i think I heard Fauci, some time ago, state that a PCR test of more than 28 cycles was practically useless. However, I may have misheard this. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

perhaps this is not the precise section to post this, but here goes.
My family and I are farmers in Isaan, and we would very much like to get in touch with anyone who is on a similar wavelength to us. Namely, self sufficiency, and far less dependancy on the major institutions, banks, big pharma, GMO seeds, energy companies etc etc., not necessarily in Isaan but elsewhere too.

my wife is a natural in the garden. we have many different crops, mostly from seed, however weve had no joy with avocados.
we have many avocado trees from seeds. some from the changmai variety, some from imported fruit, and a couple i brought from my home in the Canary islands.
after 5 years , no sign of any fruit.
any ideas?

not an answer to your question, but just to say, after getting my yellow book some 5 years ago, i applied for a thai style id pink card, at the same ampur, and had one in a couple of days. while this card by no means is in lieu of a passport, i found it useful for tourist attraction discounts, and also as id.
whenever im asked for id (not police) i show my pink card and if thats not enough i dig out my passport. So far it's been good for rail, bus travel, my bank, shops, and many other situations. all i would say is that its virtualy free and is very useful, and doesnt appear to have n expiry date.

i suppose i will need some kind of power of attorney or last will and testament or suchlike

i keep the lump sum in my thai bank account, and would like my wife to have access to it, in the event of my death. I think her using my ATM card may not be so reliable or efficient, Is there a way I can make sure of this?

i'm p;anning to return to my home in Isaan as soon as I am released fom Europe. I heard that a certificate of vaccination would be required. I realize at present there is no such vaccine, but i ws wandering if the Thai authorities would recognise refusal of the vaccine due to religious or philosophical reasons

my home province is Ubon, but I'm in Prachuap province on a visit. My 90 day is up on April 22nd
The local imm office here told me I could not report at their office, only my home province,
however i found this on the official website
(Updated last June 8, 2018) You can file your 90-day report (or authorize someone to file for you) at any of the following locations:
- Immigration Bureau Office, Chaengwattana Road, Bangkok
- One Stop Center Chamchuri Square Centre (if your visa was issued here)
- Immigration offices throughout the country
Any comments?

continuing on this topic can anyone tell me if i can get the reentry permit at any immigration office
-
I usually deposit funds in my thai current account to satisfy immigration of the
3 months rule.
Does anyone know whether I can use a savings account to do this?
-
thanks ubonjoe
i think ill go to my local branch just in case
-
I need to renew my non mo visa based on retirement, so I need to get a certificate confirming the funds have been in place for 3 months.
Can I get such a certificate from any branch of my bank ,( KTB ) or does it have to be my own branch.
-
My 90 notification date was Sept 12. Am i correct in thinking I have 7 days grace, which would mean I am ok to renew it on sept 19, or will they do the procedure of counting the 12th and 19th, thus making it 8 days, and facing a penalty? Also, do all immigration offices follow the same procedure? In my case it will be Ubon. Sorry if this has been answered before.

hi ubonjoe
I showed this document to a friend who understands English, and it appears that it is dated 2551 i.e. 2008, and seems to refer to id cards for Thais. What I am looking for is a letter that the minister of internal affairs sent out to all tessaban and amphoes dated february this year (2559 i.e. 2016).

thank you ubon joe

I have read various helpful posts on this subject, but my local Amphur will not issue me with an id card, even though they issued me with the yellow book 3 months ago.
I think the only chance I have , of getting this pink card, is if I can show them an official notice, in Thai, stating that I am entitled to one. Can anyone out there send me a copy of such a notice, of info on how I can get it.
