  1. Hello fellow fishermen/women!

Let me briefly introduce myself: I'm a Dutch guy who loves fishing. I've been living in Bangkok for 1,5 years but haven't really been able to fish successfully in Thailand yet. In The Netherlands I used to fish for pike and carp mostly.

I've tried to fish on the Chao Praya and the river Pai but I haven't really caught anything mentionable, only a view catfish and some other small fish of which I don't know the names. I’ve brought 2 fishing rods over from The Netherlands and some basic fishing gear.

I know that there are some really big fish on the Chao praya and the surrounding canals. But it’s also very hard to find a good fishing spot in the middle of this concrete jungle. I know about the fishing lakes in the Bangkok area but this is not something in which I’m very interested. I’m more interested in “wild” fish instead of some starving catfish that are really easy to catch. Although it does sound like a fun thing to do, it’s not something I would like to focus on.

So I’m looking for someone who’s already familiar with the fish and fishing techniques in Thailand and who would like to go fishing one day.

I’m looking forward to the responses and if you would like to go fishing, please send me a private message.

    Cheers!

  2. So where are they going to get all the new teachers with an ED degree. And the current teachers will all get sacked. So basically, no more English speaking teachers in Thailand? Shooting their foot, me thinks!

Yes this is going to be a big factor, with this need of an education related degree. This would mean if you have a degree in English then you can teach english, if you have a degree in Math then you can teach math but you can not have a degree in Music and teach english. You could teach english with a education development degree. But to teach english with a Math degree, I don't know because they say they are not related. Also anyone thinking they can get their 3rd waiver will be in for shock. No provisional licenses beyond 4 years for Foreign teachers.

So does this mean that almost everyone is screwed? Guess I’ll have to start looking for a teaching job in communication or concept development. Teaching concept development to Thai students… seems like a real challenge.

  3. The wife showed me a picture of a dam bursting north of BKK. She said it hasn't been put on the news yet, but someone put a picture they took with a mobile and posted on a Thai forum..

She isn't here at the moment, but when she returns from town, I will get her to send me the link and better info.

    Looking forward to the link!

  4. I'm also experiencing this ***ing parking.ps redirecting problem. In fact, while typing this post it has happened 4 or 5 times. Thai Visa what is going on? It has been happening on other websites too since Thursday but on Thaivisa.com it happens every minute!! It only happens on my iPhone and iPad.
