Could use some help on this one. I have neen issued a work permit and have been told to pick it up on the 27th in person. I will be flying out of the country tomorrow and will not be returning until the 6th of Jan. The paper that I was given says quite clearly that I must pick it up that day or " it is possible" I will have to start the whole process over. Can anyone help me out with this as I don't want to be stressed out for my whole holiday.

agreed....it is why the no fail system is so embedded in Thai culture....When I firrst started teaching nere, ethics wnt out the window after about a year. Damn. I used to love this country. I have been here for 12 years and been on a Non-B for the last 4 years. I am between jobs and as all those that have been here for a while know that you need more than 30 days on your visa for the next company to work for to process the tourist visa back to a Non -B. Question,( I am sorry "Global Monitors") as I have asked this question before. Can I go to Vientiane, get a 60 day tourist visa(I will certainly be employed with in that time period) and not have to sweat it???

This is all still so murky. I have been on a non b for the last 4 years and am between jobs. Can I still go to Laos and get my 60 days plus the 30 day extension with out having to worry about this 90 day clock that has suddenly started ticking? We are only talking about (for example) going to Piopet and hopping a bus back to BKK right?

So a Nong Kai run to Laos for a 60 day plus the 30 day extension is still viable??

Why is it always big talk...I love living here and all that it brings!! But empty threats and promises seem to plague this place..no floods, no lack in tourism........nobody loses face....like a revolving door of bulls##t!! When does it end?? I am blessed to live in this great land with a beautiful partner, but things have changed from when I arrived 11 years ago....just empty talk and increased prices...good luck Thailand!!!
