Anyone stupid enough to get a tramp stamp in the first place should at least read the research in to the damage the inks will do to your body in the long run. More so if you insist on a plethora of colors in your tramp stamp. There are numerous toxins in the inks and over time these toxins are absorbed into your skin and will cause cancer. It's not a matter of if but when the damage you have inflicted on yourself will manifest itself. And for these idiots who come to Thailand and take a chance in the numerous Tat parlors that seem to spring up on every corner are you brain dead? At least in Western countries there are needle standards and health standards attatced to these places.

This remodeling of a new Condo after one has purchased it is astounding. Why did they buy in that particular Condo if they didn't like the way it looked?? And by the way some of the remodeling I have seen leaves me to wonder is their taste only in their mouths??

I tried believing in God once upon a time. I introduced myself, asked about getting to know him better and sod-a-dog he didn't have the simple courtesy to answer me. Oh right I'm supposed to take all that fairly tale on blind faith.

Stay away from Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, the whole of Issan and anyplace that does not an International Airport. That narrows your choices to places like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Surat Thani.

You were stupid enough in first place to stay in a hotel room that had no safe to put all your valuables in, you got robbed. What did you think might happen?? Sorry, silly me I thought you had a brain.

If you are a Newbie and come to Thailand because of its ease to get laid then most likely you will hit the bars because of the ease of being successful in them. Granted the girls these days are more mercenary than even ten years ago and they are good at separating you from your money. I imagine for most of those guys its money well spend and they head back home with smiles in on their faces and lighter wallets. For long term guys like myself the bars have become a thing of the past as far as dipping the old wick when the urge arises. We have seen the changes in the girls attitude, the increasing prices for lackluster service and said enough is enough of this B.S. With the proliferation of dating sites, i.e. Thai Friendly its easy to get a lady for the quick in and out at prices that are more like what you paid in a bar ten or even fifteen years ago. Im talking 1000 baht for two hours with someone who will come to you and not come and go in heated rush. Here in Chiang Mai I keep these ladies on speed dial and am constantly adding to the list, its just that simple. Date/go with a bargirl again?? Yeah right, when pigs fly.

The ease of shagging a Thai girl is what makes them very attractive. For those Thai girls on the game sex is just a job and I like that. Wham, Bam, thank you Mamam hand over the Baht and out the door I go.

You can mitigate the dangers of this haze by reducing your time outdoors, wearing a proper mask, exercising daily to keep your lungs healthy and for the idiots who still smoke here in Chaing Mai stop it NOW. Its not rocket science as I am sure that most of the ExPats dont spend most of their days in the great outdoors. Yeah, its bad out there but using some common sense will ensure that you dont put your health at risk.

Earslings is a Norse term used by the Vikings to insult their foes. Calling one an Earsling was calling them a piece of sh....it.

A bloody shame the Mods. here get their nickers in an uproar when you take a total Toss..er like that guy in Pattaya who did nothing to warrenty any
type of help and flame him mercilessly for his bad behavior. That Earslings is laughing while sitting in his favorite pub swilling his Archa and smoking his fags knowing he put one over on the idiots who fell for his blarney in the first place.

I have to give this Wan... Ker credit, he gamed the system and got people to pay for his stupidity in the first place. A life long smoker, no funds to provide for his well being despite being an aged Brit. no intention of stop smoking and yet idiots send him money. Whomever said "there's a sucker every minute" sure nailed it in this case.

Don't other looking any further than Equador. Mountains, beaches, low cost of living, good infrastructure, U. S. dollar is the currency and retiring there is easy.

Get thee to either Panama or Equador. Check them out and see why they are always listed in the top five for retirees.

Chiang Mai, has a cold season kinda sort of, has an Airport with a lot of foreign flight options, has mountains to look at most of the time and you
ride your mountain bike up and down great trails, a better nightlife, lots more restaurant choices, better choices for accomodations. I could go on and on but enough. CHIANG MAI rocks.

From birth to the grave Thais are thought that their country is the best and places like Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are beneath them. They cannot understand nor will they ever accept the fact that in this Asean Community they are now a part off Thailand comes off fourth best. With their inability to understand that Thailand is a third world country is it any wonder why they treat Expats the way they do?? We are white skin devils.

Since both my motorbike and car license have my passport number on them I never carry my passport. Even traveling In Country by plane I simply present my license and not a problem. The same goes for checking in to a hotel. Losing or having your Passport stolen and then dealing with the hassle that goes with that is not worth it, IMO.

Don't regret my choice as I have had a good run. But now, I am about to load up the wagon and head off to Hoi An, Vietnam where I will feel more welcomed and won't have to deal with Thai Immigration and their collective hated for ExPats. A nice country, nice people for the most part, great food and a low cost of living all ruined by DIC...HEADS namely BIGGEST JOKE.

Silly person thinking about moving to Thailand in the first place. Vietnam is now THE place to opt for.

When I visit the North Face Outlet in Berkeley, Ca. On my return visit to San Francisco every Christmas season the place is jammed packed with Chinese tourists buying everything in sight. They have over run the place and make shopping a real problem and that's before the Outlet have their twice yearly sales. Of course having looked at the North Face shops in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and seen the prices even though most of the merchandise is made in Thailand its no wonder nobody buys here. I certainly don't as I can get the same articles for 30% to 40% less in Berkeley.

Looking for the best price on name brands?? Outlet stores are your go to place. Last seasons line, slow moving styles, minor flaws are there for amazing prices. Of course I am referring to those places in the U.S. Here in Thailand I can get the top of the line knockoffs without much trouble. And really who needs to be a modern day Beau Brummel in this climate?

I don't know if it still the case but 12 maybe 15 years ago you could go to the bars off the lobby in the Peninsula Hotel in the evening and there would be Japanese ladies dressed like movie stars who were there for the express purpose of having an affair with a Western guy. Most of them were successful business owners who might be married but this
was their opportunity to spread their wings. You had to look like a gentleman so Twatpackers and Cheap Charlie Expats were not on their radar. You would dress properly, act properly and sit in the bar and catch the eye of one of these Japanese ladies and by the way there were always at least a half dozen of them. You offered to buy them a drink and asked if you could sit with them. Once they accepted you were home free unless you were a clueless idiot. You were invited to their room and did the mattress mambo and out the door you went after. They were not looking for a relationship only one night of sex. When I look back on those days it is with fond memory.

The bars on Loy Kroh are slowly dying, they cannot be replaced by another if sold. This is perhaps one of the slowest Low Seasons in many a year and that's according to a guy who has had Pub and Restaurant here for 14 years. What do expect when there are no customers? Raising prices is their only alternative even with a good staff you are hanging on by a thread. I go down Loy Kroh road three times a week at night and make it a point to slow down and look inside the bars and believe me it it's an ugly sight. No customers, girls sitting on their <deleted> playing on their mobile phones. I gave up a long time ago visiting the bars along this street, prices went up the quality of the girls went down and the fun vibe was gone.

And just how would the clowns at any Immigration Office ever be able to tell if you left your province and simply stayed with friends or had your wife do the check in at any hotel??? This TM-30 B.S, has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese.
