Of all the places to go in the world, why do people choose that place. Don't they do any research when planning a trip?

Yawn, not going to happen, Prayuth knows it, the police know it, everyone knows it, so why even bother discussing it, or setting up a Committee to be paid to do nothing.
Sad but true....

didnt the man check the amount on the deposit receipt or even watch her count it, you never simply ignore everything when depositing money especially in Thailand.
Yes it's is simple as that...check the deposit receipt and refuse to leave if there is a disagreement over the amount deposited..

Indeed... However, for some the direct route would be worth the additional cost.
Thai have a direct route to Frankfurt... In business (or First) many would not like to be woken up 6 hrs into a night flight, especially in First where its more like sleeping in a bed and a decent nights sleep can actually be achieved.
IF Emirates had the 'non-stop' routes they would be better hands down, but would they still have the same cost saving compared to Thai ?
It's not quite comparing apples with apples when making a comparison of non-stop vs flights with a stop.
You make a valid point..

Go Vladimir go! Put it in!

Be warned boy... General Napoleon does not tolerate critizism or advise.. it makes the nation unhappy!

A Thai university among the top 100 ...heheeee you must be joking!

Getting Thai people to behave properly and safe with consideration for other road users will require educations of generations to follow... including the traffic police responsible for setting poor examples... similar to here in Africa, it illustrates the rotten moral fabric of a nation... is endemic in Thai society its Thainess...

Koh Tao island is death island, everybody knows that now. It is mafia controlled and if you sstand on someone toes on the island there will be consequences.
I would never go there, it is dangerous for tourists and the public so people must be made aware.
Don't go to Koh Tao!!!

I fly frequently and agree that Savarnabhumi and Dubai airports are not user friendly....but not sure why Changi is rated as the best....Singapore Airlines and airport staff are like robots...smile on smile off....no sincerety and very rigid....like a military regime...possibly a reflection of the strict control of the country and their subjects....but I admit it creates a safe and secure environment ....

There is a crucial difference. You ADD charges with those airlines, not have to take them off.
You are correct... Air Asia is certainly one of the worst for trying to add on hidden charges!!!
AVOID AIR ASIA

The Thais have an inherent cultural deficiency and need a General to control them.... when left up to themselves all try to steal more then neighbour.....they are, like many African countries, unfit for democracy!
-
I am sorry to say but the Thai education system is a reflection of the cultural deficiencies...everyone knows better and not prepared to take advise from outsiders while most teachers and administratorder are too lazy to do a proper job.....it comes from being an insular cultural.....a Thai graduates from university but can't speak English.....too much poor quantity!!! Little quality!!!

You will be impressed with Chiang Rai if you come from Bangok....less traffic....but avoid a restaurant called melt in your mouth...the most arrogant management I ever experienced makes the food stuck in your throat...

This is common practice in Thailand. ...everywhere in dense traffic in Bangkok on open roads ...I'm not surprised about the death toll. ...its anot indication of poor discipline and lawlessness...the Thais need a General to rule them to tell them to behave ...they are not being taught when they grow up.

This is positive ... at least Napoleon won't interrupt transmission of international tennis on the pay TV channel as he did in the past to tell the nation and the expats how he is bringing back happiness to the Thai people....

There are so many thing wrong with this OP.
They accepted that it was OK, till they got caught.
That sex with a child prostitute is an "acceptable" gift.
That senior officials thought it was OK (till now) and acceptedd these "gifts".
That "Juniors" knew that is what they were required to provide.
That trafficking these girls was OK.
Ad infinitum.
And now they try to take the moral high ground against what has been a state sponsored, and, I have no doudt, financed program.
I cannot comment further, disgusted.
We as foreigners don't understand .....its Thainess

Indeed. Drilled into all UK bike licence holders over and over and over again. Look back, look over your shoulder, look back. Stopping, look back, turning, look back, pulling off, look back, changing lanes, look back.
I suspect the driver had not undergone any bike training in the UK (which has been mandatory to get a licence for many years) but figured he could handle both a scooter and Thai driving conditions.
In Thailand I often witness foreigners drive like the Thais...no helmet on the wrong side of the road... I suspect the lawlessnes gives them a feeling of freedom...its unfortunately risky very risky and result in accidents injuries and death....I am very sorry for the death of the young woman....its sad!

Clear them out !!! They make it virtually impossible for pedestrians to walk on the pavements while dumping their dirty oil and dishwater on the curb!! Bangkok will be a much better city without them! Let them operate in sidestreets and so is off the main roads!!!!
