  1. 11 hours and u get to sleep laying down or u can walk around, something u cant do on a bus

I have never been on Thai trains (not BTS/MRT), but I see the trains everyday outside my condo, marching down from Hua Lamphong. Gosh! The trains look old ... very old !

Do they have a special cabin where you can buy snacks on board ?

some are old. long distance trains have a snack section but i never go to it. ppl come marching up and down the aisles selling stuff. best option is to stock up at 7-11 before you get on.

just hand over twenty baht and she'll give you correct change.

hmm link is breaking try copy and paste this whole bit https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Don+Mueang+Int'l+Airport+Don+Mueang+Thailand&daddr=Punnawithi+BTS&hl=en&sll=13.807409,100.570221&sspn=0.264054,0.414734&geocode=FZhM1AAdLBX_BSGg_ws9swABDyktpqwdiILiMDGg_ws9swABDw%3BFcje0AAdzSv_BSHWT4aLORIUjSk1POjS-Z_iMDHWT4aLORIUjQ&oq=don+maung+&dirflg=r&ttype=dep&date=09%2F15%2F13&time=03:56am&noexp=0&noal=0&sort=def&mra=ls&t=m&z=11&start=0

or select the bus image and fill in you destination if it still fails to link.

you need to walk down to the bus stop out side the airport on the main road. catch the bus on the same side of the road that the airport is on. ie dont cross the main road. then you will be going in the right direction.

  3. i dont think that providing the finances and checking the books will require the OP to be a monk for a period, or even to take up Buddhism.

standing for anthem wont be that necessery neither for the mentioned providing and checking...

the language is useful, but even that is secondary in this case, as long as he has ( and i am sure he does have) meaningful way to communicate with his partner and his family.

it is no need to go offtopic such a way, in my humble opinion.

sure if you just want to do small time family stuff or behind the scenes yes no absolute need.

  4. my recommendation would be making a very good effort to learn the language and also making a very good effort to be Buddhist including the periods as a monk and the daily giving to the monks. also overt displays of worship of the king. stand for the national anthem when you hear it played.

me i couldn't be bothered and am content to watch from the sidelines. no financial motivation to get entangled.

  5. nevertheless does great selling!! and that is for an 11 yrs old boy!

but OP is talking 10s of thousand a baht day, goes into a different dimension.

for export to international markets singapore or hongkong japan say, and you would be on more stable ground. perhaps look into an agent who knows the full score. dont know about mushrooms spoilage but closer to the airport may be better location.
