We were down at Jomtien Beach recently. Stood by a large notice explaining swimming safety rules. Guess the other popular beaches might also have these notices?

No wonder the 7000 islands of the Philippines are becoming the Number One Tourist destination for long haul holiday makers. So many pristine beaches to be found.

Thanks for so much useful information. I know there are many Brits who are unable to return to the UK with their spouse/partner because of the £18600 minimum income threshold. The EEA option provides a work around the income barrier for some. A recent high court judgement is causing the government to review the income threshold policy.
All the same it appears that the siringa route is not open to retiree's.

I was wondering if anyone is clever enough to work through the alternatives and options on the Surinder Singh route for British Citizens as a preferred way to enter the UK with a spouse or partner from any EEA region. In this manner a UK Citizen acquires the same less demanding rights as other EU Citizens for entry into the UK.

I had a similar situation. Unfortunately we were married before the true character emerged. I had invested in two houses and a business and tried to make our situation stable. Thing went from bad to worse. I needed permission to go out of our front gate for fear I could meet up with someone else.
Finally I made a plan to dump my lifestyle, walk out and go back to my home country. After a row I took our car to the airport, purchased a ticket, left a text message to say the keys are in the car then cut all communications from that day till this.
Now I am in a new and very happy relationship. I lost so much financially but I got my sanity and happiness back.
