U turns by the Thai government are the only consistent thing you can count on 

At this point I don’t believe anything about plans for opening or for quarantine reductions if it comes from a tourism authority - ever changing story

I have not seen any “R” numbers for Thailand reported? The R number is the number of uninflected people one Covid positive person will likely infect 

if the number is below 1 the virus will burn itself out - how much beyond 1 the R number is allows for projections or rate of spread - 

The only thing that’s going to revive tourism is a solid comprehensive vaccine program with a good vaccine not Chinese or homemade

Sooooo I hear that there are very effective vaccines that can stop this in its tracks .....somehow Thailand isn’t distributing any ????????????????

So as a serious and dedicated big bike rider I see the issues first hand every time I ride. First - the problem is not the big bikes - the bulk of the problem is the scooters. You name it - no helmet, no lights, U turns with no signal or looking before they turn, drunk, whole families on one scooter etc etc etc. also no consequences for anything - other than dying which one would think would be consequences enough. 
 

The laws need updating, as do driving licenses but the police are in fact part of the solution - for bikes and for cars. The law must be enforced and the police need to conduct themselves properly. This also means real on the record fines, actual traffic stops on the road not just checkpoints and real tickets given. I love riding in Thailand but I don’t pretend it’s safe - scoffers are a big issue but so are cars. When is the last time you saw someone pulled over for tail gating ? Doesn’t happen ....

My close friends and even not so close friends have already been fully vaccinated with Moderna or Pfizer in the USA now - Thailand is way behind the curve on this !! 

So Sinovac is approved but Moderna, Pfizer and now Johnson & Johnson are not - and AstraZeneca is not approved in the USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and a host of other nations but is the vaccine of choice for Thailand. 

Does that mean Moderna and Pfizer will be approved for private hospitals to distribute ? Hopefully so

Its all about money as always - 

Always shooting around the real issues and never directly addressing the real issues. Invite the UK or US police to come in enforce the traffic laws, make traffic stops and ticket and make the fines bite. No brown envelopes. That will result in behavior change. Now there are no real consequences other than an eventual accident for driving like an idiot

It was more likely that the govt wanted to make a deal with AZ for exclusive market access for the anointed Thai company selected with zero transparency or selection process -
