I wonder what they will do to the thai tourist who yesterday sit on a “don’t sit here” buddha altar at wat arun...

I don’t understand... is the red button for customers or for the taxi driver who will call the police if the tourist will not agree to pay the higher not metered price?

Not in my world it doesn't but I recognise that in their world it does.
but it doesn’t mean their world is the right one!
if you work in anything tourism-related, the world is the one of your customer in that moment!
the customer is the one who pay your salary, btw...

over advertising...
nothing in thailand is without advertising!
even police checkpoints have advertisment of products...

thais don’t need any watch.
even wearing the most expensive rolex, panerai, patek, or the most precise swiss, zenith, bulova ones, they will never be on time at any appointment!

well done, put her in jail and throw the keys!
those are the real problems that afflict thailand!

do they really needed fisheries experts to realise this?

tbh, I'm not against a dual tier price. everywhere in the world there's something like this!
I come from a country and a town (venice, italy) where dual tier price was and still is implemented.
locals (from the town and region) has some "benefits" and discounts in some situations, like transport system (waterbus), but that's understandable, because they use them everyday, while a tourist maybe once or twice in the life!
you need a proof of residence that grants you a special card/badge.
anyway, prices are not 10 times higher.
imho thailand should make a 1:2 / 1:3 ratio to tourist prices and grant residents to use the reduced fare.
simple to say and to implement! (but not in thailand)

by the way... student already cut her hair NOT covering ears, meaning that they were too short...
how can be cutting hair now would make them longer and cover her ears?!?

oh... I thought that the first B was for buffalo...

I guess many people never took that road.
I did it many times and still do (by car) and most vehicles I meet, cross the lane to get a faster curve thinking they are at a F1 race... nothing strange here.
yes, he did that far too much! but I see most thai drive on that road making troubles to oncoming vehicles in the same way.

thailand has no standards in anything...
safety less than ever!

following tomtom, 5 years ago, I got struck as well between ayuttaya and pa in, on the bank of a river! people there helped us push the car out of mud (no pickup)!
but to be honest, as soon as face that bridge, I'm sure I would have turned back!

hahahahhhaahahahhahahjaahahahhahaha
still laughing after a long while!
THAT will distract other drivers?
I actually thought it would make thai drivers pay more attention and, at least, see something in front of their nose!
really... I never thought this place was so much <deleted> up!

Impatience, nothing else. They overtake at every opportunity and they can't judge the distance needed for it. Many survive just by pure luck and because everyone else breaks. BMW might give the extra push to try something that will not work.. Have plenty of footage on my dash cam of these situations.
Only yesterday I cursed 3 Thai drivers in the space of 5 minutes, who were still stationary in pole position at green traffic lights after 6 seconds!
wow! you cursed only 3 drivers?!?
it's long time since I started to count how many drivers I praise each day... it's much easier to keep the count.

There are usually 2 steps to a safe isolation. First you turn the equipment off (in this case by pulling the plug) and then you make sure it can't be restarted by use of danger tags and locks or other methods. In this case, simply cutting off the plug would have prevented a death.
that's not always true! maybe in this case it would have helped, but I guess you still have to see thai plugging the wires directly without a plug...

this is why thai people will never learn to be responsible for anyhthing!
have a time limit? ok keep postpone that...

it's said that laws are made to be broken...
in thailand, by thai, more than ever.

yes... like if anyone is going to give a #%@&!!!
buy the days before or from small village stores...
everything is a farce here! hypocrisy at its best!
start to really fight people driving drunk, leave others alone sink in their own $#¥%.
everyone in the "outside world" has been through this, and eventually grown up...
-
hahaha!!! quite right!
actually we are now in 8, was 9 few months ago, when a girl used to live with us taking care of grandmom who is 92yo. and 1 is a 8yo kid of the couple who live with us and do cleaning and take care of the garden.
at first I said 9 thinking in the past, then second time I forgot about the kid.
anyway, we also have 2 dogs in the house and 5 outside, but they don't use much electricity actually...
-
have some other gadgets too as well, but I think they are responsible of 10% of the bill alltogheter.
talking about 1 computer, two switch hubs for lan, some wifi repeaters around the house.
we also have 3 pumps in the house for an inside waterfall and fountain, but those are not used everyday (like your 24h pond example), but just (if used!) a total of 15mins a day (sum of 3) and it is nothing new added!
I found a last year bill of may, and it was less than 10k baht!
my bet now is on the big windowed fridge...
next week I'll go buy an amp-clamp and check around the house.
-
well, can do the check, but actually we are the same family and we know the settings used, it's me and wife, my parents and my grandmother, who cannot move from bed, so we set it up. the other couple has no ac in their room.
and we never set it at lower than 27 (I actually sometimes put it at 28)
no need to set it at 10 degrees less than the outside temperature, since even a 2/3 degree difference can already be felt like abenefit. even dehumidify the room can improve the quality, and it's not needed 18C to do that.
-
everything closed!
I also live 50kms far from chiangmai, by the mountain, so the weather is not THAT hot and we always keep aircons set at 27C.
the one mostly used is one 12k.btu at night and during the day, the 2x35k.btu are used only at night for 6 hours or even less, and not every night!
last year we even used a 35k.btu during the day for 3 hours or so almost everyday (in addition to the mentioned above ones, and the bill was much less than this!
-
first of all, thank you!
I am sure that nobody is connected to my meter, so at least I know I should not complain to anyone else.
but I still think that it's a heap of money if I compare to my neighbours, even 4 of them put together!
