No, cannot.  Also, for clarification, non-immigrant O-A "retirement" visa extensions DO require the necessary health insurance policy issued by one of the designated local companies.  Once obtained, the insurance company downloads your policy into the ID data base.  

Grab works very well in Bkk.   Use it daily. Cars clean, drivers above average, some excellent.  Have been stood up only 3 times.  I always use cash.  Huge improvement to the extraordinarily poor public taxi service.

I own a house in Chiang Mai. I hold a retirement visa (OA visa). I've been exiting and entering Thailand often for four years and  learned only today that each time I arrive back in Chiang Mai that I must "report" in to the local immigration chaps at the old immigration office near the airport. This is additional to the usual immigration process at Swampy. I had presumed that the particulars provided on the immigration chit filled out upon arrival at the entry point would suffice for a local address but apparently not.   I attach the relevant immigration law as displayed on the officer's screen.  Has anyone run  into this problem?  I was refused an extension to my OA visa because I hadn't reported in recently from a trip abroad.

I suggest you (1) find the meter and photograph the numbers; (2) turn off all electric outlets and check the meter activity, periodically. If you find any meter activity someone is bleeding off your supply downstream from your meter. If no illicit activity, either one of your electrical units going crazy or your landlord is screwing with you. In my humble opinion.

Hi Giddyup- It took me awhile to figure out the gps in my Toyota. As I live up north I can't help you directly but, I spent 30 years+ in the criminal field ( on the " good" side) and I suggest you never enter your home coordinates (at least not labelled as such) on the gps. Disguise the entry. If someone lifts your vehicle they will know you cannot be at home so it is open season for burglars. Imy humble opinion.

I have always found CM immigration officers to be efficient and pleasant. Never had a bad experience there. I have been delayed often by idiots ahead in the queue who show up with incomplete/ improperly filled out forms, no pens, no clues. There oughta be a movie " Clueless in CM". Good luck with your next encounter- all you can do is front up and deal with it. The officers have the discretion- that's why they are there. You should try to deal with Canadian immigration officials- snide, rude, arrogant and far too empowered for their intelligence level- real bottom feeders.

I use TOT, paying for 10MGB in Mae Onn. Usually very reliable with speeds of 8.56 wifi average. Since Wednesday the service has been abysmal even for local stuff like CM news. Overseas stuff I repeatedly get a timed-out. Am waitlisted with 3BB optical.

Throwball- thst is a good one. Quite apt. The feet are only there to propel one player adroitly into the others or downfield. Pain, broken bits and long term headaches result. maybe call our game " Painball".
