I don't know if you have a specific location in mind, but Payap University in Chiang Mai has an international college with several bachelor's degrees. The international college has students from many countries and ages.

Thank you so much for pointing out that thread. It's descriptive and helpful. I really appreciate it!

They are a large, well-known and respected university. I am a full-time professor.
They do all the paperwork and pay for everything. But because of how large they are, they don't file the paperwork for us. We need to do that. That is why I am asking for advice in finding the office because I've been told it's not easy to find.
I know how this forum can be full of speculation and non-helpful comments sometimes so really, please keep those to yourself as it's not helpful to me or anyone else who may be interested in learning where this place is located.

Hi all,
I just started working in Thailand for the first time. My contract and paperwork are all ready to be filed at the work permit office but I've heard it's really hard to find since it apparently moved. I've also been told that what I looked up online is old information. So the question is: where is this place and how do I get there?
Any advice is welcome.

I'm American and my brother and his girlfriend both collects weapons as a hobby. They are cheap here but I'm not going to the U. S. anytime soon, so I thought it would be a good Christmas present, if it was legal to mail. I'm checking with U. S. customs to see if it's ok or not on that end.

Hi all,
Is it legal or illegal to mail (and of course, properly declare on the paperwork) one of those handmade machetes/long knives you see for sale all over? We have one for use at our home but I would like to send one to my brother for a Christmas present. If it can't be mailed, can it be sent via Fedex or another service? Or does Thailand prohibit these kinds of weapons from being shipped?

We've lived in Chiang Mai for three years. Visit the hospital every so often and so far have paid put of pocket, as costs are not bad. However, I am the careful type who is starting to worry about not having insurance in case there is an unexpected huge medical issue. I am 35, husband is 39, and our son is 3.
I have read many posts here on the forum and have researched online but still feel overwhelmed because I don't really know how to find the best insurance. Is there a broker in Chiang Mai that I can talk to that anyone knows of? Any advice or direction is appreciated. I'm from the U. S. If that matters but don't often go there and do not carry any American coverage.

We just started our second year renting at the same house. It came with a bed that was already old and not in great condition. Today it broke. Generally speaking, if we bought a new one (that we would bring with us when we moved), would this be acceptable with our landlord? Do we still have to pay for a replacement bed too? Is this cost incurred by the landlord? Any adivce on how to proceed as we email our landlord (she lives elsewhere)?
Work permit for multiple places
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I've been told it is "not possible" for someone to get either two separate work permits or to have two employers or an employer and a volunteer organization listed on one work permit in Chiang Mai. This comes directly from the human resources offers at my university. I don't believe this is true. Everything I've every been able to find online seems to indicate someone can work (for pay or volunteer) at multiple places and that basically they just have all places added onto the work permit. Is my understanding incorrect? Does anyone have any insight into Thai law?
