  1. Yes absolutely screwed up, I have seen Thais treat their own people worse than any Farang would do and they just accept it !!

I guess we forget the cheapest thing on this planet is life, it is the only thing that costs nothing to make.....

well dont keep it such a big secret, which bar have you been going to?

In which country? I've seen a few, and you think that the trafficking of anyone, bar girls, fishing trawlers or whatever is OK.

I broke up with a girl because of the way she treated my Thai staff, and her younger sister, with her parents looking on! You don't need to make your younger sister cry (15) because she hasn't finished the ironing!! I have seen Thai managers in my shop treat the people under them like dirt, go watch a Thai soapy.......

It's the culture, who is at the top? Go and read about the word Khun, where it came from, and what the hierarchy was before. Check out the king who abolished it and made everyone Khun, that's why his picture is in every second Thai shop you go into !!!

Research more about the history of where you are living, you don't understand anyone’s point of view until you see where they come from!!!

i deal with what is, not with pies in the sky.

  2. There already are very close ties between US and Thailand. Thailand is run by Thaksin Shinawatra, and he works for globalist oligarchs at the US-based T-ne21 and their servants ; Cia Dhs Nsa etc. So the ties are already 100%, the problem is it is not the kind of ties that people asked for or would ever say 'yes' to if they were asked.

Any congresswork on behalf of Thai relations, at this point, is meaningless, as Thailand would have to overthrow the Shinawatra crime syndicate before progress could be made, and halt T-ne21 activities. More work at this point would only worsen the situation, it would be like building a second storey on a house where the foundations are cracked all the way through.

are you suggesting that the thai military acted alone when they kicked him out?

  3. feeding the fish at Tha Pae Gate. 10 baht a packet.

just walking the moat is fine too. group tourists get guided tours at somphet market from somewhere. they all seem totally enthralled at that experience.rolleyes.gif

thai cooking classes are very popular to in the ratchdamnoen - ratvithi roads area.

the guided tours of the market could be part of the cooking class experience.

  4. mae sai to china overland?

    ranong to bangladesh overland?

crossing anywherefrom thai then to india overland?

only embassy in thailand for myanmar visa is on sathorn in bkk? gonna be busy. still only 1 month?

i need an adventure am stuck in a rut but last trip to myanmar over a decade ago wasnt a pleasant experience. left after only 8 days in rangoon only.

still got FECs? no atms? no internet? comparatively markedly overprice accommodation?

  5. Aircon buses are never free. The conductors are not particularly active in getting the fares though. The system relies on people being honest.

yeah those blue buses are aircon and i've never seen a free one either. only free ones i've seen are the red ones with a white sticker with thai writing along the whole top of the windscreen. so were tossing up on around 18 baht here for this trip. think ive had only one free trip on a non-free bus that was on a very crowded bus for about 500 meters trip. plus she yelled in agony something like "you cant get off, you havent paid" from somewhere deep within the impenetrable crowd as i was getting off. she simply didnt have time to collect all the oncoming fares for the short trip duration. was afternoon rush hour. i got off anyway and the bus took off a second later.

  6. Both in Petchaburi and in Prachuabkhirikhan I slept in hotels right beside a forested hill, where monkeys were a major problem. Staff warning to keep the door closed at all times, and being woken up by a monkey trying to open a window. Monkeys can get aggressive, and their bite leaves a nasty wound which has to be disinfected thoroughly.

see them at my hotel room window in petchaburi. lopburi too has monkey infestation.

monkey brains served at the table comes to mind from somewhere.

    Monkey good

    People no good

    are you cambodian Briggsy?
