  1. smile.png we have

No offence meant smile.png but I am trying to imagine all our posts here in Google translation! cheesy.gif

.1. Most Thai women would have infinitely better things to do, particularly on a Saturday night

    2. If you sit in a Net cafe and watch 'uneducated' Isaan gals reeling Farang in via email and chat, it's pretty obvious that they have no problem reading English. Occasionally they will enlist the help of a guy to write the 'deep and meaningful' emails, but I've yet to see a single girl who couldnt quickly scan whatever was in her inbox and start hammering out a response.

True, the general population may not have a great deal of interest in written English, but even if they did I suspect they would be more interested in forums dealing with fashion and K-Pop than a mob of bored Farang banging on about crap.

agreed. the much more important things consist of looking at pictures of other thai girls who are wearing that stunned goldfish look. thats it, nothing else except typing/chatting amongst themselves in thai. i dont go to internet cafes any more now that wifi is readily available in hotels and guesthouses. not missing much except my hearing has improved from not having to listen to a room full of screaming brats playing "terrorist wins"

  2. well after some pressing and observing, i can confirm that none of the so far selection methods are absolutely fool proof. all of the selection defects mentioned so far have also resulted in fruit that is edible. hard as in great difficulty in pressing the edge of a thai spoon through the cover and then when inside fruit is as required. sure those with the defects mentioned do result in not good fruit but it isnt absolutely certain that the fruit is defective. so you may be passing over good fruit as well as the not good.

notice too that when you let the store owner do the selection, he/she wont discard the failed press fruit but will return it to the pile.tongue.pngblink.png

  3. Thought as much...

if i could explain to you the proof of the second law of thermodynamics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_law_of_thermodynamics would you be any the wiser?

Three evasive answers and two attempts to elevate yourself above others does not a point make. I'm not convinced you're qualified to lecture on thermodynamics, nor that I need to be relatively wiser. But in your own way you answered my question, so thank you for that.

i'll take it at face value, which is what i was asking of you.

PS. i am not convinced that i couldn't lecture on thermodynamics if i chose to, but on thainess, never.

  4. I can only assume that those suggesting a new passport, or even a change of name and then a new passport, haven't heard of computers and biometrics.

surprised you havent heard of incompetence and thainess.

I think you may find they are not as stupid as you think.

I think the OP would be very stupid to even try transiting through Thailand as he could easily trip up, already been stopped trying to re-enter, no doubt told what they will do next time.

The OP obviously did something to which the Thai authorities did not take too kindly too, and it is not just asian countries that may refuse him entry, places like the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand just to name few may also ban him if they are aware of his offences (even if only alleged), most countries see "entry" to alians as a privilege not a right.

it was you interpreted them as the same thing not i.

  5. so am going to squeeze all my mangosteen before opening them and compare the outcomes with the squeeze. very soon i'll be an expert.

first one i tried was rock hard till i squeezed in the right place, inside was a perfect firm white. this assessment process is going to take some time to master. not to worry, i like mangosteen, ate a kilograms worth in less than the past 24 hrs..

  6. used to get hankerings for baked beans before tops stocked the malaysian brand. sometimes for rolled oats too. potato chips still an absolute necessity but 7 has tastos so no problem there. tinned tuna fish is a farang copy too. moo burgers. ham&cheese toasties, all theses farang food compliment my thai street food and would be sorely missed if not available. milk, and coffee occasionally to. but yes thai food is good after you find a farang friendly place to buy it.

  7. but reading so many egotistical responses on this thread I have realised that arrogance and not love is obvious.

These are the people who will be bitching that my Thai wife ripped me off.

yes farang so arrogant that they believe they've got a monopoly on thai wives ripping them off read this http://nationmultimedia.com/national/Shooters-wife-had-the-key-to-his-safe-Kasikornbank-30214273.html

Chakkrit said on Wednesday that he had filed a police complaint against his wife Dr Nithawadi Phucharoenyos and the bank's Sukhaphibal III branch for theft, saying valuables worth Bt60 million had gone missing from his safe... adding that CCTV images showed Chakkrit's wife asking to open the safe... The former sportsman, who was in jail for alleged assault and domestic violence,..

    be careful out there guys.

  8. The majority of prawns/shimp eaten are farmed prawns rather then caught in the ocean as the article above suggests. Though can't, at this stage, nail that statistic.

BTW ... The global annual production of freshwater prawns in 2010 was about 670,000 tons, of which China produced 615,000 tons (92%).

    Here

As you note, that China figure referes only to freshwater shrimp. As I recall, Thailand is the biggest exporter of (marine) shrimp/shrimp products in the world, around 500,000 mt (off the top of my head).

As for shrimp here, farmed versus wild caught. If you are eating the so called white leg shrimp - its farmed as its not a native species. The giant tiger prawn is both farmed and wild caught.

Interestingly, only farmed shrimp can be exported to US.

think its something to do with dolphin by-catch used as an excuse for local production protection could be wrong.
