What always worries me is electrical wires all over the floor in open air markets. they must be easily damaged on the rough dirt floors. When it rains this must make it highly dangerous.

Is that a government hospital, seems expensive?
A friend recently got a hip replacement done in Khon Kaen for 70,000 baht.
Yes it is a government hospital and I only got quotes from Pattaya and Bangkok hospitals. The price I paid was the cheapest of them all. On reflection
maybe I should have looked further afield.

Have any Brits that have been here a long time been back to U.K. and received NHS treatment, if so how long to qualify prior to surgery?
I need a replacement knee and been here 20 years but am still registered with a doctor.
I have also lived here for 20 years. I didn't even consider going back to the UK for my operations, as it would have meant staying there for a very long time of which I didn't fancy one bit. In August 2018 I had a complete right knee replacement and in September 2019 I had the same operation on my left knee. Both were carried out at City hospital Pattaya, and each cost 280,000 baht.
I feel it's a lot to pay out when I have paid National Insurance and taxes all my life and never ever claimed one penny in all them years. We should be able to enjoy the benefits of the NH but like the pension we have been cheated.

I have TOT fiber to my house, almost every day my internet stops, with the red light appearing on router, sometimes if i unplug and reboot it then connects SOMTIMES, I have made complaints now on a daily basis, technicians have come before, the latest was yesterday and the day before, they removed a small circuit stripped the cable and used a crimping device. perfect. until an hour ago then red light on again ! I phoned TOT again Sometimes they reconnect it this morning i unplugged again and it came back not sure if it was rebooting it or that they reconnected. Does anybody else get daily problems ?
I have had the fibre optic for about 2 years now. There has not been one day without it going off. TOT told me that this was normal and I have to pull the plug out and reconnect it. When I do this it reconnects every time. It only ever goes off once a day and although inconvenient I just get on with it. I live in the Chachoengsou area.

Was always going to happen. People looked at Dominic Cummings getting away with it and decided its OK for them to do the same.
So if he put his head in a gas oven all these people would do the same

Don't ever invest in Thailand what you can't walk away from.

How stupid do you think people are? There are only eg 6 cases in Phitsanulok. Do you think for one minute if someone died of Covid 19 they could hide it and get away with it? Thais gossip the same as everyone but out of 870,000 people who live there not one rumour suggesting there are people dying of Covid 10 is being circulated. Hospitals have thousands of staff u simply cant hide the truth from all..........you're the one that is in denial about how well Thailand for whatever reason has handled this
And the same in Chachoengsou. I have heard of 3 or 4 people having the virus and not heard of one death. Same for my friends in other provinces. Give some credit where its due.

If I was living in England, I would be worried about going out even if the Government lifted the ban. May 1st had 6201 new cases and 739 new deaths. That does not look like its on the decline to me as the Government is stating.

It's a shame we are not leaving on WTO terms. It would save all this <deleted> being spoken on here.

I agree with everything you say and can't think of anything else to add to the list. I would love to own another XJ6 Jaguar but a half decent one cost anything over 10,000 baht here and only worth a little over a thousand pounds in UK.

I have a nice bundle waiting to exchange but not at this low rate. I think it's worth the gamble to wait.

Does anyone know if there are ever any reports of tiger attracts on hikers exploring the national parks. I would love to go hiking but am a little worried about that possibility.
the chances are miniscule.
Always remember if you are with a friend - you only have to run slightly faster than them!
Unfortunately I've never won a race yet

There is no longer capital gains tax exempion for ex pats as from last April. I have lived out of England for many years and still own two houses there. I was advised by my accountant to have a valuation as of last April on both properties. If I decide to sell at a later date these valuations will be taken into account and I will pay tax on the amount above the valuation.

WOW. There are some very strange people around here.
Taking the word of a Thai after they gang attack another tourist?
What do you expect these criminals to say? Sheeesh.
Please tell me what you would do if a druken farang assulted your girlfriend. Maybe he got what he deserved.

I guess prices will be raised now ?
My experience of Samui is that they raise the prices when they have no tourist. Not when they have them.
In my opinion this is one of the reasons they have lost tourism to other resorts such as Pattaya where it is still cheap.

Funny the words used by farang that are obviously learned from a bar girl. My GF is quite fastidious in what I should and should not learn. Occasionally I use a word I've picked up here on TV and she is usually shocked. we've got an understanding too...whenever she says a word that I don't know and it has an "L" or and "R" sound, I ask "Ror rua or lor ling?" She doesn't want me saying things like "aloi" it has to be "aroi" with a fair amount of rolling the "r".
I think it all depends on what part of Thailand she comes from or what part you live in.

Yes we can all cook our favorite foods as I do. But what about foods like winkles and cockles, although you can bye them here, they have not got the texture and taste as my country England. We had them every Sunday for tea when I was a boy and I carried on having them most of my life until I came to Thailand 13 years ago. I would give almost anything for a pint of winkles. .

I always give a small amount usually 20 baht to all disabled people. I feel very lucky that I have had a good reasonably healthy life.Unlike in western countries they receive no government help. What are they supposed to do if they don't beg for help ? Why shouldn't they be able to buy a lottery ticket once in a while and have a bit of enjoyment.

Cost dental implant in Pattaya
in Pattaya
Posted
After a lot of research, I decided to go to India for my implants. I had 7 implants along with bone graft in the upper jaw. In the lower jaw I had 5 implants all German made. All porcelain teeth. The total cost was 509,000 Baht. Approximately 11200 pounds. I had a quote in Thailand for my upper jaw only, with bone graft 4 implants and teeth 380,000 Baht. They said extra implants would be about 45,000 per implant extra. So India about 50 % cheaper. I chose a clinic in Mumbai which was ultra clean and modern, far better than any clinic I have seen in Thailand. I was met at the airport and driven to my hotel and same on return home, taken to the airport. The whole doctors and all staff were extremely nice and friendly. It has been just over one year since I finished treatment and I am still very happy with the results.
