  1. When I had my house built in Bangkok I had adjustable screws installed in the foundation piles...they have a lift height of 10 meters. So, when sea water approaches me in the year 2030 I will just jack-up my house, trade the Fortuner in for a boat, and life goes on.

Thought to self: I wonder how many people will believe this? tongue.png

the drainage wont work any more surrounded by human waste

  2. Is it so terrible to find out some Monks flew on a plane, had a designer bag, wore sunglasses etc ? Compared to some of the antics the other religions get up to, (condoning the slaughter of people who dare to follow another religion, and much more,) I think I would rather put up with a few jet-setting Monks any day. biggrin.png

not so bad ,but they are always in the 1st class seats when i fly upcountry

  3. Representative costs of a similar-sized jet in commercial passenger service:
    Direct operating costs:
    Fuel @ $3. = $975 (burn around 325/hr, incl. into-plane and taxes)
    Cockpit crew = $250
Maintenance = $575 (est. power by the hour for engines, wheels/tires/brakes plus est. airframe parts & direct labor)
That's $1,800 without insurance or aircraft ownership costs.

Catering, ground handling and landing fees easily add another $600 to $1000 per flight -- cost per hour depends on stage length.

basic cost to buy say 25 million $ for a 2007 model to 48 million $ for a 20011 model

  4. on a side note a sister in the family who had a boy by a US citizen and was remarried to a bloke from north Wales took her boy thru Thai immigration on her UK passport when he was in his early teens and no probs and AFAIK had no passport at all ,and then she took off with a Frenchman ditching the Welshman and took her boy to France also on her passport and didnt appear to have any problems.maybe its easier for the mum to do this as the American father was a nutjob who moved to the P.I and had lost all contact with him.

still no reply from Thai immigration .....zzzzzzzzzzzzz
