Don't do that if you can get back what you wanted, not to make her lose face infront of her parents. There is an investment company that can register under her name but you can have the transaction password separately to do any transaction, she will not be aware of it and you can withdraw all the money invested.

I have an account myself that is using Thai id to register but I'm holding the transaction password.

Totally agreed with you. New model now does save energy compare to old models. More efficient is what everyone looking at now.

It is not the problem of marrying an university educated women that all this happen. What is a good investment, how long will it takes to get back your capital and how much can you make from your investment? this are few question you need to find the answer before you really considering putting in your money. I've invested 2 million in Thailand doing agriculture products and because of the rules, the people thinking, the country political problems and etc.. I couldn't even make anything to regain my capital after a year and have no choice but to close the business down. The worst thing is that not easy to even ending your business once you started one here. I don't think it was anything to do with drugs, they borrowed something like 5 million baht to make a business from some loan sharks and couldn't get the money back to them on time, from what the wife told police after they discovered her.

I have been working with some doctor from the agriculture department few years ago and we can't find a solution to it. It is not only attacking coconut trees in Thailand, it also killing coconut trees in many countries. There is not only beetles that is killing the trees, there is black headed caterpillars too was found killing the trees at the same time. The beetles is feeding on the young leaf from the top and the caterpillars are eating the leaf from the bottom. We have tried drilling holes and injecting pesticides into the tree trunk but it didn't work. If there is strong wind or rain, the spreading is faster. Spraying pesticides is not a good solution, because the beetles hide and lay eggs in the young leaf that is not fully open up and the caterpillars can't be kill if spraying from the top.

Many researcher from India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand tried many ways to solve the problems but unsuccessful. As you said that you are not interested to harvest the food, then injecting pesticides to the trees is the best solution. The pesticides injected into the trunk will be absorb to the leaves and when the beetles or caterpillars will be killed by eating it. One more beetle that kill the palm trees by eating inside the trunk is called weevil, it lays eggs in the trunk and the larva will start eating the inside when it hatched.

You can find more information on these beetles and caterpillar on the internet. I have lost all my files on my research done three years ago in Prachuap and Surat Thani, if not I can send to you, so that you can try it out. Make sure that you use something to cover the hole after drilling the tree trunk, because open wound can be infected by bacterial or fungus. Do not drill too deep and dilute what ever pesticide you use before injecting into the trunk, because too acidic will burn the tissue of the open wound causing it to rot inside and kill the tree. A permanent resident is not a citizen. He have no right to get involve in the country affair whether he like it or not.

Corruption is in all mindset and not only Thai. Once a child was born they are thought to be corrupted, because parents will offer to their child a gift if they obey or do something when told. Company will reward their staff if they can achieve something better out of their job requirement. About time we recognised the following:

1) the government are playing this well (now);

2) Suthep's end game is impossible (and it is his - and not the majority of those supporting the protests who simply want to put down a marker);

3) as foreigners (most of us at least) are trying to apply western standards to something that is deep-rooted and has a very real cultural Asian base;

4) democracy (as we claim to know it) is neither perfect or without very real faults.

This is a social problem. And it is being manipulated for other purposes. The "elite" want to keep control. The rest want their share of power.

Educated populations might not react in this way (I did say MIGHT) but until the majority are properly educated nothing will change. The mighty middle and upper classes look down from their lofty castles and expect the poor to understand and be compliant. The last thing they want is an educated working class!

The poor look up and say "Why not me?" but get manipulated and looked down on.

Solve that and it all goes away. But are Suthep / Thaksin and Co. really interested in that?

Of course not - this is about power, corruption and jealousy.

I totally agree with you, if Taksin come back and serve his 2 years jail, he will even get more respect then just run away. If he do that the protest might stop and people might gain back confident in him and YS. I hope he is going to do something right now before things get worse.

Kids now days do not respect the rules in their school because of their parents are too protective. When you did something wrong and get the punishment, it is fair. Teacher doing that is because they care and want the child to learn to be responsible of their action. If teacher that don't love or care for the child, he or she can just ignore what they did wrong and let them continue to do it. I'm a parent of two boys myself and I never stop their teacher punishing them if they did wrong. This is part of the parents fault on how naughty they are, if the parents can't teach them the right ways lets someone else do it for them.

It would be funnier if both the anti and pro-government compete in football. They all love the sport.

Their groups will occupy the opposite sides as cheerers!

The money that they are spending in protest and vote buying will be the prizes.

In case any team is lost, they can protest to have another game with another prizes at stake.

Do you think you have all the information on what is actually happening? I'm using my brain more then dozens of the people out there, think carefully, who is benefiting from all this protest? Not the people or the country it is the people behind it. How do you know the government is not serving the country and what is the actual serving means? I'm not siding any parties, but I feels sad on what is happening and this have been going on for many years. Why can't they just act like adult and get things done for both parties?

Do you guys think that a PM or president should resign when some people making a protest and demanded it? There will be a none stop protest if it is so. If you are a PM for this case, resigning will make things better and who is the next person to be the PM? If there is a new PM selected by certain parties and dislike by certain parties, will there be another protest? Protest is only making thing worst and not going to benefit the people. If everyone talking about democratic, the best way is to wait for the election day and vote for who they think is the best.

How can a dam helps easing the flood when the drainage system are bad?? I think the government should upgrade the drainage system and clearing rubbish off the rivers. I was in the south for few days last week and saw the flood water that can't escape because of the rubbish that is blocking the drains. Part of the flood problems are caused by the people themselves that don't care.
