Plan 1 has a maximum benefit per disability of 2M which is above the $50,000 BOI requirement, so Plan 1 is acceptable. BOI does not care about the deductible,  it can be any amount of your choice.

I bought the policy just to meet LTR visa requirement, so I picked the highest deductible at a lower cost.

    OK thanks.

So for me the cheaper Plan 1 with 300 000 bahts deductible will do, at 60 years old it is only 5 865 bahts.

I see there is a big step from 60 to 61 yo, becoming 17 350 bahts.  Meaning that for AXA real health problems begin after 60 years old...

On the attestation given by AXA, do they mention the type of Visa (LTR), Plan number, and value of the deductible ?

I didn't shop around. I bought health insurance for LTR visa from AXA, the only company I called. The premium depends on the insurer's age and the deductible. In the picture below , Plan 1 with 2M maximum benefit is good enough for LTR visas. I needed at least 10 months left on the policy at the time of visa approval, so I started the application without health insurance, and bought the policy when BOI asked for it.

I am also interested in AXA health insurance but not sure about plan 1 or 2 and the deductible. Do you mean Plan 1 with 200 000 deductible is OK ?

  3. The Thaiger, today : 3 men arrested for stealing and selling data of over 15 million Thais

Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) officers yesterday arrested three Thai men for stealing the personal information of more than 15 million Thais and selling it to scammers who used the information to dupe victims out of money.
Police yesterday, November 6, arrested the first suspect, a 41 year old insurance broker named Pasin. Pasin sold his clients’ information to the fraud gangs.
The Deputy Commissioner of the CCIB, Thana Choowong, said the fraud gangs used personal information to make victims trust them and transfer the requested money. The fraudsters also developed a programme to bypass the security measures put in place by each bank.

Also be aware that next year you may qualify for Thailand personal income tax, especially if you divulge a high income. Other topics/threads on this forum discuss this issue.

Having just given them my tax form showing that the taxes have already been paid, how could they possibly want to tax that money again ?  Not sensible...anyway i don't and won't have any bank account in thailand, i just access the money from abroad through ATMs

  5. I was not aware that i could submit the health insurance certificate only after the visa being pre-approved, so thank you for pointing that out to me.

Good idea to keep the insurance policy effective every year.

I am suprised at how easy the whole LTR visa application process seems to be for retirees, nice change from the other visas i have been through.

  6. To Thailand J

Thank you so much, i was not aware that the health insurance requirement was so easy to get and so cheap...you are right with AXA on line it is only 5865 baths (150 euros), and you get it in a few click. Will do that...

That is for one year. Do they ask every year to see that insurance renewed?

Not being english or american, i still have to translate my income tax statements, i will contact the embassy to find a certified translator into thai.

  7. I have realized that they don't actually ask for money in a bank account, but for a "money deposit". So I have decided on a solution that does not show any bank account. I will give them the quaterly statements from my investment in mutual funds. There is no way anybody can touch that online or offline without my approval and signature. Problem solved 😀

  8.  Yep. My thinking too...doctoring the number is a bad idea. Anyway i could still be honest and simply blur it, and they could ask for it later if they need it. But after having given it some more thought, i will simply give them the statements with the number, as everybody does without problem. No worth the risk the visa being denied or delayed for that small matter.

  9. I don't have health insurance so i need to show proof of money in a bank account.

As you were saying, i thought also about doctoring (or is it "redacting" in english ?) the account number, easily done with an editing software. But the number is not random and has to follow a precise pattern that can be verified if they decide to do so...Doctoring the account statement, even in a small way, could mean for them that the whole document is a fake, and visa being denied.

  10. Insert the merged files into any slot available. That is what i always do, and i never had any visa denied. I can't see of any other solution. And by adding a first page listing the included files you are sure they will get everything they are asking for. Of course you could omit sending your bank statement and wait hopefully that they won't need it or that they will eventually ask you for it, but i would not bet on that. Waste of time, and easier for them to simply deny the visa.

  11. It is to be expected because the requirements from the embassy usually exceeds those from the eVisa. I always have to merge some of the files into one and add a first blank page explaining what documents are in the merged  file. Works everytime. Merging pdf files is simple and can be done on some free websites if you don't have a pdf editing software.

  12. I agree that the eVisa website requires less informations than a few months ago (post covid effect ?).

But you still have to upload whatever the embassy requires on its website. For example the french embassy require more documents like hotel reservation, bank statement, attestation of retirement..etc. As there is now nowhere to upload these informations on the eVisa application site, you have to merge several unrelated documents into one, hoping they will get it.

  13. Thanks.

And if I click at the bottom of the announcement page I get also the same in thai.

I think that if the officer wants 3000 b, i will just ask for his name and a receipt. And if he says the receipt will show 1900 b, i will ask to speak to his boss. Should be enough to show him I know what's he trying to do (or maybe all the staff are on the take ?).

1100 bahts multiplied by dozens of people everyday, nice little income supplement.

  14. I guess that if you want to avoid the 3000 bahts scam instead of 1900 bahts, it should be a good idea to bring with you a copy (in english and thai) of the new law regarding the 30 days extension of the 30 days visa exemption on arrival.

Anybody can post a copy of that law, or a link to an official thai website ?

    Thanks.

  15. I will have to go to the Immigration Office in Jomtien to extend my 30 days visa i got at the airport when entering Thailand.

I understand that I will get 30 more days for 1900 bahts.

Can you tell me if i need to show a plane ticket, an hotel reservation, or something else ...?

    Thanks
