Bangkok. But you might try Bang Krachao. It's an island formed by the Chao Phraya river, easily reached by a taxi and a boat.

We usually take a taxi to the Klong Toey Port, then head to the pier through a small soi, get a boat to cross the river (10 Baht per person) and rent a bike to go around the island (100 Baht per day). It's a great place, and we have seen people come with their dogs too.

Having camped at numerous national parks, I for sure tell you that no prior booking is necessary for camping, especially if you carry your own tent and accessories. Camping ground fee is 30 Baht / person / night for pitching your own tent.
Don't know anything about the rooms, as I always felt camping in the parks here is wonderful.
There were instances we reached some parks in the middle of night (as late as three in the morning) and we still had no problems.

Not sure if we really want the Taiwanese or it's just there (as a territory of China) to woo the Chinese. Talk about not having a spine.
