I use Wise for transfers to my Bangkok Bank account. I always click on "long term stay in Thailand" as the reason and all transfers except one have shown as International Transfer. One transfer recently went through a partner bank so showed as a domestic transfer. I complained to Wise and they have assured me that my transfers would be shown as International Transfer going forward. So far so good.

Could he be worse than the current leader?

Why isn't the Pfizer one on this list?

I'm confused by the "travel on chartered flights from overseas directly to their destinations" bit. Does that mean a non-stop flight? If so, how would one fly from the US to Thailand? Or am I interpreting wrong?

I am a US citizen married to a Thai citizen. Where and how do I register to be able to return to Thailand. Currently stranded in the USA.

So Thai nationals can return home because of why? Even if they are returning from a high risk country?

Ordniary robbers dont attach cans to their guns. The USA has thousands and thousands of legal Suppressors and virtually none are ever used in crimes. Robbers dont rob with cans. Why was this guy using one?

I have made transfers from 2 different US banks using Transferwise to Bangkok Bank. Sometimes they are coded as international, other times as local transfer. No rhyme or reason as to what's happening. Maybe SWIFT is the only guaranteed method to show an international transfer?

Don't. As has been mentioned Panama or Ecuador or better yet Portugal.

I'm 74 years old and don't expect things to get better here. My limited funds will let me have a better quality of life in a nation that has a less repressive government.

I have a Google Pixel XL with the latest OS. The Section 38 app is incompatible with my device per the play store, but the other 2 apps installed OK. Not sure why the one app would be incompatible with a Google flagship phone.

I too am planning to follow this route. Very useful information.

6 visa exempt entries per year or in total?

I too was planning to move to Chiang Mai. Now, maybe not. I opened a savings account on visa exempt (USA passport) at the Bangkok Bank Meechok Plaza branch about 3 years ago. After getting married to my Thai GF, she wanted to have a joint account, so went to above mentioned branch to do same. No problem, except during the visit to the office, my now Thai wife closed the savings account which was in my name without consulting me. Of course, that made me furious, but too late. What was done, was done. Recently went back to same branch to open an account in my name only again. Upon sitting down I asked the girl to speak in English during the transaction. She said yes. Last word of English spoken. Spoke Thai to my wife & wouldn't even make eye contact with me. After several minutes of conversation between the two, looking at forms, etc. my wife said to me that the girl said "cannot". Surprise, surprise. I said to my wife, "why?". She said the girl told her things are different now. Requirements have changed. I called bs on that, & in a fit of anger walked out of the branch leaving my wife to visit with the girl in the branch. When my wife came out she was furious with me for embarrassing both herself & the girl. I had caused them both to lose face. Bottom line no account in my name only.

Thanks for the replies. Am a bit unclear about getting a visa in Laos. Is it possible to do with only the visa exempt? Also to get a visa in the US I would have to have funds on deposit in Thailand?

I have been traveling to Thailand for several years, always entering visa exempt as a US citizen. Now after having been married to a Thai lady for a few years, I'm about ready to make the move to Thailand permanently.

What is the easiest path to follow from visa exempt to an O-A visa with a marriage extension?

I am now 72 years old, can furnish the required funds, & all documents.

Just looking for the least amount of hassle.

Is it possible to do in Savanakhet?
