  1. What about lonely old farang women in Pattaya? This is a very one sided sexist discussion and nowhere on TV are expat women catered for to this extent. Is Thailand a farang guy's paradise? Who actualy cares how delusional old grandfathers want to do with their retirement?

Most of these threads are about some guy's problem with their Thai wife/gf, the extended family, the buffolo ,the beer drinking sessions, lol farang men, get a grip on reality.

    Who cares

  2. Binkie wrote “Do I detect a racist overtone here???” NO! I think the first Jury was right! But the civil jury was not, they went 10 to 2. Think if you live in America 10 people could bankrupt you for what another group found you not guilt ofdoning. A great country of blood sucking layers! Because the lawyers can lie in court and the courts don’t care.

Binkie wrote “Wait to see the outcome. Remember the people who purchased in VT7 did not do so to spite Jomtien Complex, it does seem as though you are carrying out this to spite those who have bought in VT7. Nasty that methinks.” :D

No. I think though how purchase VT7 did it in good faith. But I not sure about the seller acted the same way? :D

I believe Thailand is a country of laws. If you’re from America I think you from a country of corrupt court! Special the state I’m from! Which sate am I from? Indiana and Michigan is just as corrupt. :D I am speaking from experience!

You sound like a buyer of VT7? Best of luck to you, but I think VT7 will lose!

Nice to see you are still shouting load and clear.

  3. I would not recommend that area to anyone in pattaya.

Way to many bad boys around there.

I walk this park 5 times weekly and have never had any problems with "bad boys" or noticed anyone else run into trouble. In the day time (right from sunrise) the park is full of "normal" people (Thais and Farang doing exercise).

In this park there is a fitness circuit track with stations for various types of calisthenics.

Thanks for the laugh first thing in the morning.

  4. Am I the only one, please squeak up all you mice on the side lines.

I think this thread is in the right place. It's all about the continuing saga of the JCC owners battle for their sea view here in Pattaya. Yes this case could have far reaching consequences but it is of greater local interest. Let's not let the thread drift from the original topic.

  5. New to this forum but here goes. Read this thread and noticed a mention of Regatta Condo. A friend (no really) of mine bought a unit from this development company in Regent Pratumnak condominium. Turns out his unit is much smaller than was advertised and promised in the contract. The developer is reluctant to return his overpaid monies. The amount of money I'm not sure about but he says it is more than 500,000 Baht difference. They even charge the maintenance fees based on advertised size not actual size? Just thought I'd bring this up as a buyers beware report. He has also spoken to a couple of other purchasers and they are still getting invoiced for the full amount for their final payments on transfer. Is this illegal? Surely purchasers must be told before transfer and final payments of the true size and surely this must be reflected in the final payment price?

That does not make sense. My experience tells me that whatever the agreed purchase of the square metres of the condo, the final title deed of the unit shall be the final basis of payments. In most sale agreement, there would be a clause stating that the final square metres as stated in the deed shall be adjusted on the final payment.

Checked with my friend and there is a clause stating unit will be sold at a certain price per sq.m. Seems the developer has had the deeds for a few months and never told any of the purchasers?? Even sent out final payment sheets on the listed size instead of actual size. Only once they received the deeds did they find out the size difference! Now they have a fight to get funds back.

This is very interesting. Please keep us informed how your friend and other co-owners will go about getting money back. There are thousands of condo units in Pattaya and probably thousands of farang owners. We need to know about all things to do with condos - buying contracts, Law, Regulations, Management, co-owners rights. PLease keep in touch.

Mod’s, as I said before, time to move this thread to the right place.

If its all that important and far reaching, then its for all in Thailand

    Not just Pattaya.

    Please no more.

  6. If I have defrost I find it better to power off, then stand a bowl of warm water in the compartment to help the process.

As the lumps of ice drop off, I take them out and dispose of them.

No need to have un-necessary flooding. :D

With luck I can get the whole defrost done in under and hour and the food back in.

My wife loves to get a knife and jab at the sides of the ice box

after about 30 or 40 seconds she then informs me , fridge no good anymore.

time to by a new one. (punched the coolant pipes in the side ) :D

Time for large quantity of beer Chang and stay cool. :D

Does that ring a bell with anyone? :o

  7. Quiet a few bars in soi 6 were closed today, word was it was a police issue, can anyone shed any light on what happened?

most near 2nd rd end like corner bar

I was told the raids were about CCTV systems installed in the St rooms

not having the pause and reply features working correctly.

Also the USB printer hook up was defective at some venues.

This was hampering the souvenir photo option when leaving the venue.

    (Not so good for punters).

So licences were revoked on the spot.

Manual systems were implemented after a few tense moments.

  8. I have only just come across this thread, and it saddens me greatly that this terrible and tragic death might have been avoided.

RIP Matt, and my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

Sadly, what happened does not surprise me in the least, and those of us who have been around Pattaya for a while, who have had personal experiences at this so-called hospital, and have read thread upon thread of damning personal stories about this so-called hospital, will be in no doubt what this hospital is capable of.

Phil Connors and others, know very well what a 'money-grabbing', totally unprincipled and unprofessional bunch they are at this rip off joint , that dares to call itself a hospital, and it does no-one any credit to try and defend such a reprehensible organisation. Time and time again, we have seen evidence of double pricing, treble pricing,'whatever the insurer will bear' pricing, one price when you go in, another price when you go out, mis-diagnosing, unnecessary surgery and treatments... I could go on and on. but this is not the place and time.

It is good that folk have been woken up enough by this tragic affair to consider boycotting the place - believe me, I kid you not, you will be healthier and safer if you do so.

It will also be very good if this matter is really aired in the media, not only here but overseas, because there is a small chance that someone, somewhere will finally take some notice and do something. Unlikely, but it's worth a try. In memory of Matt. if nothing else.

I missed this thread, thought it was something else.

Condolences to the family and friends.

This is disgraceful that a person should die under these circumstances

    In pattaya Thailand.

The hospital is now off my list of places I will take my family and myself.

    Anymore.

“As soon as I heard about the building permit, I thought buying in VT7 was safe, and that's also what my broker said.

My main problem at this moment is whether to stop the monthly payments for the time being or to continue paying as the contract says you have to.

Continue paying means the risk of a big loss (or a payback with a delay that can last for years) and stop paying could mean contract violation which could have other outcomes.”

If you mean real estate agent by saying “my broker said” You many have a legal case against him or your broker? He knew about “planning laws”. He should on known about the 200 meter set back form the sea before you can build over 14 meters high. If he didn’t understand the details of the law that’s still is not a defense.

Have you asked VT to suspend your monthly contract payments? :D

About time this was moved to the longwinded bore section.

Sorry I meant the property section of Tv. (come on mods)

We have minimum of two years of this tennis to look forward too.

    Guys and girls

please try and lay off the capitals letters, it makes you all look real smart

  10. When i first arrived, there was if I remember rightly only 3 beers available.

    Singha Kloster and amarit.

I settled briefly on amarit but was never that realy happy with it ( a bit too sweet ) but it was less damaging than the Sing sessions.

I also would drink the odd kloster. ( it was always a bit more expensive though )

Then I think sing gold arrived ( but thats a wimps drink! )

When Carlsberg arrived I converted but again the carlsberg hangovers were only slightly less damaging than sing ones.

Then the best pair of legs I have ever seen was promoting Heineken one weekend in the Local and I was sold,... have pretty much stuck to the same for around 13 years or so ( im still refering to the beer )

Recently Ive come across cheers beer . Its not widely available yet but for me its not too far a way from Heineken in taste but its miles away in price. So its Cheers for me, from now, when available.

However I haven't tried beer lao yet.

    No.

But I do remember my first BJ I was given in the LOS.

Good to the last drop. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, yes

I would like to split them into 2 catergories.
