Indeed... However, for some the direct route would be worth the additional cost.

Thai have a direct route to Frankfurt...  In business (or First) many would not like to be woken up 6 hrs into a night flight, especially in First where its more like sleeping in a bed and a decent nights sleep can actually be achieved.

IF Emirates had the 'non-stop' routes they would be better hands down, but would they still have the same cost saving compared to Thai ?

It's not quite comparing apples with apples when making a comparison of non-stop vs flights with a stop.

    You make a valid point..

  2. I fly frequently and agree that Savarnabhumi and Dubai airports are not user friendly....but not sure why Changi is rated as the best....Singapore Airlines and airport staff are like robots...smile on smile off....no sincerety and very rigid....like a military regime...possibly a reflection of the strict control of the country and their subjects....but I admit it creates a safe and secure environment ....

  3. I am sorry to say but the Thai education system is a reflection of the cultural deficiencies...everyone knows better and not prepared to take advise from outsiders while most teachers and administratorder  are too lazy to do a proper job.....it comes from being an insular cultural.....a Thai graduates from university but can't speak English.....too much poor quantity!!! Little quality!!!

This is what happened when an a LCC airline is getting full of themselves

and thinking that they're too good to be simple and cheap any longer

like they have started out with.... I gave them the flick long time ago.....

I avoid flying with Air Asia...at least on Nok Air you don't pay for checked luggage!

This is common practice in Thailand. ...everywhere in dense traffic in Bangkok on open roads ...I'm not surprised about the death toll. ...its anot indication of poor discipline and lawlessness...the Thais need a  General to rule them to tell them to behave ...they are not being taught when they grow up.

There are so many thing wrong with this OP.

They accepted that it was OK, till they got caught.

That sex with a child prostitute is an "acceptable" gift.

That senior officials thought it was OK (till now) and acceptedd these "gifts".

That "Juniors" knew that is what they were required to provide.

That trafficking these girls was OK.

    Ad infinitum.

And now they try to take the moral high ground against what has been a state sponsored, and,  I have no doudt, financed program.

    I cannot comment further, disgusted.

We as foreigners don't understand .....its Thainess

Indeed. Drilled into all UK bike licence holders over and over and over again. Look back, look over your shoulder, look back. Stopping, look back, turning, look back, pulling off, look back, changing lanes, look back.

I suspect the driver had not undergone any bike training in the UK (which has been mandatory to get a licence for many years) but figured he could handle both a scooter and Thai driving conditions.

In Thailand I often witness foreigners drive like the Thais...no helmet on the wrong side of the road... I suspect the lawlessnes gives them a feeling of freedom...its unfortunately risky very risky and result in accidents injuries and death....I am very sorry for the death of the young woman....its sad!
