  1. Anyone stupid enough to get a tramp stamp in the first place should at least read the research in to the damage the inks will do to your body in the long run. More so if you insist on a plethora of colors in your tramp stamp. There are numerous toxins in the inks and over time these toxins are absorbed into your skin and will cause cancer. It's not a matter of if but when the damage you have inflicted on yourself will manifest itself. And for these idiots who come to Thailand and take a chance in the numerous Tat parlors that seem to spring up on every corner are you brain dead? At least in Western countries there are needle standards and health standards attatced to these places.

  2. If you are a Newbie and come to Thailand because of its ease to get laid then most likely you will hit the bars because of the ease of being successful in them. Granted the girls these days are more mercenary than even ten years ago and they are good at separating you from your money. I imagine for most of those guys its money well spend and they head back home with smiles in on their faces and lighter wallets. For long term guys like myself the bars have become a thing of the past as far as dipping the old wick when the urge arises. We have seen the changes in the girls attitude, the increasing prices for lackluster service and said enough is enough of this B.S. With the proliferation of dating sites, i.e. Thai Friendly its easy to get a lady for the quick in and out at prices that are more like what you paid in a bar ten or even fifteen years ago. Im talking 1000 baht for two hours with someone who will come to you and not come and go in heated rush. Here in Chiang Mai I keep these ladies on speed dial and am constantly adding to the list, its just that simple. Date/go with a bargirl again?? Yeah right, when pigs fly.

  3. You can mitigate the dangers of this haze by reducing your time outdoors, wearing a proper mask, exercising daily to keep your lungs healthy and for the idiots who still smoke here in Chaing Mai stop it NOW. Its not rocket science as I am sure that most of the ExPats dont spend most of their days in the great outdoors. Yeah, its bad out there but using some common sense will ensure that you dont put your health at risk.

  4. From birth to the grave Thais are thought that their country is the best and places like Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are beneath them. They cannot understand nor will they ever accept the fact that in this Asean Community they are now a part off Thailand comes off fourth best. With their inability to understand that Thailand is a third world country is it any wonder why they treat Expats the way they do?? We are white skin devils.

  5. Don't regret my choice as I have had a good run. But now, I am about to load up the wagon and head off to Hoi An, Vietnam where I will feel more welcomed and won't have to deal with Thai Immigration and their collective hated for ExPats. A nice country, nice people for the most part, great food and a low cost of living all ruined by DIC...HEADS namely BIGGEST JOKE.

  6. When I visit the North Face Outlet in Berkeley, Ca. On my return visit to San Francisco every Christmas season the place is jammed packed with Chinese tourists buying everything in sight. They have over run the place and make shopping a real problem and that's before the Outlet have their twice yearly sales. Of course having looked at the North Face shops in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and seen the prices even though most of the merchandise is made in Thailand its no wonder nobody buys here. I certainly don't as I can get the same articles for 30% to 40% less in Berkeley.

  7. Looking for the best price on name brands?? Outlet stores are your go to place. Last seasons line, slow moving styles, minor flaws are there for amazing prices. Of course I am referring to those places in the U.S. Here in Thailand I can get the top of the line knockoffs without much trouble. And really who needs to be a modern day Beau Brummel in this climate?

  8. I don't know if it still the case but 12 maybe 15 years ago you could go to the bars off the lobby in the Peninsula Hotel in the evening and there would be Japanese ladies dressed like movie stars who were there for the express purpose of having an affair with a Western guy. Most of them were successful business owners who might be married but this
was their opportunity to spread their wings. You had to look like a gentleman so Twatpackers and Cheap Charlie Expats were not on their radar. You would dress properly, act properly and sit in the bar and catch the eye of one of these Japanese ladies and by the way there were always at least a half dozen of them. You offered to buy them a drink and asked if you could sit with them. Once they accepted you were home free unless you were a clueless idiot. You were invited to their room and did the mattress mambo and out the door you went after. They were not looking for a relationship only one night of sex. When I look back on those days it is with fond memory.
