  1. I did stop for the Thai policeman and explained I did not believe the other man was a policeman I produced my licence , tax and was wearing a helmet.

It seems to me due to the ambiguity of who has what rights I would be served best by avoiding these "Policemen"

If this is so perhaps in some of the foreign language publications here in Thailand can print some information to clear up any misconceptions myself and perhaps others have.

Also information can be posted in some of the many forums here in the land of smiles.

I can only answer your first question.

When I spoke to the Thai policeman in Thai, the "volunteer " did not appear to understand what I had said so that and his non Thai accent and lookIng a westerner makes me believe he was not Thai.

The other questions I would also like answered.

    Thanks

    Thank you for the information.

However the volunteer was wearing a full Thai police uniform which your group appere on your web site not to be doing.

The question I would like answered is does a non Thai volunteer police man have the right to stop and ask for my documents.

I think the answer to this is No, however I would like to know your opinion!

  5. Can someone please help I would like to know the extent of a police volunteers powers in Pattaya.

The reason I am asking is today a police volunteer tried to stop me on my motor bike at the dolphin round about. I drove straight past him and stopped at the Thai policeman I spoke Thai to him and told him I had not stopped at the volunteer as he was not a proper police man.

I showed my licence and was told I could go.

The western police volunteer then approched me and asked why I had not stopped for him. I said I thought he had no right to step out in the road and stop me as he was not a proper police man.

We're apron he asked why I thought that as he had a uniform a badge an a number.

I said this was bull----- and the Thai police man asked him to move away and for me to leave which I did.

So the question is does this volunteer have the right to stop me?

I was under the impression that they are not police officers but if I am wrong please correct me.

    Law abiding citizen.

  6. Well I decided to put my putting to the test & recorded my putting 1 put 2 put 3 puts & there distances & proved what I already knew.

My putting stroke was good but distance control & green reading were poor.

I decided to contact Potters to see if he could help me which he was glad to do.

First of all he observed my putting stroke which was OK & after some questions & more putting we decided to concentrate on green reading & distance control.

Distance control was perhaps the easier due to the fact I had just been estimating how far a putt was (guessing) and by pacing out the distance over a very short time was able to be more accurate.

Then we went over green reading he uses Aim-point as the basis of his green reading which in fact is a very easy system to become competent even without using the aim point charts.

I then went away for a couple of weeks of playing & practicing as the rain allowed, then went & did a top up - reminder of what I was supposed to be doing which I seemed to of remembered most of.

End result : I now putt with confidence that I am on the right line (as best as I can judge) And my distance control is pretty good.

Prior to lessons putting average about 38 puts per round now 34 & has been as low as 32 but the main difference is now from a long put I only have a 1 to 2 foot tap in.

    Thanks for your help Potters

  7. Played there several times over the last few years, All I can say is take some old balls, plenty of blind shots or shots over water. Highland course, very picturesque & hilly cart only.

Valley both sides’ old rubber trees - Need to be straight - You can walk some long walks in between holes but on at least 2 they picked us up in a truck.

Overall would rather play the Highlands - an experience rather than your normal round of golf!

As in the other posts Thai driving licence gets you thai price Make sure you book or they may not have caddys.
