Love getting the fresh-baked flatbread they make in those open-flame ovens, a few kinds of dips some kebabs or middle-eastern curry yum.
Used to be a nice baklava shop in there, seems to have closed down.
Never encountered even a smidgen of hostility, in general very polite well-mannered area, maybe the fact there's little drinking going on?

You are concentrating on the police allowing you to drive - that is not the problem, you could use just about any scrap of paper especially a pink one and you're fine.
The problem comes when you have an accident. That is when the BiB and especially the insurance will interpret everything to the strict letter of the law.
It is so easy to just get your Thai motorbike DL locally - just do that.
And if you don't have good insurance get that as well, but there is no point in paying for nothing - if you don't get legal first you won't be able to collect.

The authorities in your country will not investigate or take any action for someone living in Thailand - lazy bureaucrats are the same the world over.
You need to go there or have someone there pester them to do their job. That is what a lawyer can do if you don't go yourself.
Or just wait, and the nothing that has occurred will continue to not occur.

Yes either marry her or cut her loose, you aren't the right thing by her or yourself just continuing to muddle along.
And you should not compromise your career path.

To clarify, management is not allowed to reduce salary or ANY terms & benefits, including even assigning more difficult or demeaning duties not covered by the job description without the specific agreement of the employee.
However of course if you refuse they can terminate you but they have to give the proper notice and severance payments based on the recent pay level.
The employee can then sue for wrongful dismissal and may well win, but the penalty is usually small, maybe just another month or two's salary.
There is no way they can try to get staff to "pay back" a past increase against their will - legally that is.
They may get you to agree to it in exchange for the privilege of continuing to work there though.
Management is of course always free to give INCREASES in pay or conditions, but if ongoing, these become the new normal and can't be dropped again later on.
Performance bonus incentives and so on should be given randomly rather than based on a published formula or they become part of the base package.
