  1. the cheap charlies have been sitting on beach road in the evenings opposite soi 8 on their beach chairs for years. They buy beer at the 7-11, sit there and drink listening to the music from the bar on the corner of soi 8. I agree with the poster who said, "if you are concerned about beer prices...stay home...I mean stay home in your own country. whinning about 10-30 baht difference in a price of beer is just stupid. Too many cheap ass people just taking up space and whinning.

  2. I am really confused. I have been reading forums from Thailand for years....mostly for amusement, but in some cases to get useful info on hotels, bars etc.

My question: Why do people feel they have to explain themselves when making a statement in here? Even more so, why would anyone post their laundry in here. Like I said...confused....maybe I am just too private...who knows...just an observation.

  3. here is a food outside restaurant across the street from the beer garden....it is a nice place to sit and drink beer...can watch the ladies coming and going from the beer garden. It is outside but has a roof that is about 10 ft high, so very airy area. Also soi 7/1 has a few bars that have seating in front of the bars...not much travel....but all the bars and massage places have ladies outside trying to get customers to come in...so a little eye candy there.

  4. here is information you need. First of all, you marriage to the American citizen HAS to be legal in the SA, meaning a marriage certificate was created. Your son, would have had to be registered as his son in the USA. Your husband could hav done that very easily by getting a passport issued in his sons name, this would have required paperwork to show that he indeed was the son. As far as the marriage, if it was legal and if there was no pre-nump....the wife whether in this country or not is entitled to his assets. If a pre-nump was written, that would overrule that scenario. The will part, if there was a will, then that will would have to be followed. Most states will acknowledge any assets before the marriage are exempt from wife priviledge, meaning, what he owned before the marriage is not pat of the marriage and therefore, not hers, unless the will says otherwise.

Social security; if the husband had registered the marriage, and also had a passport showing he had a son, the wife would get her husbands social security and would also get social security for the son until he turns 18. We are talking about approximately $3000 per month until the son turns 18, then the social security would stop. The reason, the son gets social security because the father passed away, the wife would get his social security because she would be the care-taker of his son.

What you need is passports, marriage certificate and social security number.

If he never legally married, the wife would be out his part of social security, if she can prove that the son is his, she should be able the get about $1500 per month for taking care of the child.

  5. I am not sure what the problem is. I have 3 kasikorn accounts...2 in patts one in bangkok. I have 2 cards, one is a debit card, one is a credit card...I am not retired in Thailand, I travel back and forth and put money in each account every trip, I spend less than I bring so in thepast 5 years all thw accounts have grown. Talk to kasikorn on 2nd road just before soi bawkow...I got my cards through that branch.

  6. I am not sure what info you have been receiving, but this is directly from SS admin. I also wanted to try and get SS for my wife.

First of all, she will never get any SS if she does not work in the US and pay into the system, your SS is YOURS only.

exceptions: If you pass away and have a child before passing, you need to have the child registered as your birth child in the us, get a SS # for the child. Also, if married and show proof of marriage, THEN your wife will get SS until the child is 18, only because she would be the primary care taker of YOUR child, the child will also get SS until he/she is 18.

The wife, if no child is involved will NEVER get SS from you or the USA period!!
