Another foreigner criminal caught in Thailand. . What a shock !!! The place is crawling with them. But agree Pattaya , Phuket tend to be their favorite hangs outs along with Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Bangkok. Good one less scumbag on the streets.
Funny though, how they always seem to gravitate towards Pattaya or Phuket. Must be the entertainment factor?
Bienvenida senor Luis..
Not that many in Chiang Mai... it's Bangkok and the beach resorts they seem to favor.
I think there is if you read Andrew Drummonds reports that is Chiang Mai I am referring to.

I would like to know if the groups that operate in CM need to have work permits to be legal. One such group meets at a 5 star hotel every month . I would like to know if the committee or board of this group and other non profit organisations need to have work permits to be legal?. If you are asked to join one of these groups is it the organisations job to get the work permit or is it the individuals responsibility. I hope this post does not get removed unlike my last one . I don't think this one can offend anyone it is a simple question.

I have heard a recent report of someone's car insurance not paying for repair of a car heavily damaged in a crash that occured when the driver was out after the curfew. Don't know about whether is health insurance is going to pay his medical bills, though.
Unless you know for sure I do not think it is wise to speculate on something you have been told. He may or may not have health insurance unless you already know that he does?.

I use Chiang Mai Insurance , if you ask for Richard he is from the UK so he speaks English .

Someone can be here on a retirement visa/extension and working offshore. Also someone can be so busy with their offshore life/work that they don't want to be bothered trying to figure out the minutiae of the Thai retirement visa regulations and local variations or spend their time wrestling with unwashed masses waiting at the door of the CM Immigration office. Some people just want to enjoy their time in Chiang Mai. Nothing illegal or immoral about employing a visa agent. When one is used, the entire process can take about ten minutes at Immigration.
I know people who have used two visa agents with excellent results:
OS Thai Visa, in the Nimmanheiman area: http://osthaivisa.com/ ask for Khun Pom
and
Assist Thai Visa, in the Chiang Mai Land area: http://www.assistthaivisa.com/ ask for Rhys
Interesting. How is it possible to spend only 10 minutes at immigration if using an agent?
Surely there is no preferential treatment for agents?
It can be even less than 10 minutes in my experience,

Thanks for all the mostly helpful replies. The company mentioned is the one who gave me their price structure over the phone . I will call into the office next week to have a chat with them. Once again thanks.

If it looks like a troll, quacks like a troll.....................
What ever you think it is up to you. I have been in touch with a couple of Visa Agents and the response I got could not have been so different.
The first company I telephoned would not give me any information at all regarding the cost of any of the services that I was asking about. So I telephoned another visa company who gave me a list of their service cost. All I was trying to do is find out what other members could tell me.The two responses I got was not what I was expecting but thanks anyway it gives me a good insight of what to expect.

I would like to know who is the best agent in Chiang Mai and your reasons for suggesting they are the best. I am unsure which one to use.

Secure storage is relatively cheap around 400 baht a month for the smaller bikes. That is what I have been quoted in a secure locked building not sure how much for the bigger bikes.

This depends on the circumstances of the threat ,and what if anything that you did to your good friend for him to feel that he had to threaten you.

anything between 100,000 baht and 1,000,000 baht so many things that depend on the price . As mentioned before make sure that the person selling the land actually owns it.

Who are the other countries that you know can only swear an oath at their consulate or embassy without providing financial documents.
I don't know of any but I am interested to find out who can also do that.
