Ok thanks for the info. I am going to give it a try anyway as if I dont find work at least I will still have the qualifications to work else where. Hopefully one day I'll get to live in Thailand. You say something extra to offer, You think gain ing my level 3 rope access would be advantageous?

I currently work from the uk as a rope access painter on the wind farms. The season will be ending soon so I intend on completing my NDT courses - MPI, Eddy current LVL 2 and UT lvl 2 3.1 3.2. Before going on the wind farms I did this work onshore so can gain the certificates. I intend on spending a couple of months in Thaialnd after completing the courses and trying to gain work in SE Asia. What are the chances of me finding work. It doesnt have to be offshore or Thaialnd in particular but where I could return to after every trip. Does anyone know any companies that take on Expats? Thanks in advance

I asked her to marry me almost a year ago. Not at all was it for a visa. Sounds like its an expensive going on really. maybe just better to save here for a year or 2. Its made hard for people outside of the EU. It's just she can earn a Thai months wage in a week over here.

Thanks. Can she work on a fiance visa?

Hi. No this is not a spur we have been together for almost 2 years now and engaged since last February. the tourist visa she is currently on is a visit visa for me and i had to provide all the supporting documents for this. So there is plenty of prof. One problem is on her visa it said she would return after 2 weeks but we changed the flight as I earn a decent income so supporting her has not been a problem. She will not of overstayed her visa just stayed longer than arranged.

ok thanks. yes i understand she will have to leave and re-apply once in thailand. maybe better i i call the registry office? Is there a different visa she would be able to get so she could work here. its only a 1 year plan until i can return back to thailand with her myself.

Does anybody know the procedure for this? if it is legal to do while just on a tourist visa. I cant seem to find any info on this. Also what sort of cost will I be looking at basically we are literally just wanting a confirmed marriage. Thanks anybody in advance.

After living in Thailand for a year I picked up a satisfactory amount of the language. I would like to keep learning at it and I am considering purchasing the rosetta stone vol 2 in Thai. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews on this item. Does any body have any feedback on this item?

Does anybody know where to find what convicted criminals are sentenced to. I see so many posts about people being arrested for crimes, but never see any news on what they get as their punishment. I know Thailand are extremely harsh on their sentencing, no mercy taken. Just out of general interest really. Thanks

Just looking for any helpful advice from anybody with experience in obtaining a UK visa for a Thai spouse. I lived in Thailand for 13 months 9 of those months me and my girlfriend stayed together. Having returned to the UK to have a better future career and live in Thailand full time. I am hating the fact now me and my girlfriend are separated. We both do not have much money, she works in a restaurant in BKK and gets 8000 baht a month, currently I am un-employed. This will not be for a long period of time, but when I am employed I will be looking at 2-300 pound a week take home. She was always paid in cash and did not keep it in the bank, me living in Thailand I do not have any UK bank statements. I heard the previous 6 months bank statements will be required to show funds and source of income. My parents have 3 propertys in the uk and my Mum will be willing to be a guarantor. If there is any advice on how she will be successful in obtaining this visa without having to wait 6 months to prove bank statements please let me know.

Without bank charges? That's easy: Pick up the funds in cash.
Smart answer considering I'm in Thailand and I said my intended clients will be from America, Australia and England. Profit margins would be great!! So thanks for your advice but next time you have such an idea, don't pass it on to me.

I'm looking to set an internet site up which will involve receiving funds from America, Austraia and England. Currently I only have a Thai bank account. What will my options be to recieve funds from the customers without them or myself facing bank charges for international transfers.

Thanks for the info. Yes I know it's illegal towork in thailand thout the permit, but unfortunately its the only option I have for 2 months. Can I get a 60 day re-entry visa by travelling to cambodia then.
Thanks

I am on a single entry non-b visa. Within the last couple of days I have only just realised it's a single entry. I thought the s on the number of entries columb was a poorly written 5. Seeing as though its in the numbers section. Anyway I came to Thailand to teach and my NON-B expires on the 6/6. I'm currently on a probation period at a school. After 2 months they are going to provide me with a work permit. I'd be grateful of any information anybody can give me, providing the best options to stay in Thailand until I have my work permit.
Thanks
Getting an ex- Thai gf and child to UK
in Visas and migration to other countries
Posted
18 months ago I had a child with at the time gf. Since then we have broken up and things have been difficult. There's no chance of us being back together again. But it would be a much better life if she could move to the UK with my daughter.
Is this possible? I am willing to o help in anyway I can but I don't want to get married if that's the only way. I am willing to support them both and house them if that makes any difference.
